Don't fall in a hole or some shit, was Wake's warning, echoing around between Mercy's ears. He really wasn't great at the whole supervision thing, and that's why she's so fond of him. Wandering toward the Mines without a care in the world, taking in what she can. Staying near the pools of light, not straying too deep-- at least not yet. Exploring, taking careful note of the way this place was built. It couldn't be natural, not most of it. Rotting wooden beams seemed to support some of the sketchier tunnels. Weird. Wonder what would happen if one took a solid kick.

But the yip-yapping of coyotes is never far off. It seemed Mercy had stumbled into one of their dens, a little hidey hole in the stony cavern. Three sets of glowing eyes fixating on the girl, who straightens her posture and takes them in carefully. "Time to play coyote ball, motherfuckers." Hackles up, lunging at the beast directly before her. Snapping and snarling, it's game fucking on.

Ravens cackled and cawed above him as he explored, however once he dove deep into the side of a mountain, many chose to stay behind while only a few accompanied him, for safety of course. Was he trying to lose the ravens? Yes- but losing most of them was better than none.

He thought he was alone, but that was his first mistake. A warning caw from a singular raven alerted him to a presence ahead of him in the mines, but it didn't sound much like a warning. Not yet anyway. He heard the others muffled words but couldn't make them out until the shape of another formed in front of them, but now the babysitting ravens were upset, flapping their wings hard at him in an effort to get him to leave, to let the girl deal with the coyotes herself. Dracun was not the chivalrous type, he could hardly care less about a damsel in distress, but he couldn't just leave her here to fend off three coyotes could he? Would that make mother proud? He doubted it.

Growling as he broke through the ravens attempting to usher him out, he approached from behind the female and appeared at her side. Thanks to the ravens his presence hadn't been exactly secret, so he chose not to introduce himself yet- besides, was there time? As she lunged towards one of the lesser canines, another coyote lunged towards the him, but Dracun was faster and lurched forward with snapping teeth, causing the scavenger to scurry backwards quickly, however it wasn't giving up yet... and neither was Dracun.

The cave distorts sound. Mercy should have expected as much. The way it echoes off the stony walls, the way it seems to get lost in the abyss. There's so much of it, and everything is strange. Mirrors the way she's strange. It's fascinating, actually. Mines drawing her in, but she's scouring for something that isn't ore or precious gems. Scouring, searching, mining for it, if you will. Taking everything in, though she refuses to take it at face value. With rocky floors, she could probably use that to her advantage. At least, if her quick study of the environment has been of any help to her. Yeah, it probably was.

Scruffing the first coyote in her presence, the one she'd already dialed in on, she works quick. Work quick, work deadly. Though the beast puts up a fight and a fuss, Mercy has even more fight within her. A surge of energy, a kick of excitement. Wrapping her jaws firmly around the back of the fucker's neck, the girl throws it to the ground. Though she's built with the same care as a glass figurine, it doesn't mean she's fragile. Strong. Yeah, she's got that strength to her. Snapping her jaws and throwing the thing to the stony floor beneath her, the coyote doesn't get back up.

A boy had joined her, collapsing in on the flank. Hell yeah, brother. Mercy grabs the unoccupied coyote, herding it like she'd seen the wolfdogs in her lineage do. Snapping at its heels, before grabbing a hind leg. "You ever played coyote ball?" Addressing the boy that had joined her at some point, speaking around the leg in her mouth. Holding the beast while it writhed, while it turned to snap at her face. Though the fucker landed a decent hit on her ear, Mercy doesn't relent. Why would she? Fuck yeah.

The girl beside him was strong, likely even able to take on the small pack on her own now that he'd seen her in action. She made quick work of the first coyote and moved onto the remaining one just before he could finish off the one he tussled with. There wasn't much left of the coyote he took on, not of it's life anyway. It had made the fatal mistake of backing away from him initially, only forcing his prey drive and desire for blood to amplify. His fangs had sunk into the throat of the lesser canine and although he was young, he was no stranger to death, to killing. With a lifting paw pressing flat into the coyotes chest, he pushed the thing away and tore out it's throat in one swift movement.

It twitched on the ground a moment as it's life faded, black and red eyes watching it with mild boredom now that his toy was spent. Muffled words from the girl brought his gaze up to meet hers and he smiled at the sight of the struggling and snapping canine. Coyote ball? He couldn't say that he had, but he loved to play games, especially the morbid ones.

"What are the rules?" he rumbled, licking the blood of his mouth and savoring the taste. All the best games had no rules, but this stranger was not a sibling or one of the Saxe brood. She seemed just as wild as he, though, just as morbid, as if she could've been a sister or not-sister. It was an entertaining thought, but after a moment he was grateful she wasn't - sisters were annoying he reminded himself as Xina crept into his thoughts.
