This was a part of the land Alaric had not yet traversed. It was a dangerous land, filled with tar pits and massive skeletons that littered the earth. Behind him lugged his two Cane Corsos, Maul and Cinder. The trio moved through the land carefully until a clearing was found within all the chaos. A suitable clearing for a battle, wedged between two tar pits and a massive skull. Alaric smirked and lifted his head. He was calling for a challenger. He wanted to fight amongst the fallen and test his skills once more.

Come down, come down sweet reverence

One could travel a territory a dozen times over and still not see everything it had to offer. This fact made exploration much more enjoyable. Taking a bit of time to wander she found herself back at the Tar Pits. It had been a long time since she'd ventured this way. Jynn wasn't overly fond of this territory. It stank terribly was one of the more inhospitable areas though one could find a number of interesting items and skeletons left to the pits by unfortunate victims.

As Jynn ventured deeper into the pits the land grew more jagged, the earth seeming as if it had fractured and the pieces smashed into each other. Large bones were scattered across the area, belonging to some strange creatures. As she neared one of the tar pits she watched as yellowish smoke drifted up into the night sky, dulling the normally black appearance to a murky brown. Ahead of her she saw a massive ribcage as well as a large horned skull. Long vertebrae trailed back behind the creature.

Jynn sat transfixed before a call caught her attention, a call for a challenger! She was surprised to learn there was another here and even more surprised they wished to fight but it was a tempting challenge. To battle here required great sense of one's surroundings. One wrong step meant death…

Thrilled by the idea she headed to the source and saw a familiar scarred man. Not one for a solid memory she debated whether they had met before but either way she shot him a friendly smile. "I'll take you up on your challenge!" She swiftly set her defenses, eyes gleaming and eager for action.

It didn't take much time before his challenge was accepted. Off in the distance, a familiar orange pelt was spotted amongst the bones and tar. When the figure grew closer, Alaric recognized them immediately. He dipped his head towards them, a smirking forming on his blackened maws. "We meet again." He rumbled towards them. "Alaric, if you remember." He told her. His gaze danced over to his companions. "They will sit this one out. Just you and me." He told the fox looking wolf. Maned wolf, if he recalled correctly. He immediately set his defenses into place. His stance widened for balance, his claws dug into the earth for stability, his tail rose aligned with his spine for better balance. He tucked his chin to protect vital organs, his eyes narrowed slightly to keep debris out of them. He nodded to Jynn to show he was ready before charging forwards. Alaric's maws would splay open as he charged. He darted to the side last minute, feigning a false charge forward. His body twisted until he was perpendicular to Jynn. His maws were not open and sought the side of her neck as he attempted to latch onto the area.

The man soon cleared up any confusion, reintroducing himself. Jynn swiftly let her embarrassment go and got into her battle stance. "A pleasure to spar you again, Alaric." He instructed his companions to sit out the fight and she looked to her's, nodding the same. She was going to need her focus for this one as Alaric had already proved himself an exceptionally skilled opponent.

Her ears pinned to her head, tail tucked and her hackles raised. Her mane stood tall as she widened her stance, her shoulders rolling forward and her long neck scrunching back. He charged for her, seemingly head on at first and just as she was about to move he slipped to her left side. Jynn quickly ducked her head, flinching as his lower fangs cut the the skin across the top of her neck. She flung her head to her left, jaws out as she tried to catch the tender flesh between Alaric's left shoulder and his chest.

Alaric's maws caught the top of the neck of Jynn but briefly as the maned wolf stepped away by ducking her head. His maws clamped down onto air and Alaric let out a frustrated snarl. He refocused just in time to see Jynn coming for the area between his shoulder and chest. Alaric's maws twisted into a smirk. He would move back away just in time to feel a clump of his fur being ripped from his chest, but no flesh. Only the sting of ripping fur. Now that he had Jynn close down towards his shoulder he would attack. He would take the shoulder she had aimed close to and attempted to slam it directly into Jynn's nose in a harsh jam to the face. He hoped the move would bloody her nose and cause the maned wolf to back away.

The man moved back and Jynn's fangs snagged only his fur. She swiftly spat it out and ducked, all to aware of the dangers of being in close proximity to her opponent. She quickly pushed herself back, seeking to add a bit of distance between the two of them for her to re-evaluate and as she did she felt the man's shoulder skim across the top of her head, his attack displaced when she ducked. Shit, that was close! Jynn then kicked off hard seeking to dive to his left side, head twisting in as she sought to catch the flesh just behind his left armpit. She hoped for a glancing blow, not seeking to get a hold that could prevent her momentum.
