Things changed, and things stayed the same.  Erik needs to get a better lay of the land, needs to get a better idea of what goes on up here.  Though he was familiar enough with some of the neighbors, certainly not all of them.  Was he still the same boy that had wandered the mountains as a kid, the same boy as only a year ago?  The same, different, the same. 

There are too many heavy  thoughts, too many heavy things.  Things that drive him from bed, though the moon hangs high in the sky.  Stepping down from the steep mountain, well-concealed by the starry night.  The climb down is one he knows well, even on the less-used north side of the mountain.  The mines up this way were dangerous, but his vision is already adjusted to the nighttime darkness anyway. 

Carefully, Erik picks his way around the outer tunnels.  Not wanting to jump in just yet, but curious as he wanders.  Aimless.  Maybe if he wills his head clear, it'll be so. 


"Speech"

Kai was feeling... pensive. Her itchy paws were crying to go, to move, to explore. She listened, of course. Letting Nila know that she was off to investigate, explore, seek out information in the name of the Syndicate, whatever, she crossed the borders and into free territory. Somehow, her paws led her to the opening of a cave system, though it was unlike any other cave system that she'd ever been within. A strange metal rail disappeared into the darkness, beckoning the curious woman within.

Unable to say no to dark places, Kaino practically skipped within. As she traversed the tunnels, a soft little hum reverberating through her chest, she listened to her own echo. Not the greatest voice, but not the worst. Wouldn't have mattered anyway. Kai liked to hum and sing and all that. Woe be to those around her sometimes.

Finding a particularly large cavern not too far from the main tunnel, Kai sat and looked up. There was just enough light to see some random sparkles in the ceiling. While she was looking up, a familiar scent entered pink nares. Erik. She'd recognize his scent anywhere. Kai had a volume of scents locked away within her skull and she was very, very good at remembering who was who. Part of being a great hunter, I suppose.

"Eriiiiiiiiik..." She called out in sultry, smokey tones, smiling to herself as they danced along the cavern walls. There was no doubt that he'd find her eventually, so here she would wait.
