Rhino What You're Thinking...
XL hunt
The first hunt had gone so well that Kaino wanted to try another. This time, she wanted the thick hide of a rhinoceros. Not for sleeping on, eww. She wanted the hide to stretch and place above the entrance of her den like a thick, waterproof canopy. The lady wanted a porch with an awning, okay? Jeez...
"I've got a little surprise set up for our rhino friend out there," the lavender and smoke fae informed the group of hunters. Early that morning, Kaino had been up digging a big pit with her new friend Taiga. The lioness and Wolf combo made short work of extracting a large hole in the savannah. Within it, they had placed thick, wooden stakes that had been sharpened to very pointy points. "Run a rhino into a hole and, stab stab stab, we win the day. Got it?" It was straight forward this time. Everyone chase.
A hole was dug in the morning and lunch would come in the afternoon. That was the plan, anyway. Taiga had used her razor sharp claws to whittle points into thick sticks. These sticks were placed within the deep pit at an angle. All they had to do was run a rhino into said pit. Easy? Easy.
Kaino called a group together, her voice ringing out across the savannah. It wouldn't bother the rhino though. They were cocky things. From her vantage in the long grass, the lioness watched one grey ear twitch, but the rhino never stopped grazing even when Kaino howled. Taiga looked back towards the group while Kai explained the plan. Everyone run. Everyone chase. In the end, they'd all be fed.
She stands 63" at the shoulder and weighs a whopping 700 lbs.
A hunt-- Iscariot is never going to say no, even if the prey is a little unorthodox. It would make their den more comfortable, at least. She wasn't going to say no to waterproofing, especially for how chilly and grey things had been already. Winter would only make it worse, no doubt. Fine, she'd help Kaino with her hunt, terrorizing the prey of the region. Sharing a look with her sister, she gives a stolid nod. Taking off at a dead run after the rhino, head low, heart pounding. The best display of her skills, living life to the fullest, and having the best fucking time. Girls do, in fact, just want to have fun. |

Erik has a Norwegian forest cat that is assumed with him at all times.
Like a moth to a flame, the bruise dark giant was drawn to the call. To the hunt. Always the hunt. Long legs drew him across the plains at breakneck speed, skull between muscular shoulders and hackles bristling with fervour. As he stumbled upon the party of mismatched hunters, he slowed long enough to notice a distinctive familiarity in a few of them. Those were some awfully purple pelts. And some awfully devious expressions. That.. would be addressed later. Blood rushed in his ears, tension pulled his muscles taut as bowstrings. Lingering on the outer fringes of the gathering, just long enough to hear the instructions by the leader of the party. The target, an adult rhinoceros. The strategy, run it down. Drive it into a pit a short ways away, and drag the pieces out once it was dead at the bottom. He craved the simplicity, mindlessness of the chase. So when the first of the hunters took off, the violet giant followed suit. Long strides with long legs, paws thundering heedlessly against the dirt. Rhinoceros' had shit eyes, small and beady and only good for detecting movement in their vicinity. Their ears, on the other hand, were large and mobile. So he was going to be as loud as he wanted while he chased that thing to its grave, relying on the sheer volume of his peers to amplify the threat to the massive creature and goad it into fleeing. |
Minding his own business was the reason the greyscale waif was still alive, given the family he was in. However, the sight of a handful of wolves giving chase to an adult rhinoceros was too interesting to ignore. With very little regard for whether or not he was welcome, he kept getting closer and closer. Curiosity killed the cat, but he was not a cat, so that saying didn't apply. There was a cat in the hunting party, though. A very. Very. Big cat. Hopefully it was going to stay focused on the rhino, because he was not likely to survive an encounter with the lion otherwise. Once he was within a stones throw of the chase, passing right by him, he couldn't help himself. Off the young male went, finding a spot in the chaos of voices and paws and bodies that suited him. He didn't even have to take anything with him, this was valuable learning experience. Tongue lolling from the side of his open maw, an unmistakable grin painted across his delicate features. He was a cog in the larger machine of the hunt, and he was loving it. "Nimbus" raindrops by sqdpxl
