Getting into the spirit of things

Thyrus wanted to talk with the dead!  He’d seen ghosts but he really wanted to talk to one.  He didn’t even know how to make a ghost show up but just got lucky and found them at times alone.  Now he had a new plan to try!  
The sun was starting to get lower on the sky and shadows were just starting to appear on the ground.  Thyrus had collected a number of bones.  A bird bone, rat bone, and the remains of a deer leg.  Along with that, he’d even managed to get the eye out of a dead squirrel.  It was amazing all the dead things you could find if you looked for scavenging birds.  An eye seemed the greatest find, somehow that would surely help summon the dead?

The water’s surface was reflective and Thyrus could have sworn he’d seen a different wolf looking at him once in it but before he could say anything it had disappeared.  So, maybe the water was a good way to summon them.  The dead things were a bonus.  Thyrus couldn’t exactly explain how the dead things would help but it was a means of trying to connect to the dead and how much more was there than dead remains?  Sadly he had no bones of dead wolves.

Thyrus worked at making a bit of a circular form that he’d be able to sit in.  The squirrel eye was closest to the water.
