Call to arms
Fight training

With a deep breath, Widow finished preparations for the training session she was about to announce. Perhaps it would be wiser to train within the woods, but the field to the west offered space the woods did not have. Lessons could be modified to work for the woods, and she could even do that here or potentially if the others were interested, hold another session later focusing on stealth and using their home turf to their advantage. Right now, however, Widow only intended on covering the basics unless her wolves craved more.
A second deep breath filled her chest as she tilted her head back and called for her wolves, anyone that wanted to work on becoming a better warrior. Hopefully more than just a few showed up, even if fighting wasn’t their thing. Everyone would have to protect the pack when the time came for it, but she didn’t want to make this mandatory… but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t make the next one so if few arrived today.
Once a gathering of her followers arrived, Widow waited some moments to see if others would come before beginning. ”Thank you for coming today. It’s only going to be a matter of time before other packs start knocking on our door, trying to take our supplies in what’s called a raid. Sometimes, there are friendly raids, mostly just practice where alpha’s agree to cause little harm. Most other times however, these attacks are a surprise, an attempt to catch us off guard,” she began, pausing briefly to look at each follower that had joined. ”We don’t ever want to be caught off guard. The walls of our forest do limit raiders on where they can attack us from, but the forest isn’t the only place they can strike. Today, we’re just going over some basics and strategies before moving on into the forest and eventually to the canyon to cover more specific strategies in those locations.” she came to a pause again, letting it sink in for a moment.
”So, out here in the open field, what are some advantages and disadvantages you can think of?” she questioned with a light smile, wondering how much her followers already knew.

Reaper heard the call of his Queen from deep within the forest. His red tipped ears swiveled to catch the song. His gate turned up into a tarot as he trotted his way towards the sound of the howl. When he reached the area, he dipped his head respectfully towards the Queen of Hell. "My Queen." He bowed slightly before straightening. He would then wait patiently to see who else would arrive for the session.
Once the others gathered, he would be quite the listen with intent as Widow spoke. She wanted to know the advantages and disadvantages of being in such a wide open space. Reaper racked his brain for answers. "We're more exposed out here. One disadvantage would be that there is no cover to hide ourselves but that is also an advantage to us as our enemy cannot hide either." He spoke out loud, directing his words to the Queen.

Widow's call was a beacon to the Goetia prince day and night, and whenever her voice reached his auds, the brute came running. When the Queen of the Hells' summons went out, Stolas quickly stashed his book of arcana and sigils away to go join the collective. He knew of Widow's desire to get the rest of Hellborn combat effective so they could start protecting their home more readily and he was all on board for learning and honing his skills as her husband. Arriving at the field just beyond the reach of the woods, Stolas smiled at his queen, coming up to nose her cheek affectionately while sparkling eyes roamed down her form, lingering on the subtle swell of her midsection. Their family was growing.
With greetings exchanged, Stolas stepped aside to go sit beside the only other wolf in attendance and give Widow the floor—only for his nose to scrunch up when he realized Reaper smelled like a week old game kill left out in the sun. Doing his best to not react out loud, the prince shifted further to the side to sit on his own and give Widow his full undivided attention. Widow's first question was a good one—what advantages could they have out in the fields beyond the forest? Reaper addressed the obvious line of sight benefit and detriment to both sides. Fighting in an open field was extremely exposed. "It also leaves both ourselves and our foes exposed to the elements. Rain, snow, sleet..." he added on to Reaper's answer. "A benefit of open space is a lack of any obstacles or pitfalls for us to watch out for. We don't need to worry about tripping over fallen tree limbs or being pushed into trunks or rocks."
