Lucy had done her best to patch him and Beau up but Bae-Syl was a stubborn ass. He had insisted getting her home and getting them both behind guarded borders. Back to the families they had lost time with. He had let Beau lean against him when he needed and had done his best to not push him or the dog too far. Both suffered a broken bone, and Bae had a limp himself. It wasn't broke but he was also tore up pretty bad. He had let Lucy worry over him, as he did the same to her, she had little choice and truth be told he had missed her worrying over him, though the soldier in his bones refused to let her know how much her loss had affected him. Refused to let her know that he had been on the edge of a ledge, metaphorically, when he couldn't find her.
He limped with his one ear pinned towards the border. He expected his kids to come when he called for saga, having likely all been told by Gav what he was doing. That he was either bringing their mother home or dying trying. He expected things to have remained unchanged. But approaching the borders, the scent was off. He knew it would lack his scent, being as he had been gone and no patrols would have been from him, but to find less scents was disturbing. He let the emotion play on his face, but instead of stopping on the border he gave a gentle nod to Beau and Lucy, stopping might mean Beauregard falling asleep from pain and the man needed a good den before he did that, the closest would of been his and Lucy's. He'd refused to stop at any of the packs along the way as well. He wasn't about to make the man go farther than necessary but he wasn't going to let someone he didn't know or trust help him either.
He moved until he could see the den before giving a cough of a bark for whoever it mattered to. He knew fully well Lucy and his den was close to the heart of the territory and therefore the communal areas. He didn't care if they were trespassing in regards to some right now, this was home as far as he was concerned. He lead the way inside and nodded to Ink as he entered, knowing the cat had stayed waiting for Lucy the entire while. Ruby didn't enter though, instead flying towards the creek to Gavarache's chosen hovel. He was likely worried and Bae had told the bird before to go tell him in her ways that they were home and safe. His dog limped into the den and unceremoniously laid on the bed that was intended for their companions. Bae nodded his head towards the bed that he and Lucy had shared. "You can lay there and sleep. I'll speak with Saga while you two sleep. be prepared for the kids though, heh. They missed you from what I could tell. We have Gav to thank for me even finding you two though." With that after he made sure Beau was comfortable he made his way outside. His left back leg causing a slight limp, the scabs fresh on his hide as he waited for whoever was going to show up. His eyes hard but tired as he watched.
"Speech!"

Anxiety…
It made her fur prickle and stand on end as she walked with Bae-Syl and Beauregard back to Polaris. The journey had been taxing, and what little herbs that the slavers had at their camp was quickly used on the wounds that the two male wolves and Bae-Syl’s canine companion had endured. She was tired, but she hadn’t been able to sleep as she stressed over them all. There was no soothing her, not with Bae a walking rag doll at this point with all the injuries he had sustained. If those wounds got infected, if he died in order to save them, Lucy knew that she would never forgive herself. It was the goring incident that they had as kids all over again… only this time her father wouldn’t be there to help them.
Tears silently pricked her eyes as they made their way through Polaris territory. The best thing to do was make their way to the den and rest on the furs. Her mind was throbbing, ears pinned against her skull. Staying in Polaris was almost feeling like it caused a magnet for trouble to be upon them. She was afraid, frustrated and tired. She was tired of things going wrong, of her family and loved ones being hurt. She was tired of feeling like she was helpless to help the ones she loved when they needed it most. Some healer she was…
Once in the den she made sure Beauregard was situated on the furs before following after Bae. She knew he wouldn’t like that she was outside but she couldn’t settle down. Not yet. Not without him. Lucy slipped up to his side and unceremoniously flopped her rump onto the earth before carefully pushing against him. She didn’t say anything, but her aura made it clear she wasn’t going back in until he did.

Eltrys had set up Alexandrite with her new duties as Haydee's constant caretaker while she recovered from her illness. The teen was left with clear directions about dosage and howling for him if the former Ethne leader showed any signs of distress. He was out marking the territory down by Cattails Creek when Feyr, his swallow-tailed kite alerted him to movement over the borders. Hm... The new Chief padded quickly toward the center of Lazuli Falls ready to give it his all to defend the pack when he heard the harsh bark for a Leader from a vaguely familiar voice. He had tried to connect to Bae-syl before but they had passed like ships in the night most days.
His alarm grew into elation! The scent of Bae-syl and Lucette was clear with another scent he didn't recognize as well but was similar to Trixy.
They came into view, a little worse for wear. Eltrys's tail was high in both status and nearly unbridled joy.
"You've returned! Thank all the Gods! Lucette! Haydee will be so happy to see you when you've had some time to settle back in and rest. Take all the time you need, both of you. Is Alex with you?" He asked, dipping his head to peer into the darkness for the dire wolf hunter. A different form was in the shadows. They seemed more than weary. They can get acquainted when they've all had some proper rest.
"Do you need treatment? A meal?" He asked, elated to see them home after hearing about Bae-syl's leaving to go on his search. He wanted to make sure their needs were sufficiently met before telling them any pack news. It can wait.

When he and Lucette had been taken, Beauregard had been shaken. His faith that he might return to the pack that had given his family refuge and see them again had been shaken. First he failed them as a leader, father, and mate, and then… But no, that hadn’t mattered in the end. Help had come. Lucette’s mate had been given their location and arrived like a bat out of hell to free them. And once his own cage door had been released, broken leg be damned, Beauregard rushed to aid him. The others fleeing were of no consequence. Beauregard helped ensure their freedom, though he’d be lying if he said Bae-Syl and his companion did most of the legwork there.
Their travel from the north had been grueling. Both he and Bae-Syl’s companion had a broken leg and Bae had been torn up pretty badly. Lucette fused over them all, especially after the limited supplies of herbs that the slaves had were gone. Temporary bandages of torn blankets had been made, as well as slings for himself and the dog. Beauregard wanted to see his family again, but exhaustion threatened to overwhelm him. The only thing keeping him awake at this moment was momentum. He’d be crashing the moment they were able to rest.
Bae-Syl had led them to the den he and Lucy shared, and at the offer to lay on the furs Beauregard gave a grateful nod to the man. He unceremoniously flopped down and closed his eyes, quickly drifting to sleep. He was going to need to speak with whomever was in charge later once he had some rest…
As his mates, Tanelan and Co. are allowed in any thread Beauregard is in regardless of tag.

Some time had passed since Gavroche had given his father the location of his mother and Beauregard. He hadn’t told much of anyone about where his father had gone… even if it had his fur on end knowing that he couldn’t go after them. Guilt still gnawed at him for keeping it from Bellatrix for as long as he had… he’d confessed once his father was gone, but… He did his best to shake the thoughts from his mind. He kept himself busy organizing things in the den he’d made for himself in Cattail Creek. But the moment Ruby arrived everything was dropped. Gavroche knew what her coming home meant. Paws carried him from the pack’s second territory in the direction of the falls. Anxiety gnawed at his gut as he feared for what state his parents would be in. Ears pinned against his head the whole trip. He’d find Eltrys had arrived before him… and his father in rough shape. That was probably nothing compared to what had happened to the slavers that had dared take his mom. His mother looked tired, both mentally and physically, but there were no physical wounds on her body as far as he could see. The winged male didn’t stop until he had moved past Eltrys to press against his mother’s side. He was full grown but he was still smaller than his mother. Not wanting to interrupt whatever connection Eltrys was trying to make with his parents he didn’t say anything… but there were no words needed as Lucette leaned back into him, silent relief shared between them. |

Bae sat stone silent and cold as Lucy followed him out. He didn't mind one bit that she decided to not leave his side. He'd missed her dearly when she had been taken. Nothing could of prepared those slavers for his rage and anger either. He had let her fuss over him but was still the honed weapon until they made it home. A deep breath was taken as she leaned into him.
Stress relieved, a relaxed exterior finally coming to the man. He leaned his nose down, burying it into her scruff. An inhale had her scent deep in his nose. His eyes lifted though to the form of Eltrys as he approached. Though no sign of Saga behind him had Bae narrowing his gaze suspiciously. And no Haydee either. A rumble came from him in thought and suspicion. Had the male taken the pack while he was gone? Is that why their borders smelled off?
His one good ear perked as he let Gav take Luce's attention and he sat up from where he had been. Maybe they could have private time together later, but right now he definitely needed to speak with Eltrys. He looked like he was taking charge and bae was unsure of where this would put them. Then Eltrys was speaking and he waited. Alex was missing now too? Fucking fantastic. "No, I wasn't even aware Alex was missing.... when did you last scent or see him, I'll track him down first thing in the morning." So much for getting some alone time with Lucy. Though he guessed that was his job as bruiser. The work was never ending. Not That bae minded. He preferred it this way.
He leaned back on his side before letting himself flop unceremoniously on his side with a small his of breath. To be honest things hurt but he wouldn't tell anyone more than they needed to know. "Lucy will just need herbs and Beauregard and Jareth have broken legs. They got the worst of it....." His eyes flicked to the den entrance to indicate who he was speaking of. "I'm just sore, mostly. I have traps around though so food isn't a problem. Her herb stores went bad though, Hopefully Tani cleared them for her while we were gone." He moved his gaze to Eltrys, ignoring the Orange blur that was Iki as he came looking for his mom and food handouts. That boy. One day Lucy would do as Bae had with him and cut him off.
Though a purple and white form slinking into their den caused him a grin. Good Beauregard would appreciate the visitor.

Iki was oblivious. That was the best way to put it. He hadn't even noticed his parents were gone. No what brought him to them was the fact that he had been moving to get some eggs and candy, and he saw Ruby. OH BOY! Maybe dad had finally gotten over it and had food for him! She picked up his pace to go.
As he came upon them, he didn't stop. His little tail was wagging and his eyes lit up with excitement. He didn't read the room as he moved in. He came and flopped in front of his parents and gav. A whine escaping his maw. "I missed you mum! Did you get me breakfast while you were gone?" His mouth parted in a smile and pant as he looked between gav and her. Did Gav have food? Could they play a game maybe? He hoped if they did it wouldn't be anything he had to move too much for.

Trixy hadn't spoke to much of anyone since Gav had told her. She was saddened that he hadn't trusted her enough to tell her when he knew, but she forgave him. He was trying to keep her from being upset. He hadn't meant to let her get upset or hurt.
When she had seen Gav run past her den, which was near his she had sat up and went to holler at him but he was already gone. Worry laced her expression as she stood and made to follow. He didn't smell scared, which was a small relief but she still made to go after her friend as he darted through the lands. He was fast but not fast enough to lose her.
As she saw where he went her eyes lit up. There was his parents and she could smell her dad. She moved quickly not stopping for anyone. Even if they tried she was going to slip under, or in gav's case over, them. Nothing was stopping her from getting to her dad! She'd fight if she had to, though she didn't think she would have to. She moved into the den, past the dog only stopping when she was with Beau. Her head pressed into his throat as she laid down and pressed into him. Tears pricked her eyes. Gods she had missed him! "I Missed you so much Daddy! I'm so sorry, its all my fault! I should of looked for you." She was pressing into him and curling up like a small pup again. She wished she hadn't been so absorbed up in herself. She would of known him and Tan were gone then.

Eltrys was the one who came to greet them. At his words, Lucette gave a small nod. She’d be glad to see her sister as well, once they had rested. But his next question caused Lucette’s heart to drop. Wait… Alex wasn’t here? Why? Her ears pinned against her skull and a whine left her as her gaze shot to Bae-Syl. He hadn’t been with her and Beauregard when they were captured. She wanted to protest against the idea of Bae going to look for him altogether… but she was also worried.
“You are torn up… You can’t neglect your wounds… if they get infected…” Her voice was quiet as she leaned against him. Overall she was just tired, tired, worried… Could there be one day of calm for their family? But then came her boys. Gavroche against her side, and Ikuchi in front of her and Bae. Her gaze shifted to Ikuchi and softened. “Sorry sweetheart, you and Gav will need to check the traps for us. But if you bring things back here for everyone I’ll let you choose your breakfast first.” As she spoke a blur moved past them into the den.
Bellatrix. Poor girl.
Lucette’s gaze returned to Eltrys. “Fresh herbs will be the most helpful for us right now. Splints for the legs, bandages…” A pang in her head brought the next words from her lips. “Maybe some tea if this headache doesn’t clear after some rest.” She gave a small, sad smile. “I’m afraid with everything going on I’m a bit out of the loop with the pack… Is Dorian still tending to the gardens?” She asked, unaware that her brother had taken his leave.

Truthfully Imogen hadn't been around much, she kept drifting back but with the majority of her family scarce in their own way the girl couldn't help but want to escape. She hadn't been able to convince herself to fully detach though. Not while her dad was missing. Much as all she wanted was to find Jiro and go off on an adventure with him... That way she wouldn't have to be so aware of how distant her family had become... Maybe they could find her dad while they were out there! Even as distant as she was Imogen would have had to be very unaware to miss that there was some sort of commotion happening in and around a den. Curiosity got the best of her and Imogen slowly approached, voices overlapping and unfamiliar scents mingled with those she knew were the pack she wasn't technically even a member of. Cautiously she poked her head into the den, spotting the familiar colours of her older sister almost immediately and then- Imogen didn't wait for anyone to notice her, she was pushing her way into the space as quickly as she could, beelining towards Beau, towards her dad! It was only the poor shape he seemed to be in that kept Imogen from throwing herself on him, so instead she pushed close, doing her best to take up as little space as possible and trying very hard not to start crying... A task she was failing at. |

Eltrys watched with warmth in his eyes as he saw a gaggle of members both of Norad's guests and the newly 2-year-olds come and greet their family. He kept his focus on both Bae-syl and Lucette.
Eltrys frowned at the news that Bae-syl had not seen Alex. Eltrys was not liking that members would just leave and not tell other's their whereabouts. How were they to know where to look for first if they didn't tell anyone where they were going? What if something terrible happened to Alex while he was gone but no one had known? What if their enemies were enslaving their members?
And the large number of slavers that had started arriving on this continent and causing havoc. No, unfortunately, he could not let that go on for much longer.
Bae-syl was determined to leave immediately in the morning.
"Lucette is right, you will not be heading out to find him Bae-syl, not until you have recovered enough from this venture first, and you hear me out." He watched as Bellatrix slid into the den, with his eyes, and brought them back to the fighter and his newly returned wife. He waited for Lucette to finish speaking with her son then turned to him about what they needed.
"Hmm... yes we still have a small store of herbs, some bandages, and splints. I'll get Alexa on it, hopefully, Tani can assist as well." He sent out a call to the shy bi-colored girl who no doubt would start to gather the supplies and meet them here, and to Vitani, though he knew Tani didn't know him as well.
"I'm afraid there's been a few changes while you were both gone." He said after Luccette inquired about her brother Dorian.
"A few members have chosen a new path away from the pack, Doran and Dagrun among them. Perhaps Alex had also chosen this, but it's not known. Saga stepped down from leadership a mere few days ago. She has given me the mantle and I told her to take some time to rest. She is still a youngster among the bears and the title is heavy, I'm honored to greet you as chief of the pack. In another few days, I will call the pack together... You are the first to know." He broke the news as gently and as warmly as he could. He gathered that the changes had unsettled them before, and he wished he had a better repertoire with both of them.

As he listened to the older adults speak of his uncle, Gavroche felt a churning in his gut. The news that his other uncle, Dorian, had left made him sad, but he knew that his uncle Alexander hadn’t dispersed. He spoke up, his voice quiet. “Uncle Alex didn’t leave the pack… I told him about mom and Beauregard… He left around when I did to look for them. Maybe he’s still looking?” The winged male suggested. He looked at Eltrys, offering an apologetic look. “I’m… I’m sorry we didn’t communicate better… I don’t think either of us were thinking about what would happen if we also got hurt or caught… I know I just wanted to get them home…” His gaze fell to his paws. “Grandmother had friends in Boreas… perhaps my uncle went there, looking to see if they had seen or heard anything. He’s a lot like her… I’m sure he’s still okay…” Not wanting to stick around much longer, Gav cleared his throat and peeled away from his mother’s side. “C-Come on Iki, let's go get breakfast for everyone.” He offered, starting to head off. -Exit Gavroche unless stopped- |

He had not been resting long when suddenly a warm body pressed into him. Beauregard flicked open his eyes, pushing through the need to sleep, ears perking as he looked at his little girl. She was a young woman now… the last bit of her growth to reach it missed. Beauregard shook his head, softly cooing to her. “Hush, none of this is your fault, little one.” He shifted to nose her cheek, grunting a little at how stiff his body was now that adrenaline wasn’t coursing through him. “None of us were expecting this to happen, and I’d rather you and your siblings have been close to the pack, to have safety and sanctuary if you needed it.” He had no sooner spoken those words when Imogen came, also with tears in her eyes. Pushing himself up, Beau moved to give a comforting nuzzle to her as well. “No tears, girls. I’m roughed up, but it will take more than some mean wolves to take your dad out.” He knew he was being light about the situation, but worrying them wouldn’t help anything. He set the paw of his good leg on Genny’s own, offering her a smile. “Ravenwoods are survivors.” He said gaze shifting back to Bellatrix. “The world can fight us, but we do not give up on who we are, and what we stand for. We protect our loved ones and allies, no matter what.” He let out a loud yawn. “Though… I need you girls to do something for me…” He let out a little chuckle. “Bae-Syl wanted to get us back as soon as possible, and I’m exhausted… barely keeping my eyes open…” He shifted, laying back down on the furs. “Stay with me while I get some rest, we can talk more after, okay? I promise.” Another little yawn as his eyelids fell again. "Speech," 'Thought.' |
