As her children’s eyes had finally opened and they were now able to stumble about their home Ely decided it was time to bring them outside to see their home lands. The snow had already begun to melt as the warmth of spring chased away the winter chill. And as the sun sat high in the sky she too stood from her bed that she laid upon watching her children tussling amongst each other.

”Children, listen closely now” her voice was stern, much like her mother’s tone had been when she was just a pup.

”Today, you are going to get a scenery change… We’re going outside today. But you must stay within my view. Or Else tomorrow you will not enjoy the outside world while your siblings and I go outside, is that understood?” her tone held a stern maternal threat as she eyed each of her children now, Gauging their reactions to her words.


"Ely & Ezekiel"

Scald had decided he would stick around to help with the pups until Elysia banished him from her presence. If she wished for help raising them and wanted both of their parents in their lives, he felt a duty to uphold that request. It was the least he could do when he had been the one to unintentionally bring these pups into her life.

Returning from a trip out into the pines to retrieve food for Elysia and the pups, he was surprised to see her taking them into the outside world. Dropping the dead snow hare on the ground beside the den, Scald moves over to Ely to press his nose to her cheek. Once he pulls away from her, he looks to the pups, still uncertain how to feel about the four of them. Not that he wasn't used to be around pups, but more so being in charge of them.

"Let me know how I can help," he murmurs to Ely before taking a seat, legs stretching out to get comfortable enough and possibly allow the heathens to climb on him if they wished.

Scald & Elysia

Do you ever watch those cartoons where the child hears the adult say 'blah, blah blah, blah blah, blah instead of the words actually coming out of their mouth? Yeah, that was pretty much Maelstrom currently. With paws and legs entangled with his siblings, content to tug on ears and tails, he only paused due to her commanding and stern tone. Looking up with vibrant violent eyes, he blinks at his mother while the words go in one ear and out the other. Outside. Now that word he understood. Kicking and scrambling to peel himself from his siblings, Maelstrom stands alert in front of Ely, tail wagging furiously behind him. Finally! They were allowed to escape the stinky den that was much too cramped. Before he could even think to respond to her with confirmation that he did understand, the charcoal and ice pup was spinning on his heels and out the den's entrance at high speed. Skidding to a dust spraying halt as sun and the looming figure of his father blind him, he coughs loudly, giving his whole body a tension diffusing shake. His muzzle wrinkles, brow furrowing up at Scald before he zips around the male and quickly finds a stick to chew on. Plopping down in the shade nearby, Maelstrom enjoys the gentle breeze that ruffles his fur and the myriad of scents that pass by his nose. MAELSTROM

”Let GO!” Cressida yelled at Maelstorm to release her ear. He’d been gnawing on it since the moment they woke up. Even doing so while they slept. It was becoming a bit annoying. To the point she made a mental note to seek out her revenge sooner than later. As her body stretched after the sudden lack of heat from her older brother. It then dawned on her that their mother was speaking.

They were going outside?

Ears perked with curiosity, before she found herself following behind. Small paws stepped forward cautiously. Eyes squinting against the heavy display of the evening sun. Nearly blinded for a short time until they adjusted to reality. Her mother stood waiting for them. Their father arriving shortly after and taking settlement beside her. Cressida observed it all. How goofy Mael immediately showed himself to be. Choosing a stick to chew on while resting in the shade.

Mismatched eyes took in the surrounding space. Everything didn’t go unseen from her gaze. No matter what it was. A butterfly flew pass on orange and black wings. A bird made sounds from the sky above. Something brown hopped away from the predatory energy now wafting from where they were. Shadows danced along the earth to a distant song. Perhaps the wind and sun were the cause. Either way, Cress found herself dazed by it all. Finding herself taking a seat just in the middle to better take it all in.
