After exploring the freshwater lake in the center of the dome, having found a cave system at the shoreline and feeling content with her discovery, she led Laney back to the forest. A narrow, deep cut ravine was carved into the hillside, allowing them easy access to the forest; so they didn’t expend much energy during their ascension. Once the girl was beside her, she’d motion for her to follow, wanting to explore the forest again.

She’d smelt something interesting in the breeze- the musky tinge of wool and earth, a clue that there was a herd of sheep or goats in the area. Their kingdom would need livestock to maintain- it was customary, after all. “Laney,” She’d purr, falling in stride beside her. “There is a herd up ahead- I’m thinking, goats or sheep. Let’s capture one and assess it.” If it was a sickly herd, she’d want nothing to do with it- but if they were stout, healthy, and could provide them with horns and wool, she’d be pleased.

Delaeni's initial reaction was one of panic. A herd. An unpredictably huddled mass of wild creatures, butting heads and possibly trampling the unsuspecting. The image in her mind sent a shudder through her body, and she immediately wanted to find an excuse to stay behind. But Azoula was looking at her with an air of expectation. She swallowed hard and nodded reluctantly, trying to control the quiver in her voice as she answered, "Okay, Azoula."

As they approached the location where Azoula suspected the herd to be, Delaeni's heartbeat pounded in her ears. Every rustle of leaves or snap of twigs underfoot made her jump, envisioning a stampede triggered by their presence. When they finally spotted the herd grazing peacefully in a sunlit glade, a shadowed collection of obsidian wool bobbing gently in the breeze, Delaeni’s fears seemed to partially abate. There was a tranquillity inherent in the scene before them that touched a deep chord within her — an almost maternal instinct that yearned to nurture rather than fear.

Yet still, the task at hand was daunting for Delaeni. The notion of capturing one of these creatures, of invading their tranquility and potentially causing chaos and distress, brought a sense of unease that curled in her stomach. With a silent question, Delaeni cast a glance in the Tigeress’ direction, waiting for her to take the lead.
