His wounds were healing- albeit slowly. And he did still have some soreness, but the pain only drove him to want to train harder. A reminder that he wasn’t going to be taken off guard like that again. He had done some training with his father, and had taken it very seriously. But of course, you could only practice footwork so much before actually trying to implement it against an actual opponent. That’s where Ludo came in.

It didn’t take him long to find his brother- Xairo approached him, his slim silhouette standing out against the backdrop of the tumbling waterfall, the afternoon sun casting long shadows on the beach. The green of his eyes glowed with an almost eerie light, reflecting the determination and competitiveness that coursed through his young body.

"Fight me, Ludo." Xairo said, his voice carrying with the assertiveness he possessed. He was already establish a stance before his brother even had the time to respond.

"Xairo Saxe"

Ludo observed his brother with a calculating gaze, the boy holding himself with youthful confidence. The emerald and crimson of his mismatched eyes met Xairo's determined gaze, a smirk playing on his lips.

“You're eager, Xai.” He replied, eyes sparking in competitive spirit. He stretched, feeling the tension in his body, toes wiggling as he stared his brother down.

Ludo took a few steps forward, his movements a mix of bounce and rounded puppy features, but he still managed to embody a mini predator sizing up his prey. He mirrored his brother's stance, then adjusted according to his fathers lesson on balance, his approach was more relaxed, his confidence born from the expectations of his parents as the eldest.

“Show me what you've got.”

Xairo's lips curled back, revealing sharp canines as he snarled at his brother. The last traces of puppyhood were gone, replaced by a fierce determination that burned in his eyes. He studied Ludo's movements, his own muscles tensing with each step. There was a grace and ease to the way Ludo moved, only fueling Xairo's desire to prove himself as an equal. His brother's cocky smirk only added to his frustration, and without thinking, Xairo shook out his sturdy frame. The dark and light blue fur that coated his body rippled in the warm afternoon light.

His gaze locked onto Ludo's, a fire burning within his own. "Always have been," Xairo retorted confidently, his tail flicking with anticipation. Without another word, he surged forward with all the power in his lean body. In just a few swift bounds, he closed the distance between them. As he reached the last bound, he kicked off with as much strength as he could muster and leapt into the air. With outstretched paws, he aimed to barrel into Ludo with as much force as he could put out, determined to show his strength.

Ludovic's smirk widened as he watched Xairo's transformation from playful sibling to determined contender. The fierce determination in his brother’s eyes didn’t go unnoticed, and Ludovic felt a rush of excitement mixed with the thrill of competition.

“Good.” He replied with a bark, standing his ground, muscles bunched and ready to respond.

As Xairo surged forward, Ludovic's mind raced through his father’s lessons. He shifted his weight slightly, preparing for the impact. When Xairo leapt into the air, aiming to barrel into him, Ludovic was as ready as he could be. The brunt of the attack shocked through his young body, but even better; he stayed on his feet and got to test his brother's strength! It was probably because he was a chubby thing, though.

“Damn Xai!” Ludovic praised, his lips pulling up in an envious smirk, “What have you been eating? Whales?” A tease, quickly rushed out as the Praetor boys jaws struck out to try and grab at Xairo’s scruff.

Ludovic crouched down, mirroring Xairo’s stance, his muscles tensed and ready to spring. His eyes gleamed with excitement, the thrill of the challenge evident in his posture. His tail flicked behind him, anticipation in its waggle. “Think again, Xai!” The boy growled, a competitive edge sharpening his tone. Without missing a beat, he lunged forward, his powerful legs propelling him toward Xairo, aiming to beat him to the punch with a tackle.
