Change had happened all too quickly for her, and quite frankly, Brida wasn't ever really quite good at change. Not only that, but she kept obsessing over her constant losses and it had become too much. Before she knew it, she had taken off without a word, and in her wake, Gimli had followed in an effort to convince her to come back. She had lost track of time as she secluded herself far in the mountains, but Gimli had managed to track her down and eventually convinced her to come back. Now the pair were returning to what they hoped they could still call home, and if anything, she would take the blame for it all and hopefully spare Gimli the shame of what could be considered abandonment. She had let her emotions get the best of her, but Gods did she hate feeling like she wasn't a good enough warrior! She worked tirelessly, and yet...she still wasn't good enough. Maybe she was missing something. Perhaps she wasn't meant to be a warrior. Whatever the case, she refused to back down. She would simply have to work harder at it, no? Approaching the borders of Hemlock, she prayed to the Gods above that Delphi would understand. She glanced at Gimli, her expression stoic before she turned her attention back to the border and called for Delphi. Neither wanted to simply just walk over the border and act like nothing had happened. No, Brida would reap whatever consequences there might be. |

He was tired and feeling pretty grumpy. He had gone on a wild goose chase to look for her and bring her back, and it had taken quite a lot of effort to do so. Finally though, he had succeeded in coaxing her back. Now he was sure he had to deal with potential repercussions since both had taken off without a word. He hadn't planned on it initially, but after having taken her on as his ward and knowing how volatile she was being after feeling like a failed warrior, he couldn't leave her be. The pair finally made their way back to Hemlock and he sat beside her, looking every bit as grumpy as his feline companion who sat beside him. He wasn't happy about this, and he hoped Delphi understood and would forgive him. Forgive them. He made it clear that they'd work their asses off to make up for their absence regardless of Delphi's decision. "Ye better hope she's in a a decen' mood, eh Brida. I would nae be if I were her..." He huffed as his ears laid back against his head while she called for Delphi. Under normal circumstances, he would've gone straight to his den for a long and much needed rest, but after being gone for a time, he didn't think that was appropriate at the moment... |
