Much like his mother who had entered these lands before him, Alexander approached the strange land that had appeared. He had been through the west, he knew he had, and this land had not been here when he first came through. Yet that was impossible, wasn’t it? It had to be. Yet… this land appeared ancient. The strange stones that were here were weather worn and bleached pale. Under the crimson sky they just looked red to his eyes, however. He frowned, glancing up at the strange sky. “Divinities protect us.” He sent a silent prayer up to those he believed in and turned back toward the strange land. He had a hunch it was dangerous and yet he wanted to see more. Tail swishing, Alexander began his exploration.

Úlfr didn't know what to make of the ruckus that had occurred the night before. He could only assume it was the work of the gods. But what they were up to he certainly didn't know. Still it begged exploration and truth be told he didn't have to much to attend to so why not see what was going on?
He arrived to see the strange spires stretching up, a feat of engineering he couldn't comprehend and it immediately filled him with dread. This was not a good place. His ears twitched as he heard a voice and saw a young man also exploring. Úlfr cleared his throat. "I don't suppose you have any more idea of what these things are than I do? I have never seen the like."
He padded close to one and squinted at the carvings. Taking a paw pad he gently brushed some dirt and debris off to reveal a screaming face. Úlfr flinched. "I have a bad feeling about this place."

A voice breaks his thoughts, and Alexander looks to see a stranger there with him. His question is met with a shake of his head. “The closest I’ve even heard of is an event with worms, though the two accounts of it were different… locations the wolves seemed to be brought to. And this? This is far different from either of those tales.” Alexander furred his brow. “But it is much the same in nature. Sudden, strange…” The stranger commented on having a bad feeling about the place and Alex gave a nod.
“As do I. It is best to keep our guard up.” He drew closer to one of the spires, noticing how the ground had shifted in firmness. What was more, he noticed just above the soil a carving upon it. He scooped out a couple pawfuls of dirt and, sure enough, more was seen. Just as he was about to call to his companion the wind began, a wailing rising through the area. Alexander’s fur bristled and he cast a sideways glance at his companion.
“We’d better figure this out quickly. It feels as if the area itself is warning us.” He gestured to the markings on the spire. “This looks like some beast, yeah? Maybe it is the cause of this place, like the giant worms my family members faced down.”
