She hadn't intended to stay away from the pack so long, but she had to admit, it was nice to just get away for a little bit, see some of the country without the pressure of wanting to make an impression on anyone. The fact that Gil was along with her was just the icing on the cake really. How much damage could Deluge do in a week or two? (if only she knew).
Strolling along the shore, she spotted the ship Deluge had let her know she had found entry on. According to her daughter there wasn't terribly much to see up there so she would spare herself the leap, but the building that stood just back from the pier rivalled the Daager Isle resort in it's grandeur. But she knew well enough by now the draw back of islands and if she was going to carry children again, she wouldn't be doing so anywhere she had to swim to to give birth.
"We should see if my uncle can spare any ducks on our way home..." She suggested as she began to climb the stairs to the entrance, knowing that once Chimera had lived here. She would keep to herself that maybe, just maybe she was hopeful her uncle would follow through and kick Gil's ass for upsetting her the way he had.

Gilgamesh had a soft spot for islands. Their privacy, secrecy, the illusion that they were safe from the rest of the world lured him in. But, unsurprisingly really, Modesty made good points that they really weren't better off on any island. So as he stares up at the rusting but lavish building of Forgotten Isle, he felt his heart break a little bit. Just thinking of what they could do with such a place... It would rival that of Artorias' stupid castle.
Letting out a sigh, he follows Modesty closer to the door, wondering to himself why she was wanting to peruse the insides of the building. Were they scouting for material or something... else? Curious as always, Gil follows Modesty up the steps, pausing at the mention of ducks. "Don't want to raid them for the ducks?" Gil teases, knowing that the last time they'd attempted to do such a thing it had turned out... nastier than expected.

Modesty knew something Gilgamesh did not, and that was that Chimera had offered to kick his ass for her (not that she hadn't done just fine doing so herself), but Modesty was not a forgiving wolf, and there was still a small part of her that hoped her brother could concoct a brew to actually make his dick fall off... you know, to have on hand for just in case. "Ah, well yes, but I think it might be nice to give a little warning first in this instance, after the last raid got so messy..." It wasn't like the raiders had ever taken any more than anyone could spare, hell sometimes they raided for the dumbest shit, like when they were still pirates and raided for a volcano rock. How they were met so aggressively at every turn was beyond her. Perhaps they should become the monsters others thought they were?
She shook the heavy thoughts free from her head, this was supposed to be a holiday. The inside wasn't that much different from their own resort, though it was much larger in scale. It was clear someone had lived here in the recent years, it wasn't as clean or maintained as Daager was, but anyone that chose to move here wouldn't be starting with a blank slate either. "I wonder if there's a way up to the roof?" She bumped her shoulder to Gil's before heading up the central staircase. She wondered if the strange skies extended this far south?

He wouldn't and couldn't disagree with her. Why the rest of the world seemed to take them so seriously when they took... nothing seriously was beyond him. But he refused to let the politics ruin their holiday and instead followed Modesty inside. His eyes go wide, a quiet look of awe on his face as he stares. Daager was beautiful, but this place was indescribable. No wonder Chimera had held it so dearly to his chest.
Awestruck, he was brought back to reality as Mod's shoulder bumped into his. He looks to her with a smile, quickly following her up the grand staircase. "Only one way to find out, m'dear," Gil calls as he practically pranced up the marble steps. Had she a plan for them once they reached the outside? He couldn't deny that he wasn't a bit hopeful.

Modesty might have recruited Moo and Erish to her cause before they'd even swum out the island and she might have been playing coy as they wandered up the stairs and poked around in different rooms looking for a way to the rooftop. Finally, a staircase leading upwards caught her eye and she pushed her way up the stairs to the cracked door that led out to what was probably once a staff smoking area (as if Modesty had ever known what one of those things was). A low wall offered a clear view of the beach and the boat, and laid out already for them was a picnic blanket and some snacks, a couple of bottles... It was all just a little romantic.
She pretended she didn't see her rabbit and wolverine trying to sneak around behind them to slip downstairs. She could only hope they'd have the sense to leave the door ajar. Above them the sky danced with a familiar, if not quite as ominous light. "I hope this doesn't mean all my fur is going to fall out again..." She joked with a grimace, "It would completely spoil the mood."

Making their way up that final staircase and through the door onto the roof, Gil doesn't hide his eyes widening in surprise. He pretends to also not notice the companions slinking away behind them and keeps his focus on the picnic laid out in front of them. His lips pull up into a smile as he approaches the spread and looks over to Modesty as she jokes about her hair falling out.
Gil's brow furrow for a moment as his brain clicks about what she means. His gaze turns upward to the ominous moon and he can't help but let out a sigh. "I loved you the first time and I'll still love you the second time," he teases, picking up one of the bottles to take a long swig from it. He would be lying if he didn't say he was a little bit nervous. "No sense in waiting for it to fall out," Gil speaks in a lowered tone, making it quite obvious that he knew it was a romantic gesture as he steps toward Modesty.

Modesty is proud of herself for even being able to joke about all her fur falling out. She appreciates that Gil seems to recognise it's still a sensitive topic for her (even if her fur had grown back more luxurious the second time around). As he steps toward her, she moves to meet him halfway, burying her nose in the scar on his chest that she had given him. She didn't regret the action, and trailed her teeth up to groom the fur on the underside of his throat before moving closer to the laid-out picnic. No point letting such a romantic spread go to waste, they had all the time in the world.
