You'd think that, after nearly drowning and also getting into a ridiculous brawl with a sturgeon, Davey would shy away from water. Something about fool me once, shame on you... fool me twice, shame on me? Does that apply to the laws of nature? Does that applies to the law of being a child and a bit of an idiot? Certainly not.
He'd fallen into the water a bit further south, and instead of scrambling up on the banks, Davey just went with the flow. It could only carry him so far before hitting land, and the summer warmth was enough to keep him from catching his death with the chill. Finally dragging himself out of the sea and stumbling to the shore, he's... okay he's more than a little lost. Farther north than he'd ever been, but the day was still young and he was bound to explore it.
Wide eyed and excitable, he winds his way from the sea. Does it strike him that a pack lives here? Only too late. Hopefully cute puppy privelege would have his back, because damn, it's a bit chilly when you're exposed up here. A cool breeze of the sea, one that cuts through his thin coat. Wild eyed, Davey takes in the world around him. Rocky floor, trees taller than any he's seen in a long time. All of them tinged with red sky, leaving his view of the world... a bit weirder than usual. Being a big puppy in a wide world like this is such a wild concept. All Davey knows for sure is that he's north, far more north than he thought was possible. It's pretty wicked, come to think of it.

Did her mother care about her? Or ever? Or will ever?
Thoughts plague her. Torment her. Wrench her heart in every direction. It SUCKS. But she knows she has a father now! Which is good? Or would be good if he ever stuck around. But from what her mother grumbles, he's not worth anyone's time. So there goes another parent. Man, was she ever going to be loved?
More plaguing thoughts trail behind in her wake as she trots across the rocky bridge that spans between the island and the mainland. Mags enjoyed the mainland a lot more than the island, but returning to the island was necessary. Being smacked or chastised by mother wasn't fun so she at least needed to check in every day. Her brow furrows with this realization, paws taking her to toward the den without really paying attention.
She'd crossed this rock covered land so many times, she didn't need to look. Not until an unfamiliar scent brought her up to a screeching halt. Paws skid in the dirt, eyes wide as she looks around the tree covered expanse of slate. There, unknown to her, a figure of white and brown. Definitely not an Elysium wolf that she'd ever seen. Fur bristles as she marches over, ears flattening and lips lifting.
"WHO'RE YOU!?" Mags barks, the sharp tang of clipped vocals coming out a bit too high pitched as she glowers at the boy.
Desponia & other family members are welcome to enter her threads until she is 2 years old.
Magdalene's antlers will not be fully grown until she is 1 year old. They will shed yearly similar to a normal deer.
Her most colorful markings are imbued with bioluminescence that glow brighter the wetter her fur is.
Expect her companions to be nearby, but not always within sight.

He's enchanted by it, actually. There's so much to see and so many things to smell, up here. Wolves. Wolves to smell. Wolves who weren't him, weren't his family, certainly weren't Raiders, and didn't know he was here. What could go wrong? What could go wrong for the boy who barely looks like a wolf and is having way too good a time exploring their home? Shit, is this their home, or do they just... like hang out here sometimes? It's an island, a floating rock, did anyone call floating rocks their home here?
A mountain springs up in the middle, he can see it off in the distance. Could he climb that? Did they climb that? Davey could be they'd be able to see everything from a vantage point like that. But also like, that's tiring. Living up there sounded a bit like ass garbage, having to climb up and down it all the time. Whoever lived up there had to be hella fit. Like, hella hella. The smell of mountain goats is pretty thick too, must have to do with the terrain. Thinking about his ma's goats, they really did like to climb. Holy shit, it's a goat paradise. Maybe they'd have to get a mountain too.
Davey isn't alone with his thoughts for very long, a girl around his age appearing from seemingly nowhere. Though she bristles, his tail only wags in response. The boy's face breaking into a grin, his eyes glimmering in the strange red light of the early afternoon. Really, the whole dog wiggles, with the wag of his tail. "I'm Davey!" He chirps, taking a bold step forward. "I fell into the ocean a ways back, and now I'm here." And here, here he was. She's taller, broader, than the boy. Gazing up at her, he can't help but grin.

When he doesn't retaliate or react in fear, Mags instantly shrinks back from her intimidating posture. His wagging tail, no, wagging body is a clear sign that he's friendly. And really, when she looks, like REALLY looks at him, is he even a wolf? His snout is so... weird looking and his ears? They don't point up. Now that she's close, Mags is kinda awestruck? Speechless? What are words again?
"You fell into the water?" She ignores his name at first because what? Who falls in the ocean and just isn't concerned? "Do you do that often?" Her brow furrows, muzzle wrinkling in confusion. "You're weird," Mags huffs a warm breath of air in his direction before turning back toward the island. "This is my home. What're you doin' here?" Nose turning upward, eyes flicking open to train on the rising rocks ahead of them. Had this once been a volcano?
If she were being truthful, living out here sucked. Having to climb the slick rock all the time and man, you really did have to be buff to live on this island. But she was big and traversing tough terrain was well, fuck, tough. "I'll let you explore if you want," she turns her nose up, eyes darting to the edge to look at him from the corner. The slight waver of the tip of her tail being the only giveaway that she's just fucking with him. Because if were being honest, she's also not full wolf. One could see it if they looked close enough, but we're not pointing that out.
"See those trees? It's like the coolest spot to be on the island," Mags lifts a paw to point at a cluster of trees not far up the mountain's side.

Hey, to be fair, she doesn't look the most like a wolf he's seen. Something about her broad face, and the way she's put together... the two of them are uncanny valley wolves. That's it, that's the new breed. It has no requirements, only that they look... something like a wolf but also enough not to be... something else. Yeah, uncanny valley, like mackenzie valley wolves but also not. Way cooler. Maybe they could form a club, except then he'd have to invite Baitboy, and things would get really uncool really fast.
The girl is cool, the place is cool, and that's really all he can ask for-- right? Davey wags his tail, taking a bold step toward the girl, as soon as it looks like she's not going to swing on him. "More often than you'd expect, actually. Dude, I had to keep a fish that was bigger than both of us put together from eating my brother last time. It was a whole thing." He puffs out his chest, proud of the whole incident... even if it had sparked an absolutely wild chain of events. "Explorin' 'n shit, don't mean nothing by it." A grin. A wild grin, one that spreads all over his face and meets his eyes. "Could be weird, but if I wasn't, it would make for a boring adventure."
The shifting of slick rock beneath his feet is a new challenge, one that's really pretty exciting. There was a lot of soft grass back home, and not so many trees. They had like... like so many trees here. So, so many. "Come on, then, show me the cool shit!" Wiggling, kinetic. All of Davey is kinetic, buzzing with energy and excitement. "Hey I told you my name, who're you?" He leers after a moment, figuring he should know who his guide is, if they're going to go wandering. It's time to explore damnit!
