The chill of winter bit through his pelt. Eltrys meandered up over the falls to the small hut that was the home of Fenix and his children.
He called out to the father, wanting to speak to him, wondering where the potential path for the grey male would lead in this pack.

"Fenix!" He said as he saw the tired and sorrowful eyes he had seen during the meeting. "Walk with me for a while." He beckoned, "I'm hoping to come to know you better. Haydee told me you held the rank of Deputy before. Tell me about it." Eltrys was a teacher and scholar at heart. He would find a way to weave some kind of lesson or import some kind of knowledge into his interactions with his packmates. Was deputy a type of rank Fenix would like to hold again, or would he be interested in the druidic path?

Fenix had been dusting through the dirt when the alpha found him. What would his gods think of him now. Denki must have been disappointed in him and it’s why he had felt this way for so long. Yet it was a nice change being called up was a welcome distraction. His head raised it was so sudden he didn’t have complete time to run his paw over the sculpture of dirt he’d been working on. Fenix gave a sorrowful smile. "Of course Eltrys." he started as he went to join the brown wolfs side. His time as a deputy? "I originally became deputy upon ethne’s founding. Bellamy had given me the role as a place holder, since I previously was going to make a pack which was a dream of my late daughters." but things changed as they did all the time.

"When my mental health began to decline after Bellamy left for the hallows I stepped down though. I was hoping Rivaxsaurus would be trained for deputy but so much went on it never happened." he shrugged. The boy shared a lot of ideals with him. Their gods were the same. "I didn’t…. Do much as deputy so I’m not sure what to share on that front. Unless you count teaching one of Bellamy’s grandchildren to swim." he chuckled half heartedly. Well he was no longer a stranger to making a fool of himself.

Eltrys led Fenix down a path through the thick trees. He had not spent a lot of time here on the plateau of the falls. He perked his ears and turned to Fenix as he heard how he had desired his own pack at one point. Marveling at the history of the man. He had lost a daughter... That would explain his solemn demeanor.

Eltrys nodded as he listened, walking softly over the ground and setting an easy and comfortable pace as they made their way through the trees.

"Life does seem to have a way of upending the best-laid plans. I am saddened to hear of your late daughter's passing. Does she have a place in the gravesite yet? We could make her one. I've placed an effigy of my own mother there alongside Haydee's father and nephew." He offered, watching the older man's expression. Fenix was the prime age for an honorable Elder rank it seemed. He had been part of the pack since its founding, steadfast in attending matters when it was important.

"Rivaxsaurus is welcome to come to me for some duties! There will be many things to do as the season changes and we could always use some young legs. If he applies himself perhaps we could find a kind of deputy rank for him or something that suits." Eltrys was gladdened to hear of an interested member.

"How does your latest progeny fare? They are nigh a year now are they not? I haven't seen Copper much and I wonder if Alexa is ready for the next stage of her training." He wondered aloud. How might the male shift as he spoke of his living children?
