In the heart of the desolate plain, where rocks punctuated the landscape like jagged teeth, and verdant blades of grass danced in the breeze, there existed a scene of both beauty and brutality. Ponds shimmered like liquid silver under the sun, yet their tranquility was marred by the echoes of past battles, their waters tainted with the blood of fallen warriors. Really, all that dramatic nonsense.

Amidst this harsh environment, Redrum stood tall, his fur the color of freshly spilled blood, his eyes bright with determination. He was a young creature of steadily growing fire and passion, eager to prove himself in combat. His skull swiveled to peer behind him, tail wagging like a rutter out of water. His lips were pulled up in a smile, wicked only in the way it curled the corners of his maw so widely.

"Ready. Ripper?" Redrum asked, his mechanical voice tinged with excitement as they approached the battlefield. He had easily convinced his brother to spar in the battlefield, a place their mother frequented – of course her sons would be little carbon copies of that ethic.

The moment his brother talked about going to the battlefield, Ripper was all in. He had zero hesitation in going and picking a fight, only the fight that he would be picking was going to be with his brother. The monochromatic boy followed his bright red brother under the watchful eye of their mother's vulture. The youths soulless eyes swept the field, slowing here and there to pull a bone from the ground and reminding himself to come back for it. He had even found a full wolf skull sticking halfway out of the ground. Cool! "Hey Seymour! Remind Ripper to come back for that!" He shouted at the bird. He always told himself that he wanted something similar to what his mom often wore for battle. After all, she wore a pretty cool piece! Hurrying to catch up with Red, he was eager to get things started and knock his brother around! Not quite like the cougar had when they were younger, of course. He didn't have that strength yet. But he knew his brother had been practicing far more than he had, and he was curious to know how much his brother knew. "Ready. Ripper?" Ripper's attention found his brother, a huge grin spreading his stitch marked lips. "Ripper is ready! Is Red ready?" He questioned as he settled into the defensive position his mother had shown him. It was safe to say, Medusa's children weren't exactly the patient sort. He waited the bare minimum for his brother to get himself settled before going into action. "Ready or not!" He shouted before racing toward Rum. They were of similar height, so Ripper wasn't worried about hurting his brother too much, honestly. He aimed to come at Rum head on, his grin still plastered to his face as his talons scored the ground as he sought to get close. He aimed to collide his chest with Reds, a cackle on his lips akin to Medusa's as his jaws opened, teeth seeking to grab onto Red's scruff. "Ready or not!" Ripper's voice echoed through the battlefield, a very spirited declaration of intent as he bore down on Redrum, his laughter reminding the vermillion boy of their mother. And without further ado, the brothers launched into action, a whirlwind of fur and motion. Ripper surged forward, his steps sure and purposeful, closing the distance between them with a good bit of speed.

Redrum met his brother head-on, his own excitement fueling his movements as they clashed. Despite their similar stature, Redrum possessed a heavier build and skills that he had tirelessly honed to prove himself as more than adequate after his mishap. As he sought to gain the upper hand, purposefully meeting Ripper’s chest with his own in a brutal clash of snapping jaws and swiping claws.

Redrum grinned, wickedly and widely as he felt his brother’s teeth grab into his scruff. He laughed, a disjointed and rumbly thing, before he twisted his skull to make his own purchase in return. Fores raised, attempting to grapple his brother’s neck, as the red boy lurched his maw forward to try and grasp Ripper's shoulder.

He and his brother collided with one another, a violent clash of Ripper's monochromatic tones melding with Red's vibrancy. He swore he felt his bones rattle with the collision and the ground shake with their power! (A child's active imagination was something, wasn't it?) His teeth found purchase on his brother's scruff, and he grinned through the crimson fur he had a hold of. Rum, however, was having just as much fun as he was. But also in that same breath, it seemed his brother had more experience in figuring out what to do in this situation. Although Ripper had a hold on his scruff, it wouldn't stop Rum from trying to get one over on him. He felt his brothers forelegs coming up around his shoulders, his teeth going in for his shoulder. Heck! He hadn't thought about that! Ripper growled as he sought to shake his head, doing his best to keep his grip on Red's scruff in an effort to tug and jerk his brothers head and neck around. Hopefully, it'd be enough to keep his brother from getting a solid grip on him! For now though, as he figured this whole fighting thing out, he braced himself with legs spreading a little more apart to bear his brothers weight. Redrum was thrilled. Beyond thrilled. He grinned like a fool through his attacks, just like his brother did. He hadn’t been so excited when he’d sparred with other kids, was it a brotherly bond thing? The tension from Redrum’s scruff was not lost on him, but the boy was taking the pain with the pleasure of getting one over Ripper! His fores made their mark, but his teeth did not. His scruff was shaken roughly, loosening his grip on his brother’s shoulders and causing him to miss his bite too! Damn! He tried to push Ripper back, but his brother had hunkered down, already ready to manage Red’s heftier weight. Redrum chose to do the next best thing, seeking to snap wildly at whatever he could – hopefully a bit of shoulder in the process.

Booyah! His shaking his brother around had worked and caused his brother to miss his mark! He snarled playfully through his hold on Red's scruff as he continued his assault, and it wasn't until Red started wildly snapping at him that Ripper let go, jumping back but not before his brothers teeth caught his shoulder, earning him a decent cut there. Ripper laughed a hearty laugh, tail wagging as he dropped to a play bow. "Ripper wins! Admit it! Red lost!" He exclaimed, ready to take his brother on again. Ripper didn't know what he was doing, but hey, it worked! "Does Red wanna go again?" "Ripper||"Menace"

Redrum's grin widened as he felt his teeth connect with Ripper's shoulder, the satisfaction of landing even a partial hit evident in the gleam of his eyes. He released his grip on his brother's scruff as Ripper jumped back and off of his scruff, a triumphant bark escaping his brother’s lips.

Ripper declared his victory with a hearty laugh, so Redrum's playful demeanor shifted into a mock scowl. “Ha! Ripper– will not- win- - a second time!” He retorted, his tail wagging eagerly despite his protestations. It was a rush. This competitive spark inside of him.

“Again.” Redrum exclaimed, his enthusiasm still blazing. He dropped into a playful crouch, his muscles tensing in anticipation of the next round. Mischief in his eyes.
