As they rounded the Rapids of their new home, it would feel more like a patrol rather than a peaceful stroll. But maybe that was because they could have been scouting for new territories to claim for Obscura. He could tell all the lands they wandered through had been used by packs once upon a time due to the amount of dens and common trails around. Some may have been occupied by loners currently too.
It seemed to be the end of their day at least as Cerberus led them towards the windy stream of the land here, what gave the land it's name. It seemed like a pretty nice area to live, it was peaceful. Cerberus liked places with streams and oceans at least. Something about the sound and flow of the water was relaxing to him. He supposed as soon as they made it over the river, they would be back on their way home. And go their separate ways until next time. Maybe Ruse didn't need him anymore, and he was okay with that. But it would hurt him without too much complaint. As long as Ruse was happy, so was he.

Their day spent wandering the lands near Obscura felt like it was coming to an end, but they had enough time left to check out the twisting, winding river that fed into the rapids that made up part of their new home. This day out reminded her a lot of the days when they were living together in Elysium and she would take him out exploring with her. She was a lot more independent now and didn't necessarily feel the need to have someone with her wherever she went, but she still enjoyed the company and liked finally getting to catch up with her brother after all this time. They followed the slightly over grown paths that wolves or maybe even other animals had carved into the land sometime ago and her two-toned gaze scanned the territory as they walked together. She was certainly in no rush to get home, but she was certain Requiem would be expecting her sooner rather than later so she resisted the temptation to try and go any further today. There would be plenty of days and chances to see even more now that they were living together again.

As they neared the bank of the river of the plains, Cerberus looked down at his muddled reflection of the crystal like surface of the rushing water. He didn't see many lively fish flowing through the stream, so he wondered if they behaved differently in the winter. With the days ending so early, the sky started to dim and caused a purplish, redish tint to reflect off the mirror surface of the river. He looked to his sister briefly to admire her without pressing forward more physically here. He supposed he could try to take her out for more than just a stroll one of these days, like they had a long time ago when they were both in Elysium. The wildlife of the plains was starting to tuck itself away for the night, which meant more of the predatorial dangers may have started to roam. He wasn't too worried that he couldn't handle anything himself if something arose. Ruse had taken time to study some fighting too. It was a part of their blood more than anything. "We should probably start heading back." He offered, more straight lined though because they were already on their way. They just shouldn't linger anymore than they were.

Ruse glanced over at Cerberus as he mentioned how they should be heading back. It was getting pretty late after all so she knew he wasn't wrong. The darker it got the harder it was going to be to see the landscape anyway. "Alright," she agreed and began to turn back toward Obscura's lands, looking for a spot where they could cross over the winding river. Before she could move forward any more though, she felt something move across her paw and she looked down to see the tail of a snake moving from one patch of dried grass to her left to another patch on her right. Her hackles immediately stood on end and she squeaked as she jumped back, her ears folding back against her head. "Um, I think it's called Serpent's Plain for more than just the winding river," she said nervously, her two toned gaze now looking around at the grass anxiously. Was that the only snake? Or was there more? If there was more how many were there? She didn't want to find out! "Okay maybe we head home quickly, she said with a little chuckle, trying to calm herself down with a bit of humor.

He let Ruse move forward first as they went to scope out the best place to cross the river. He was pretty unaware of the slithering creature at her paws until she was making a huge fuss, causing him to nearly jump out of his own skin at whatever danger was about to hit them. A usually more relaxed Cerb went into straight alert as his sister squealed and jumped back but soon revealing why the sudden panic. He took a deep breath out before he smiled and shook his head at her reaction. Girls, he supposed. He wouldn't judge her too harshly, at least for being his sister. Who was he kidding, Cerb never judged anyone. With a gentle tap on her shoulder he insisted, "Come on," Before bounding over the shallow part of the river, hitting to rush of the surface once before hitting the other side. He would stop and turn to wait for Ruse, but he'd start back towards Obscura at a trot. If they were running from the snakes after all. It was all a bit of fun.

She could tell from Cerberus' reaction that he wasn't nearly as concerned as she was about the snake or snakes that could be around here and she wanted to gawk at him. There were snakes! She felt like that was pretty worth being concerned! Regardless, he told her to come on and immediately started leading her back toward home which solved the problem one way or another. She got a little bit of a running start before she leaped over the water to join him on the other side, not wanting to touch the water at all in case there was swimming snakes in there. She probably would have been running back to the pack if it wasn't for Cerberus next to her, but since he was here she kept herself to a trot to match his pace while trying to ignore the way it felt like her skin was crawling like a snake was still on her.
