How much time does Wake spend blocking out the background noise, off in his own little world? Probably too much, but that's okay. Sickly pup, dreamer kiddo, but at least he's getting better now. Getting better, growing wild in the cool, dry air. Hell, he'd been outside more in the time since they'd moved in than... ever? In recent memory. Probably ever. At least for as well as Wake's memory tried to work (not well.) (That's okay.)
In all of his excitement? Maybe he's overdone it. Maybe. It's definitely not that he's been waking himself up coughing again, totally not that. With another hack and a sniffle, it's mid-afternoon and he's groggy from a nap, as he makes his way to the empty infirmary. For as much as he's been sick, Wake has learned how to make a kick ass cup of tea.

Her head still hurt. Even after all this time, if she moved her head a certain way, the pain shot through her temple as though she'd just been injured again. Some day she would pay the mohawked bitch back for what she'd done, but today, she just needed to kill the pain.
Siduri padded into the infirmary, her eyes adjusting to the shift in lighting with a few blinks. She noticed Wake standing there as well and offered him a smile. "Good to see you up and about, brother." Moving forward, the scarred girl bumped shoulders lightly with her sibling. "What are you up to?"

Pulling things down, rummaging through some of the premade blends, sniffing as he went. The move hadn't been kind to any sort of organizational system down here, that's for sure. Maybe that would be a project he could rope that dog into helping him with, seemed like she was always trying to find a project. Scowling and scrounging, Wake is able to find some peppermint, a rather sad looking nub of ginger, and a basically empty honey jar. It's good enough for his cough, probably.
Not alone for long-- it's Siduri that joins him, as he's peeling ginger. A relieved smile crosses the boy's face, shoulder brushing against hers in return. "Likewise," he's not the only one whose a bit worse for wear. "Just took the worst fucken nap. Gonna make some tea 'n see if that helps. Want some?" He doesn't stop his preparation, muddling the mint leaves and now-peeled ginger inside the jar. It's a fine enough vessel, and they'll be able to get the most mileage out of the honey.
A few more things to the brew. Cannabis, for pain relief. Scowling and following his nose, Wake manages to strike the jackpot. A handful of mate leaves, tipped into the mixture. "What're your plans for the afternoon?"

Wake returned the smile and the sentiment. As he rummaged around for supplies and things, she thought about his malady (and her own). "You should throw some willow bark in there too. Good for pain relief." Each word that she spoke seemed to reverberate through her skull and Sid grimaced. Today was going to be rough.
As Wake worked, he asked what her plans for the day were. Sid scoffed and tossed herself unceremoniously onto the ground, rolling onto her back and placing her head on a soft sack of... something. The pastel girl drew her scarred legs up to her chest and made a small sound of 'ionno.' "Probably just going to try not to puke. My head is killing me."
Siduri gestured to the top shelf closest to her brother. "Chuck some Devil's Claw in there too. It helps with pain and inflammation." One might not think it by looking at her, but Sid was pretty decent at healing. Sakana had taught her everything that he knew and she had absorbed it all. "How 'bout you? Plans?"

A wag of his tail, considering his sister's directions. Wake is quick to take the advice, sniffing out some willow bark in the messy stores. It's nice to have her input, and nice to not be alone in here. Behind in his lessons, more used to interacting with adults than anyone his age, and mostly weirder for it-- yeah, he's more than grateful Siduri is here.
The tea coming together well, Wake stretches up to grab the devil's claw, lobbing that into the jar. Satisfied with the concoction, the boy pours some hot water from the always-going hearth and begins to stir. It was a weird smell, if he had to admit, thick and herbal. At least the honey would be nice and sweet, and he takes care to scrape it down from the sides with his stirrer.
"Try not t'hack uppa lung, think I overdid it yesterday." Wake's tone is grey, and he heaves a sigh that ends in a barely-stifled cough. "It's a fucken mess in here, figure if we give ourselves the chores we want, someone else does the shitty ones?" The boy looks to Sid, a toss of his head. She could direct, he'd do his best not to cough on shit. Sticking their brothers with the more physical chores should be par for the course.
Satisfied the tea is properly mixed, Wake separates it into two cups, handing one to Sid with a grin. "Pain, inflammation, cough, low energy-- think there's anything this one won't fix?" Basically, they'd made a magic bullet.

Coughing up a lung... Siduri eyed her brother with concern. It was the general consensus that anyone with any illness or malady went to Sakana for healing. Had Wake not done so? Hmm... maybe she should be making this tea for him instead. Ah, but as she went to move her brain bashed itself against its boney prison and she decided against it. He wouldn't die, he'd just be uncomfortable.
The conversation then shifted to the disarray within the infirmary. Wake's comment brought a chuckle and Sid shrugged one colorful shoulder. "I dunno. We definitely have some lazy siblings. I don't even know where half of them are at any given time." The girl waved a paw in the air. She really didn't care either as long as they weren't dead.
Wake decided that the tea was finished and dispensed it into two dishes; one for each. Sid lifted her dish to her brother and said, "Dibosha," before sipping its contents. The girl wrinkled her nose at the bitter taste of the willow bark and devil's claw, but the bit of honey in there helped out. Wake joked, asking if there was anything that this wouldn't fix. That sobered Siduri very quickly. She looked at her dish, swirling its contents a bit to help cool it. A sigh pulled from her and she softly said, "My brain." No one knew of her issues because she hadn't told anyone. She didn't want anyone to worry. Hopefully Wake was too busy drinking to even realize that she'd spoken.

Wake shrugs off the cough-- it's been a fact of life since mum had been sick, he just hadn't bounced back quite as well. Sleeping too close to her head and all that, being breathed on. While he was doing mostly better, sometimes he did need to be wary of doing too much. For someone quite this high strung? Too much is all the time. That's alright, though.
The two of them chuckled, poking fun at their siblings, and Wake sips the bitter tea as he begins to straighten and tidy the space. Sorting the dishes of herbs, separating where they've started to spill over. Sid's comment about her brain though... Wake stilled, turning to look to his sister. "Still bad, huh?" It's in earnest, perhaps rare for the snarky boy. Not pity, but something else. There's genuine concern, instead of the usual layers of salt and poor disposition.

Wake did hear her, however. His usual carefree expression changed to one of seriousness and he questioned her. Sid stared down at the dish between her paws. "Still bad. Still really bad." She hadn't told anyone about the extent of her fucked-upedness yet. It was difficult to admit weakness and this brain thing was definitely a weakness.
"I'll be okay though. Don't you worry," she assured her brother with a confident smile, though internally, she felt anything but. It was easy to put on a front and pretend like nothing was wrong when it came to family. Sid didn't want them to worry about her. She was fine. She would be fine.
