I step down into the sand

Nami RĂșnardottir
Nami's bobbed tail twitched expectantly as she fixed her orange gaze on the water. Her eyes were trained on a speckled fish that had found itself nearly trapped in the circle of sandbar that surrounded the area when the tides recently went out. If it realized it was trapped, it didn't seem to be panicked about it quite yet, making slow circles around a group of rocks beneath the water. It wasn't quite in the shallows, yet its distinct pattern made it easy enough to track where it lingered further out in the depths.
Fishing required immense patience, and for fishing Nami had plenty. She was no less engaged than she had been nearly an hour ago when she'd first started tracking the fish, pacing lazily around the edge of the ring of sand to keep an eye on the fish. It'd make a fine meal, that was for sure- but it'd be far too tricky to take down herself. If only she had some help... a wistful sigh left her lips as she daydreamed about the taste of the nassau grouper.
