She'd throw herself at the battlefield again. It doesn't matter where, as long as she's not home, right? Wake was hovering somewhere near by, the scent of cannabis smoke and poppies lingering on the stiff breeze. Autumn was coming, hot on their heels. Hotter than she could even dream of, right? It would be pretty cool to see everything shifting again, all new and shiny. Everything is exciting, the least of which whatever had been causing the trembling in the ground and the strange red skies. Nothing was going to slow her down.
Right. Battlefield time. Finding her way to the middle of a different haphazardly carved ring in the dry earth, Mercy tips her head back. A challenger, bring her a challenger. Ideally bring her a challenger that isn't a whole ass cat this time... or do, actually. He'd been pretty fun, pretty nice to her, after all. It doesn't matter so much, Mercy just wants to brawl.

The call came true to her ears, and the lavender pup was quick to accept. Ravana’s lilac-touched eyes glinted with morbid curiosity as she watched the other girl, a faint smirk curling at the edge of her maw as she drew closer. Her mother’s presence lingered nearby, Absinth’s shadowy form never far from her precious daughter, as if always watching, always knowing.
Her voice, soft yet piercing, slithered into the air, just loud enough for the other girl to hear. “Looking for a plaything, are you?” she chimed, the wicked glee unmistakable.
A childish giggle, laced with something darker, danced in her tone. She tilted her head, wide eyes never leaving the girl. “Mother says the world shifts to make room for those who crave chaos… are you the same?”
Ravana’s smile widened, showing just the faintest gleam of her growing dagger-fangs, a haunting promise lingering as she whispered, “Hello. I am Ravana Saxe. And I like a challenge.” Had she ever introduced herself as such before today? The look in her eyes said: You first.

Mercy comes to life as a girl around her age crests the hill, comes closer. There's a buzzing excitement to her, shifting her weight as her new opponent arrives on the battlefield. The resonating, childlike giggle is one that Mercy reflects. She's not the most innocent card in the deck either, and not to be underestimated. "'Course I am, why else would I even come?" Tossing her head, rolling her shoulders back. The energy in her too much to hold back.
"No need for the world to shift, I'll move it myself." Sure, it's a little boastful, but Mercy doesn't care. She doesn't need to care. Fluffing her coat out, standing tall on her long legs, there's something wild about her. Untamed or unhinged, same difference really. "Saxe... I met your brother the other day, we took out a whole ass bear." Maybe not her brother, but the purples are too close not to take the guess. Maybe it was like back at home, where she had her siblings and not-siblings all the same. Whatever. Close enough. "Mercy Fallen." Confident grin, as she begins to pressure the space between them.
There's a ferocity as Mercy closes the gap. Sure, they're playing, but they're also sparring. Her long legs eat the distance between them, closing in on the girl with speed and precision. Lashing out, going for Ravana's closest ear with sharp teeth. Gaze always keen, shifting unsettlingly in the light. Likely a few months younger, but every bit as tall, she was going to have a damn good time with this one.

Ravana’s ears perked, her lavender eyes narrowing with intrigue as Mercy spoke of her encounter with one of her kin. Her mind raced through the possibilities, envisioning the variety of savagery each of her brothers could display. Zagan, Xairo, Dracun, Ludovic, Abyss… Any one of them could have caused major harm to a bear by now. That much she was sure of. Mother made sure of it. But killed it? Unlikely. A dark grin flickered over her maw, the thrill of that imagined battle feeding the glint in her gaze. Yet she did not insult the other girl with doubtful speech.
“Which of my kin have you met?” she purred, letting the words drawl out with casual menace, her tone dripping with an almost possessive pride. She had to know. Needed to know. “Whoever it was… well, if you liked them, then you’ll love me.” She tossed her head, her lavender-touched coat catching in the light as her smirk deepened. She held her ground, refusing to yield even as Mercy closed in, feral energy crackling between them like a silent dare.
“Fallen, hmm? I don’t know the name, but I’d like to.” she echoed, testing the name with a low chuckle that was neither warm nor welcoming. “Let’s see how far you’re willing to fall.”
As Mercy lunged for her ear, Ravana tried to whip to the side with a fluid, almost mocking grace, feeling the snap of her teeth against their mark. She reveled in the pain and sting, the affirmation of her new playmate’s ferocity. Quick as lightning, she retaliated, her own teeth flashing as she aimed for Mercy’s scruff, intending to yank her down and assert her ground. Her grin widened as she felt the thrill of the game seep into her blood, relishing the sharp edge between play and fight.

The menace, the possession, it's something that brings a grin to Mercy's face. Imagine actually liking your brothers? If someone had told her they'd encountered Rip, she'd probably apologize. Annoying fucks. Maybe she'd eventually grow to appreciate them, like Ravana seemed to. "Zagan," her tone is a little lilting, a little sing-songy. Rocking over her paws as the words fall from her lips. "It's okay, I'm the coolest one." Other than like, her mom. And grandma. The whole line of badass women, but Mercy would settle for being the coolest one of this generation.
Bristling, she feels Ravana's teeth connect on her crystalline scruff. The fur is thick and sharp, though the sting of the bite cuts through. Good, they're really playing now. Muscles flexing, she grounds herself, not allowing the heavier girl to take her to the dirt. Using the close quarters to her advantage, Mercy strikes out with her foreleg, attempting to scaffold up and pressure Ravana down instead. Her teeth are working overtime, snapping wildly-- it would look disorganized as an attack, but really, it's a diversion. Whether or not they find purchase is of no consequence to her, and to her plan.

Ravana’s eyes gleamed with recognition at the mention of Zagan. Yes, she could see it now—her brother’s sharp grin, that twisted confidence, the thrill he’d feel in Mercy’s defiance. A sickly pride bloomed within her, her lips curling into a smile that danced along the edge of something sickly sweet. She absorbed Mercy’s bold claim to be “the coolest” with cool delight, savoring the thought of finding out if that was the truth.
“Oh, Zagan,”she drawled, knowing lacing her words. What had that boy been up to? Bonding with the inconsequential? “So, you’ve met the least charming one.” Well, it didn't matter though, what were the chances the girl would meet the rest of them?
She could feel Mercy’s snapping teeth grazing her face, the sting of each grazing bite feeding that writhing, hungry need inside her. Pain? Oh, yes, that was part of the fun—each bruise a memento to carry. She held her ground, allowing each strike to skate across her skin, almost welcoming it, letting the fire simmer beneath her lavender fur. Fanning the flames and all that—fuel to continue the fight.
Then, as her jaws met the strange, crystalline fur on Mercy’s scruff, she couldn’t help but feel a clinical fascination. Crystals, embedded like shards of glass in Mercy’s skin, scraping against Ravana’s own teeth and gums. Did they hurt when struck? How deep did they go? Her mind spun in detached curiosity, not with concern, but with a scientist’s obsession—she could practically feel the joy of prying those crystals out, one by one, seeing how far down they grew… where they would bleed, or if they would bleed at all. Were they connected to the bone?
Mercy’s strength surged against her, and Ravana felt the force tug her balance away. Her eyes glinted with an eerie calm as, instead of resisting, she allowed herself to fall into it, embracing the pull and letting herself roll with the girl’s momentum.
