And in the night, she dissipates

Nila was broken. Her whole life was dedicated to loving her Kai, to always being the best Sidi she could be, the best lover she could be for the woman she loved. Her best friend since childhood. Kai was her world, the air in her lungs, the ground she walked on. But all that had come crashing down like an avalanche. The first thing had been the random of a child. Angry tears welled in her eyes as she took as shaky bread and looked at the night sky. She could stay her anymore. She wouldn’t spend her life watching Kai with him and living as second best. She couldn’t do it. Her mind was made up. She would do the thing she knew would seal her fate one day. She was leaving Kaino. She was leaving the syndicate tonight. Or she would die trying.

Calling on all her courage. On all the strength she had left in her body she began to walk away, her heart breaking more and more with every step she took. Tears continued to roll down her face as walking turned to jogging and jogging turned to running. And as she crossed the border of the syndicate she let out a single gut wrenching, heartbroken wail of call, her goodbye to Kaino.

And with that she took off into the night, into the unknown and didn’t look back. Sure that someone would come to that sound and discover what she had done. That a Sidi, Kaino’s personal slave, had run away…
