"Ow ow ow ow..." Curse that wolverine! He had been coming down to see if Hellborn was similar to his home pack and also to say hi to Auntie Widow, but goddamn was it cold! Not only that, but he had gotten his ass handed to him by a wolverine who decided to take over his den when he went to find food, and then he had handed its ass right back to it! But not before getting a few good hits, and now his face and shoulder and neck bled and they wouldn't stop. Each pulse and ripple of his muscle and twitch of his face brought on fresh waves of pain, and he was too far from home to get there for help. Medusa had told him where to find Widow's pack, and now here he was, slinking up in hobbling fashion toward the borders of Hellborn. Shaking, shivering, and tremoring from the cold and pain. The tattered cloak he had found was soaked through and no longer helped to protect him from the elements. He had gotten turned around and so it had been at least three days since his encounter with the vicious little beast, and it was safe to say he wasn't feeling the best. He struggled with the mud. The frozen ground. Menace, for once in his life, worried for the young wolf as they slowly and painstakingly made their way to Auntie Widow. He couldn't quite figure out where the borders were what with his nose feeling frozen and his vision appearing blurred, and before he knew it, he collapsed on the muddy ground, moaning and groaning from the pain and discomfort he felt. "Where are they!? Ripper's going to die heeerreee!" He wailed, distraught and upset. |

Her attempt at a hunt had been only that and Widow was making her way back home empty handed. It wasn't a surprise however, with the cold season bringing snow. Her ravens were flying ahead of her, however a sudden pair of caws alerted her as they flew back to her, seemingly eager for her to follow them to whatever they had found.
She hadn't expected it to be another wolf, and certainly not one of Medusa's own children. She thought it was a bit interesting that he had ventured this far, and for what exactly? However, she cast her thoughts aside when the familiar metallic scent of blood hit her. She rushed over, letting her silver eyes look over his wounds.
They looked to be a few days old, perhaps infected from lack of treatment. There were other problems too, though she had no doubt that Crux could heal him. He certainly wouldn't make the trip back to Insomnia like this, anyway. Dipping her head back, she called for Crux to come immediately to her den if he could, though she had no real way of knowing if he was around to hear. She could only hope that he would come, but until then, decided that it would be best to get Ripper out of the cold and into someplace warm.
"Can you walk?" she asked the boy, hoping he could at least lean on her for the trip but given his current state, she'd be surprised if he could.

Just when he thought it might be over for him (dramatic as usual), he could hear a faint voice speaking to him. He peeked an eye open, vision slowly coming into focus as he realized it was Widow. "Oh! Auntie Widow!" He lurched to his paws, swaying and stumbling as his vision swam and head pounded. Teeth chattered and his limbs shook from the cold. "Why's it so cold here! Ugh! Ripper's hurting, cold isn't helping!" He complained as he stepped forward, but apparently that's all he really had in him on his own before he caught himself against Widow's shoulder, using her as support to keep himself steady. "R-r-ripper was coming for a v-v-visit...got in a fight with a-a wolve-r-rine," He spoke through chattering teeth. He would follow her lead, however, as long as it got him out of the goddamn rain and cold! |
