Vine had liked her visit to Auster when she came for The Hallows festival, so naturally she was interested in in returning to see some of the other lands Auster had to offer. She didn't get too far into the continent due to the festival, but it was also a trek to get around The Hallows once you entered through the Bifrost. She did plan on staying here for a few days before heading home.

She had admired the shores east of the Hallows, and had even seen the mixed golden birch trees as the lands changed from the grove to the dam. But she was caught by an unexpected rain that floated overhead, causing her to dart for cover under the trees. The falls seemed like a much more dense canopy of trees to get out of the rain so she made the move more south of where she was now.

The trees helped significantly just as she had hoped, though there was still a fair amount of rain water falling off the leaves. She gave a quick little shake before venturing farther into the cedars. Her eyes sharp on her surroundings, she took the moment to admire the tall pine trees and listened for what she heard was running water. She decided it was probably a good place to set up for the night.

Venturing farther into the falls, she found a place to stay for the night near the base of the large pool at the bottom. She still had plenty of daylight left though, but the rain and the trees above made it feel much later than it actually was. Vine dropped whatever few supplies she had brought with her for the trip before heading back out into the forests. She began scenting for some kind of prey for dinner. She was sure there were plenty of pickings for her to choose from. And they may have had the same idea as her to get out of the rain. This place seemed as good as any to find some safety. Luckily she wouldn't be killing for sport, just one meal for her belly.

Silas was almost always looking for the opportunity to hunt, or explore and hunt or explore while he was out for a hunt. He didn’t have many hobbies besides that. He’d been able to be much more adventurous with the compass on his foreleg. He could find his way home wherever he went, in addition to knowing where the true north was. His father couldn’t have given him a better gift. He felt so much more freedom now that he never had to worry about making his way to the Hallows hearth.

After the festival he had taken to scouting again, looking for a good opportunity to hunt. His dark paws carried him to the cedar falls. The trees were massive, giving all sorts of prey cover and the falls water for those same animals. Surely he could bring something home. Silas would become distracted by the scent of another wolf, hidden by the rain. Suddenly the area opened up into the clearing around a pool and there she was.

Much like Silas she looked as though she were starting to scout for prey, and if Silas knew anything about hunting it was more paws made light work. "You look like you’re about to head off for a hunt, mind if I join in?" He asked with a curious tilt of his head.

As vine started scenting the air and looking for tracks, she was joined by a young man from The Hallows. She wouldn't have recognized his scent if she hadn't been there just a season ago. It would make her bring her guard down, not that she was overly defensive otherwise. She was more naive really, but knowing him from a rather kind pack in her opinion she wouldn't think he would harm her. Simple enough.

She took a moment as she glanced over his celestial markings. Nothing she had seen before surely, not even in nature. They were quite remarkable if she had made a comment, but that was silly. Two strangers in the woods, she wouldn't chatter about his... beautiful coat especially while they both had a task in mind. "Yeah, of course." She responded welcomingly, raising her head to look around at the forests around. "I don't suppose you know good prey that frequent the area here?" She suggested, but she thought there were surely some deer or antelope they could bring down together. She didn't mind sharing a meal especially with a kind boy.

He didn’t know where she was from, though he probably should have. Politics weren’t his strong suit and there had been so many different scents at the bonfire he didn’t know who was who and what pack was which. That was certainly part of the reason he wasn’t an ambassador and kept to hunting and exploring. He didn’t have very many friends to speak of, though he loved his family dearly. Could you call your family friends anyway? He had made an attempt at the bonfire, though he wasn’t sure even that had gone very far.

The girl was quite pretty, he liked the vibrant purple of her eyes as she looked up to him as he asked about her motives. He was right, she was indeed getting ready for a hunt and even better she was willing to allow him to come along. Silas’s maw split with a grin, "Great!" He returned as she followed up asking about his knowledge of the place. "Hmm, Tapir are probably the most common. They like water and the wet." He explained after a quick thought. Did she know what a tapir was? "They’re kind of like a mix between a deer and a pig." He explained with amusement.

He didn’t wait too long before taking the initiative and leading the way, making his way through the rain. He was quiet, his large paws thoughtfully placed through the wet leaves as his sharp eyes searched for their intended prey. Before too long, as he said the tapir were quite common, Silas was gesturing to the girl that up ahead was their quarry.
