Deluge had withdrawn.
It was clear the girl wasn't coping with motherhood, with the absence of Dread and Morwenna finding solace in Scald's company it wasn't any surprise she wasn't coping. Modesty made her way into the treehouse at the end of the Ravine and looked over the three young pups, briefly looking to Deluge curled in the corner before plastering on a bright smile for the pups. Sakana would see to her, and move her back into her parents home if needed. The kids needed to be socialised, there were plenty of kids of a similar age they could be playing with.
"Right you three, we're going to have a race to Grandma's house. Once we get there, I've got a treat for you all." She ushered the children towards the door, giving a look of concern to the healer as he slipped past. She drew a line in the dirt. "See that rabbit with the antlers? He'll show you where the finish line and your prize is! On your marks, get set..."

Tempest was about climbing the walls. They’d be stuck in their den since they were born and she was ready to adventure. Waiting until they were deemed old enough to have some freedom was a drag.
So when grandmother came into the den, she was a brush of fresh air and Tempest immediately zeroed in on her, watching intentionally to see if this was the moment. It was. Tempest unfolded her ready stance, and leaped forward. Charging out of the den the moment Modesty said go “Last one there has to share their treat!” she howled, dashing forward as fast as she could

Round in the way young pups were, the boy rolled when daylight cracked through the doorway. The bright voice was foreign, but that didn't stop him from toddling along on his pale sister's trail, a glance thrown back to the room to look for the red one.
His distraction was quickly bought at the mention of treats, and Tempie's loud declaration that the last one there would have to share their treat. Like hell he was gonna get girl cooties on his snack!
Little legs propelled the boy forward, snapping at his sisters heels and shoving with his shoulder whenever he got close enough. They both had enough of a headstart it was pretty clear Mercy would be the one sharing, but that was Mercy's problem.

In the flurry of movement, Modesty didn't realise she was missing a body, that one of Deluge's children had been missing for quite some time now. She saw three bodies racing down the Ravine and she followed after them at a casual lope, towards the blankets that Kenway's cattle dogs had laid out, the platters of meats and cheese and fish scattered about more than even her own pups could eat.
"O-ho! Too close to call! You're both so fast! Looks like I lost..." The realisation that only two children had come had her peering back towards the treehouse, back molars clenching as she considered how she had left her daughter in the care of the healer. If one had chosen to stay with their mother, no concern, if it was another to the tally of the missing...
No need to weigh the children down with her concerns. She turned back to them with a bright smile, "Maybe some of the others are hungry too? This looks like too much just for us..." She tipped back her head to call for the other children of the pack, nothing like a picnic to get to know your niece and nephew, right?
