Wendigo wasn't like some folks who lived purely for the battlefield, where nothing else mattered except the next fight and the next and the next. He had plenty of interests outside of sinking his teeth into another body like some rabid creature who couldn't help itself. That said, he really, really liked it here and he really, really liked to fight. It was fun and exhilarating, and gave you surprising insight to the minds of other wolves if you cared enough to think about it, and your own mind if you weren't too chickenshit for self-reflection. So the various battlefields of these lands gave him a sort of odd sense of nostalgia not because he had spent a lot of his time on them, but because they all had the same sense to them and put him in mind of a lot of very fun times for him. And, oddly, a sense of nostalgia for what was to come for him if he worked hard enough here. Was it possible to be nostalgic for something that hadn't happened yet? Well, he was. He was nostalgic as fuck for what hadn't happened yet.

Humming softly - and off-key-ly - to himself, he made his way deeper into the land and raised his muzzle to call out a mocking challenge to anyone there.

From what time he has spent on the Battlefield, Raumr has come to learn the different howls of wolves. Some were shaky with nerves, others boomed with over-boosted egos. This one though was different. Was it mocking those around them? Intrigue glimmered in his amber gaze as he prowled over the dusty and bloodstained plateau. It wouldn't take long for him to find the source of the howl. The wolf's off-key humming was soon picked up by his rounded ears. He doesn't appear too different than other wolves he's come across, but the mannerism of being so nonchalant amidst a flurry of violence causes Raumr's head to tilt.

If he was any sort of intelligent, he would agree with his gut sense that this wasn't going to be an everyday, average spar. Truthfully, it lit the fire in his belly. Perhaps this wolf would be of some sort of challenge? Not so easily struck down by his paws or intimidated by the way his towering frame practically glides over the ground. Raumr can't hide the smirk lingering on his scarred lips as he approaches the boy.

"You wish to spar? Let us see how you do against me," he challenges playfully, that glimmer in his eyes growing brighter as he readies his defenses.

Wendigo rolled his head lazily to check out the approaching opponent, and his humming stopped, his eyebrows climbing a moment before his fangs bared in a wicked grin. Oh fun. The cat could talk. It wouldn't be the first time another predator had been drawn to the scent of blood and cries of pain from a battlefield, but he couldn't recall ever having one come up and ask so politely for battle "I rather doubt that," he burbled a chuckle, giving the lion a mocking bow, "but it would be my pleasure to try, kitty cat." With hardly a beat of a pause he sprang into action, jaws snapping for Raumr's elbow even as his metal claws aimed to slash at the lion's belly.
