Summer days and strange happenings, though it seemed no one had gotten to the bottom of things yet. If you want something done right, do it yourself. Viktor would find the rest of the family in due time. They're here, and a priority of course, but... well, he could kill two birds with one stone. There's more for trade in the market than goods. Rumors, secrets. He'd arrived empty handed and slipped from the place far richer. Profiting on the loose lips of others is a skill, and one he'd already honed. Sharper than any blade, Viktor would use his brain before ever lifting a sword. Predominantly, there's a rumor about the goings on in the Shimmering Shore. Though he was still getting a lay of the land, the whispers said it was to the south, across a land bridge. Tunnels in the earth had opened up, and wolves were going in circles trying to explore them. He could work with that. No rumors of his family... good. Flying under the radar, for now. Getting their feet under them. All things he could more than work with. It's early afternoon when he departs. Best not to take too much time, not to let them learn his face. Slipping from the market and heading south, resting beside the first clear pool of water he finds. The waterfall's roar conceals much of the sound, an artificial sense of security. It's enough. Lowering his dark muzzle to take a long drink, Viktor will rest here before planning his next move. |

his journey brought him far north. passing the market on the way back, he had been looking for a present for his soon-to-be wife with no avail. but before home he would stop for rest, closure to his paws that had been incredibly busy these days. star, then Alex- the dunamis were growing by the week. and he had much to do. but as he arrived, he spots them before he smelt them; an ashen figure that dare he say,- was familiar. slowly, he walked up to the pool with eyes fixated on them. ears flickering, Érebos sized them up before seeing their face in full view. "Viktor!" he barked, enthused with the surprise. "I have been waiting for you." he closed their gap, coming to sit next to them, his scrutiny put to rest by now. "How was the journey, brother?" he chuckled a hearty laugh.

He isn't alone for long. Ever observant of his surroundings, Viktor doesn't drop his guard. Incapable of it, actually. Can't drop the guard, can't let anyone get the jump on him. Being alone, being exposed like this, is not ideal. Ah, to not be alone. His older brother appeared, as if by a trick of the fates. From a distance, it seems like a mirage, but Viktor knows better. He'd let Érebos close the distance, come into shouting distance. It's then that he moves to meet the man half way, sitting beside the crystal clear pool. No need to scheme now, at least. They're together once more. "I went to the market looking for rumors, somehow it's more comforting to hear none about you and the others, yet." The shadow of a smile against his lips, at the corners of his eyes. "Long, but uneventful." His words are warm, lowering his muzzle to drink from the pool once more. "How do you find this place? Is it what we hoped for?" A broad question, but ah, it would allow Érebos to speak his piece. There's much to learn. |

they caught up-, their interaction easy and free flowing. a refreshing experience compared to the rest he's had this week. with so much happening with the pregnancy, the raid meeting- Érebos was happy to sit & small talk for a little while.. especially to someone he related heavily to like Viktor. his arrival was greatly appreciated. "Yes, I'd hope so. The family is still so sheltered in for the time being." he sighed, looking ahead over the pool as his voice became more settled and poised. "We take up in a pack called Insomnia. I will tell you more about it when we get there." ah, yes. Érebos too, was cautious- not comfortable speaking about their residence in such a place that swelled with visitors. "Are you up for more? We can rest here for the night if you need, Viktor." his thick accented voice sailed from his lips, his eyes patient on the male dunamis.
is it what we hoped for? a warm smile plastered on his maw then. "Yes. And more. You are an uncle soon, dearest brother." Viktor was the first to be made aware, as even enyo did not know. so much to be filled in with, Érebos was eager to guide Viktor home. "And happy birthday. You missed our celebration, but I assure you we will celebrate next season with me and our sister."

They settle, the companionship easy. Plenty of things passed between the brothers, but most of all, the ease of knowing. So much had passed between the pair, and Viktor didn't have to be nearly as on edge as usual. Picturesque, as they rest within the placid scene. "Mm, just for now. We should get moving soon, before the winter comes, no?" Already speculating, already planning ahead. Summer was in decline, Viktor could feel it on the breeze and see it in the tops of trees. Autumn, and then winter. There was little time to waste. "We can go. Catch me up on the way." A request, though it's not so much worded as one. Érebos should understand. Viktor is eager, ready to be settled. Ready to put the road behind him, with so much work to be done. "Insomnia," he nods, tasting the name in his mouth. It's not so foreign that it tastes strangely, but Viktor holds it there for a moment regardless. The good news, layers of good news, are enough to make his brows lift in surprise. "You're kidding... that's fantastic. Congratulations." Leaning in to rest his chin on the taller man's forehead for a moment. Affection, though in short supply, was warranted. "There's time to celebrate when we're settled." His tone has returned to something businesslike. Viktor wasn't keen to waste time on frivolities, already climbing to his feet and readying himself. They'd continue on, shortly. "Tell me about the woman you've chosen." There's much to learn, and for now, he'd rely on Érebos for the basics. |

Viktor was easily liked, mannered and logical. the best friend Érebos always wanted. someone he could rely on and trust next to Kronos. entirely compatible siblings, the way they went about life was complimentary if not similar. "Thank you." Érebos closed his eyes, receiving their brief gesture of affection. lookin at Viktor again, it was clear the other was ready to settle down in the land of boreas. "Yes, of course." he led the way then, parallel to his brother before continuing on. "You will make a fine uncle. Her name is medusa. an uncanny woman, older than me. she is priceless in her devotion towards her family. a great mother figure-, she's built her own legacy from the ground up." he was proud to call her his mate. "the ceremony takes place in a few weeks. We are expecting our litter to be due sometime after the wedding." Érebos had been very, very busy. keeping himself on the straight line his elders had given him. get a foothold, then multiply. he did just that.
"I did have something else in mind for you though, dearest Viktor." he wondered if his sibling was up to hear it, and consider. glancing at his brother for a moment before turning his relaxed gaze back ahead. if anyone was fit for the task he had in mind, it was Viktor dunamis.
