With Wake hanging somewhere in the background, barely supervising, Mercy takes to the Battlefield. It's pretty exciting, actually. She's excited. There had to be something to this fighting business, something more than smacking on her siblings. Finally feeling like herself again after whatever had happened that got them swept out to sea (her fault) (not that she'd admit it), it's time to buckle down. Time to get to business! It's all very exciting, honestly.

Just as her uncle had explained, the girl finds one of the large rings carved haphazardly into the dirt. You stand out there and you make your call. Let them know you're here. The pup howls, looking for anything... looking for trouble, of course. Come on, let's brawl.

Tension defines his muscles as he prowls through the deserted plateau. Tumbleweeds grace his presence as bare trees creak in the quiet wind. Above him, the sky is still a bright, violent red color. So bright that he almost could not tell if there had been blood spilled from recent battles. The phenomenon unnerved him and made his brain itch. Something deep in his instinctual urges told him he needed to fight.

Raumr had not expected to approach a pup. While the pup was large compared to others, it was a pup nonetheless. Were they here alone? The thought perturbs him, but not enough that he'll turn down the training session. He'll go easy on the kid, but not too easy.

Stopping a few feet away, his bold, amber eyes assess the pup. His face nods gently as an easy smile crosses his scarred lips. This liger was no foreigner to battle. "Your move," Raumr's deepened honey sweet words tumble out, tail flicking anxiously behind him.

Ah shit... well, she hadn't been expecting a massive fucking cat of all things. Mercy throws a glance over her shoulder, gaze searching for Wake. She could still see his outline, smell the smoke from his pipe, but he's too far to actually make any expression out. Shit was he even paying attention?

It doesn't matter, there's no being chicken shit about this. Mercy offered a grin, trying to look confident. Trying, but what's there to say it was actually working. Drawing to her full height and trying to psych herself up with a rowdy little dance on too-big paws, the girl will take the challenge in stride.

Lowering her head and taking off at a run, she dives toward the liger's side. If she's able to get there, then she can tag the cat in the sensitive spot just behind the elbow. Just have to be mindful of the claws, keen gaze trying not to fixate on them too hard. Shit, this was a lot different than beating on the other Raider pups.

Raumr stands still, legs loose enough that his joints aren't locked into place. He watches keenly as the pup psyches themselves up for what happens next. It's cute and brings a chuckle up from his chest. Maybe he would let her win so she could have something to boast about back home...

Noticing how the pup runs for his side, he doesn't move. His head twists, turning to watch the pup reach up for the sensitive spot behind his elbow. Someone has been teaching her, clearly. A rumbling growl echoes in his ribs as he reaches his opposite paw around to swat at the pup to bring some space between them. Allowing the pup to regain composure and try again.

He's loose, keen-eyed. Mercy does her best to mirror that energy, making sure she doesn't go stiff from the stress. Fighting a whole ass big cat... she could do this. She could do this, right? Confidence was going to get her far, and she's working on building it now.

A great rumbling from the cat, her eyes going wide. Mercy wouldn't panic, not now, though the sound strikes a chord within her. Eyes going wide, though she takes the brunt of the swat in stride-- or at least she tries to. Stumbling backward for a moment, though undeterred. Shaking it out, Mercy lunges for the cat once more. It's with great effort that she grounds over her hind legs, reaching for his shoulder. Though she'd failed to account for his luxurious mane, she's doing her best with her puppy teeth.

He watches with fiery amber eyes as the pup stumbles back and quickly recovers. It is clear to him that it is not her first time fighting, but she still needs practice. Needs to grow and learn and hone her skills. Raumr won't fault the pup for her determination, but also question why she was allowed alone in such a dangerous place. Did she not know that someone could swoop her up in a matter of moments with no questions asked?

Perhaps he would question her after their fight. Now, now he needed to be on guard. He tracks her to his shoulder where the end of his mane tumbles down in lush waves. A pleased rumble of a laugh vibrates his chest as sharp puppy teeth latch onto him, trying to dig through the thick hair and fur. "Girl, why did you not go for my paws or ankles?" Raumr questions, laughter in his deep, honeyed tones as he once more lifts a paw in an attempt to swat her off of him.
