Wylan trotted to the s.s. Antiox to check out the odd prey animals and see what needed doing. He hadn’t done too much hunting lately, and knew he needed the practice. Oleander and Vesper had decided to tag along, so they almost had a complete hunting party. They arrived in the chilly territory and he took a look around them, looking for prey that didn’t belong, or was acting in a way it shouldn’t.
The Moose stood out pretty quickly, and Wylan nodded his head towards it. “What do you think Ollie, wanna look inside that one?” he asked under his breath to the healer.

Vesper hadn’t had many opportunities to leave the territory since she’d been found by Oleander, so when a hunt was proposed, she had asked him if she could tag along. She used the idea of her gaining skills that he had promised, and what do you know, he agreed. Feeling a little pleased with herself, she trotted along behind the hunters, mostly along for the ride.
She’d very rarely hunted her own prey, only things much smaller than herself. This was going to be a whole new experience, and she was down for it. When Wylan found them a prey, she nudged her way between the winged wolf and the healer to state her own opinion. “I say we go for it.”

He needed another look at these damn things. It was confusing to no end. Was this a brain thing? Was this a type of meningitis? Causing the prey to eat dirt? He followed beside his brother, grateful for his company, and excited to have Vesper try her luck with them too.
Best hunting party in his opinion! Only needed Spider and they'd be set! He followed his brother's gaze as he spotted the moose and flicked his tail, nodding for Vesper to take a look too. The moose was acting strange, dragging its antlers along the ground. He had a feeling the girl had never been allowed to hunt before.
"I think it's good Wyll. Ves, it's bigger than you think it is from here and pretty powerful. There's no telling what'll happen since it's crazed. All we gotta do is kill it and not get kicked." He said quietly. Making sure she was prepared.
"Course of action Wyll?" He asked turning back to Wylan.

Wylan turned his head to the stranger that appeared at the edges of their party. While he wasn’t likely to turn away help in a large and potentially dangerous hunt like this, he wasn’t entirely sure he liked the way he was looking at Vesper. Moving subtly in front of her, he took a step as if to welcome the stranger and grinned at them. “Sounds like a deal, coats yours. We want to take it apart and see what makes it tick.” He explained to the strangers. The loss of the coat was no loss at all.
He angled his head slightly towards Oleander, and considered his words. “If the three of you come at it from the side, i’ll go at it head first and distract it with my wings while you take it down by the legs?” he suggested

Vesper took in Oleander's words, and knew he meant only to help her, so she didn’t take offence to the advice. At least he wasn’t kicking her out of the hunt! She noticed the stranger only when she heard his voice, and she glanced over at the red wolf, and found his eyes on her. There was nothing unfamiliar about his leering and she winked at him. “Looking is free” she told him lazily, before listening to Wylan. So, the game was on and the hunt would begin.
She left the planning up to the giants and their knowledge. She could take out a leg, might even be fun. She nodded her head so they would know she was in.

Ollie glanced at the stranger walking up next to him, considering his words and trying to map out the attack over the terrain. It wasn't until Wylan was subtly moving in front of Vesper and read some of his cues that he took a closer look at the male and narrowed his eyes. He shouldn't be surprised when Vesper goaded the other for looking.
Ollie raised his head and tail and pressed his side into Vesper, his slave. "Anything beyond that loses a limb." He warned him quietly before turning back to the girl. His dark green eyes pierced her blues, warning her not to push it further. This was a hunt, not a social event. If she wanted more of these excursions he didn't want to regret this one.
"Sounds like a plan. You distract it, we pull its legs out." He replied and sank to the ground to ready himself for the launch. Waiting for Wylan to get into position.
As Wylan became the distraction he launched swiftly into action across the northern snows. He aimed for the hock of the beast with his teeth and chining claws.

When his plan was agreed upon by the others, he knew it was time for action. He gave Oleander and Vesper a parting look, hoping they were safe working at the legs of the moose with the leering stranger. Ollie was a strong wolf, and they’d all be distracted with the hunt.
He waited until everyone was in position, and then he shot forward all speed ahead. The young wolf let out a whoop of delight, enjoying the freedom of the run and the hun. When he was close to the startled moose, he fanned his wings out suddenly on either side of him. Attempting to surprise and startle it further. Letting the other wolf take it down with less risk.

Ohhh, boys fighting over her! She was glad she had come along on this hunt. She gave the red wolf a sly grin that wasn’t entirely unwelcoming. Not because she was interested, but because it was clearly twisting Ollie’s tail. Sadly, the hunt distracted them all from the really interesting stuff. Wylan was already pushing ahead, putting himself into danger to give them the opportunity to go for the legs.
When Ollie shot forward, she moved as well, aiming for its side as she attempted to nip at the soft skin and pull down, trying to bow it under the weight of her and the big boys attacking its legs. “The boy that gives the killing blow gets a kiss!” she shouted over her mouthful of skin, knowing, just knowing Oleander's expression would round in shock at that.

Oleander wrestled with the staggering moose, willing to pull it down with all his might. Running his capped claws over the whole leg as it wildly kicked about. He needed to grab one of these stubborn tendons and cut it!
Her words made him jolt and lose his grip on the crazy beast. The distraction made his head spin as he shot a warning glance at the leering stranger who was all too eager to accept her advances. He snarled as he barely dodged a moose kick and leaped back in to sink his teeth into the flesh between rib and shoulder. The moose bellowed and screamed in sudden pain. from their onslaught.

Failure!
As Wylan moves to distract the moose with his wings, the moose begins to lash out in a surge of panic. It bolts to the side, narrowly avoiding the wolves' hunting formation; the others are unable to catch up, the beast staggering slightly from their attacks before it manages to break free and away from the group.
