Scylla had taken her significantly younger sister out on a patrol. They should get to know one another, right? The pair of ladies talked as they loped along the border of the falls. Just general chitchat. They didn't share the same mother, but they shared the same father, and Barghest shared the same aunt, so they were a little closer than half siblings, right?

The smaller fae had just been filling her sister in on what she planned to do for Obscura in the future when two jet black forms erupted from the brush. Scylla skittered to a halt, hackles raised. Though smaller, she instinctively stepped in front of Barghest, placing herself between her sibling and the pair of jet black leopards. What? Did they think that she would be an easy target because she was small? They were about to learn.

The slate and cream fae snarled, teeth bared, hoping that her aggression would make the cats turn and leave. It didn't. The larger of the felines raced towards her and Scylla rolled her eyes before setting her defenses. As the cat came into range, a curved, serpentine blade slid out of the sheath upon Scylla's wrist. She lashed out, slicing the leopards face from left to right. The cat screamed, shaking its head, blood running into one eye. It was mad now, but it would get madder still before she was done with it.

"Scylla"

Barghest's cold, aqua eyes narrowed as she assessed the situation, her muscles coiling like tightly wound springs beneath her mottled and striped fur. Scylla had taken the brunt of the initial attack, her smaller frame deceptively agile and fierce, avoiding all harm and inflicting her own counter on the cat’s face. Haha! Barghest felt a swell of pride and protectiveness; Scylla was her strong sister, and no harm would come to her if Barghest had anything to say about it.

“They have some balls. We should divest the fools of them.” She growled, her voice shifting between its male and female tones, creating a disconcerting echo in the dense forest. Barghest's methodical nature kicked in, assessing the strength, speed, and tactics of the jet-black leopards. Their physical conditions, the blood dripping from the forehead of the first cougar. She grinned.

As the feline recoiled from Scylla's attack, blood dripping into its eye, Barghest sprang into action. Her movements were precise and brutal, a blur of white and gray as she lunged at the second leopard, which was circling around to flank them. Her powerful jaws clamped down on the cat's neck, teeth sinking deep into its flesh. Her claws, equipped with metal talons sank deep into the cat’s flesh, scratching, rending flesh as she grappled and rolled with it. Fearless girl.

Barghest took on the second cat and soon the sisters were fighting side by side. Scylla used her blade once more, sending it slicing audibly through the air to take off the tip of the feline's nose. It screamed and thrashed in surprise and the slate woman took that opportunity. Rushing forward, Scylla slammed into the leopard, sending it toppling onto its side. In an instant, she was on top of it, teeth in its throat and serpentine blade between its ribs. Double Whammy!

"Scylla"

Barghest felt the familiar rush of battle as she focused on her own fight, her body a blur of motion and power. She heard the slicing sound of Scylla's blade and the accompanying scream of their foe, a clear indication of her sister's deadly precision. Barghest's lips curled into a fierce grin as she wrestled with the second cat, her claws raking and her jaws snapping with lethal intent.

The struggle was a savage dance of life and death, punctuated by the wet sound of tearing flesh and the sharp tang of blood in the air. Barghest's claws shredded the leopard's fur, exposing the raw, crimson muscle beneath. Her jaws clamped down with a sickening crunch, crushing bone and sinew. The taste of iron filled her mouth as she bit deeper, her teeth sinking into the beast's throat.

With her opponent dead, Scylla turned to inspect her sisters battle. The leopard bled heavily and seemed as though it was trying to get away more than anything. With Barghest's teeth latched into the feline, Scylla moved forward, her blade quickly finding its throat and cutting right on through with little resistance. A sharp knife was a good knife.

Stepping back, Scylla dipped her serpentine blade into the nearby water then took up an oiled cloth from within her bracer to give it a nice, quick cleaning. Weapon upkeep was important. Grey and blue eyes cast towards Barghest as she dispatched her cat. "Something, something Kleins are number one, something!" She mock cheered with an amused expression on her striped features. It wasn't a lie though. Kleins were definitely superior.

"Scylla Klein"

The cat’s struggles grew weaker, its growls turning into pitiful whimpers. Barghest's muscles burned with exertion as she both suffocated it and crushed its larynx, but she reveled in the familiar sensation, each movement deliberate and controlled. She could feel the creature's pulse fluttering erratically against her tongue before it stilled entirely. Delicious.

With a final, vicious twist of her head, Barghest tore the throat out of the leopard, the spray of blood painting her fur in a macabre pattern, claws dislodging and pushing the body down. Then her ears perked up at her sisters words, a laugh bubbling up from her chest.
