Now that he was most assuredly not dying, Chimera took a bit of leave from Elysium to track down a few wayward children. He imagined they might be congregating around Obscura, Scylla's newly formed pack, so he made his way in that direction. Fortunate for him, he picked up on the scent of one of his children and followed it towards the Delta. It had been some time since he'd seen Gem. The fall of Ashen had scattered the pack to the wind. At the time there had been nothing he could do about it. Now, he could at least see to the well being of his family. Chimera seated himself on the mainland, looking out over the delta. The brute raised his muzzle towards the clouds above and released a low, beckoning howl, calling for his daughter if she was indeed still around these parts. If not, he would move along and look elsewhere for her. Gemma & Chimera

While Aethon had offered her to move north to live within Elysium lands, Gem had politely declined. She wanted to find the rest, or however many she could, of their siblings. Knowing that he, Phobia, and their parents resided there was comforting. That she could see them whenever she wanted or had the time. For now, she had spoken with their older sister, Scylla, to request residing with Obscura. Barghest was here and potentially others would come as well. Hope lingers in her chest as she wanders from Obscura lands toward the eastern shores. The delta wasn't somewhere she had explored yet. From the brackish waters of the mangrove forest spread out varying sandbars that hosted palms and tropical foliage. A warm sea breeze ruffles her coat and carries with it the scent of crustaceans and brine. Everything is peaceful here. How the sand glistens beneath the sun. The fish that pop up from the surface to splash droplets of water into the air. This was the perfect place for her to explore and gather materials for her crafts! Just as she's about to wander out further into the delta, a beckoning howl lights the air. Freezing in her tracks, she turns to see the one figure she had been hoping and dreading to see the most. There was no denying who that howl hailed from. Her father. How long had it been? Tears already well in Gem's eyes as she races forward. Without hesitation, she bounds over the sand and rocks to the massive form of Chimera. "Daddy," she says hoarsely as she leaps up to embrace him, clinging to his chest and digging her muzzle into his fur. Gem Klein

It didn't take long for his summons to be answered. Gem came rocketing towards him and the dire brute opened his arms wide. Once she was settled against his chest, Chimera wrapped his daughter up in his embrace, his own nose burying itself in her fur just behind one ear. Gem was so grown up now, but she would always be his little girl.

Chimera didn't let Gem go, but he did loosen his hold in case she wanted to pull away. "I'm glad that I found you," the dual-toned brute rumbled softly. "Your mother and Dalila seemed to have cured my ailments." For now, at least. It had gone away before and it had come back with a vengeance. Perhaps next time it would succeed in taking out the former king.

A gentle kiss was placed atop Gem's chimeric brow as Chi lowered one big paw back to the ground for balance. He was getting old, after all, and he was still regaining his former strength. "How are you, Gem?" The man's brow creased. He didn't want her to try and cover up the truth for his benefit.
