Make It Make Sense

The weather this season was nearly unbearable for the male. He was used to more mild summers, perhaps with a couple of weeks of more intense heat here and there, but not for the duration of the entire season. It was really beginning to wear on him, and although he hadn't been to Auster quite yet, he heard their weather was quite the opposite. He found it strange...one continent was facing blistering heat, the other biting cold...and to top it all off, he had been feeling the occasional tremors every other day at least. Though maybe there were smaller tremors happening everyday too, and he just hadn't noticed them...whatever the case, he decided to retreat from the blazing sun, carefully picking his way down into The Deluge, listening to the sound of running water beneath the earth. Down here was warm at best, but at least it wasn't blazing hot. Not to mention, the water underground was a welcome relief. He leaned down to drink some, even going as far as dipping his feet into it to try and cool off. He supposed this was better than the freezing temperatures he'd been hearing about in Auster. Easier for him to cool down, as he didn't like to be bundled up too much.

He thought about what next season might bring. If it was as hot as it was now in Boreas, maybe the Fall season would finally offer some respite and cool things down? And what about Auster? Would it continue to freeze and flood? He had to admit...some more rain would be awfully nice. He wouldn't mind some of that in the coming season. Though he was interested to see Auster with his own eyes, to compare the two differences. For now, he'd just have to speculate, however, and hope that the coming season would bring relief. If it got any hotter than this, he was sure he'd melt from it. Or maybe he'd consider heading down to Auster and staying there until things cooled down again. He really didn't like the heat around here, it was miserable for him to say the least. His comparisons and speculation were certainly worth bringing up to Medusa, or perhaps the pack as a whole...would they move to escape the heat? Unlikely...it was far easier to move a smaller group of wolves as opposed to a well established pack. So maybe that idea was out the window, honestly. Sighing, he climbed out of the water, and almost as soon as he did, another tremor started. The ground shook, rattling him along with the earth. The water sloshed and licked over the edge of the earth that contained it, he could hear the fall of stones further in, and even a few were loosened nearby. His fur bristled and he quickly made his way back to the surface. No was was he going to get caught up in getting trapped down there! No, he was going to return home and discuss his theories with the others, maybe come up with some plans just in case things got worse...
