This was to be the beginning of their glory filled reign. He had not yet had his chance to rule. Eos had brought him down from a throne...though one that was more his than hers and though he had grown resentment for her willingness to thrust power from her grasps he had agreed to follow her. And thus he resented her more for his devotion and love to her. Truth be told--he would do near anything for her. His children were slowly growing into powerful young things and he was pleased with each of the development that had been undergone by each of them. Meinx, Sevan, Cynder, and Vyvienne each had their own personality that they were fighting to uphold. Syren just needed to be re=introduced into the crowd.

Syrinx had been careful in his choice and ultimately he was pleased with the new location for the new Amenti. These caves would be marvelous. Protection was a given and he had no qualm with the darkness. After all, they could all walk out of it. Encumbering themselves in shadows, however, was only that much better of an idea. If they were to be attacked, ever, (by some fool given that) they would know the routes and such of the caves. Their chargers would not. A cruel smile darkened his lips--and he could only regard himself as an oddity, for he thought the most devilish of things and yet they were all to help those of which he loved? Was he dark? Jaded? Confused? Was his flip to switch one day and drown him in his inner thoughts and inhibitions.

A long howl rumbled from his lips and echoed around the mountains. Syrinx could feel as though his voice ricocheted back towards him and it was with almost immediate consideration that he threw his head back and let himself drown in what was his. This mountains--this system. It was his. And he would make it theirs and theirs would be a powerful dominion.

a soft breath, slivering into the entrance and out, fluttered hesitantly before being released into impending afternoon.that was the key to life, air to fill our lungs. her crown descended then, bowing down so that her nose would be towards the earth, as scents surged into her mind. The mountains seemed to be such a wonderful thing, appearing so threatening yet so admiring. The caves that forge around the area will soon become fixed into our minds until we can find our ways around it in our sleeps. It was rather clever, this way we could outwit the enemys. The fools who think its wise to flirt among the territory.

A Powerful and victorious howl would introduce into the open, ravishing away. It had to be known that Amenti wasn't the pack to be messed with, not under a new rule. The king, Her father was powerful, and Meinx [and all the other siblings] would strongly follow into the foot steps and become just as superior.

The kiss of the caves was enough as it sent back his call. The rough and lovable feeling as he overtook his land was something he would not forget. No one would ever forget the reign of the Arkhos. For he was bringing a newness to Alacritis. Something they had not yet seen. He would need to return to Valhalla and tell Chrysanthe of the things he had done--for that was wisest. Nose wrinkled and the boy shrugged his shoulders as Meinx came and she put herself beside him. Did she know that she had potential here? That her application could ascertain herself a high position in the very world? For his kingdom would be revered--this his children would equally be so. "Are you aware of what is to be accomplished here?" Greatness. That was the simplest answer one could form--but there was so much more that was beneath the surface and casual glance at the life he was going to make. He wanted to know what his own daughter thought and what she so planned to make of this. IF she was going to fail him he would love her--of course...but he would be sure not to tolerate someone that couldn't live up to an expectation he would hold for her. admittedly, as his own, she was a great things--but without perseverance she would not keep up such attributes.

And her day had been going so well.

Examining a nearby pebbly beach for flotsam (as well as a few tasty mussels to crack open after seeing bears do it), Arayne had heard the long baritone howl echo across the tundra. Pausing in her endeavor to uncover a small trinket, a twine necklace with a white shell, she pricked her ears and furrowed her brow. Had that come in the direction of her caves? She had been using the painted caverns as a shelter for some time now, although seeing as she left left no scent marks, the only signs of her occupation would be her nest and possibly a few brown hairs. Grabbing the sandy necklace in her teeth, she scrambled up the beach's slopes, shifting into the mile-eating lope her kind possessed, flicking her head upward and letting the necklace slide down her neck so that the white shell bounced merrily against her chest as she moved. If there was somebody in her den, she supposed she would have to find out who it was. She had absolutely no problem with sharing the territory, as she didn't intend to use it forever, but she didn't want to let herself be pushed out of it either.

As she neared the caves, she lifted her nose to scent for the newcomers, but smelled only the ever-present odors of snow, lichen, and rock. The wind was blowing their scent away from her, she realized. She would need to tread carefully.

The rocky crags that housed the caves loomed above her. She kept to the shadows, trying to walk softly. There was very little cover around the caverns, and her reddish-brown pelt stood out lividly against the snow. Hugging the rocks, she slipped up to the mouth of the cave and peered inside carefully. Her eyes widened, and she rapidly withdrew. Sweet spirits, that red wolf was a monster. Arayne growled quietly in frustration. There went her blizzard shelter. She hated backing down, but there was no way she could see herself keeping her den. She backed up silently...

...Then cringed as a twig snapped under her paw. Shit.

She had followed her father faithfully. From the moment he claimed Amenti to when he chose a new home for the pack. She had lingered a few steps behind, blue and silver eyes taking in the scenery of the place she would call home. One of her sisters was ahead of her, following their father closely. Her mind wandered the the possibilities that had been laid out before them. Russet paws carried her into the caves, eyes slowly adjusting the darkness. Nostrils quivered, following her fathers scent, memorizing the layout of the caves.

Slowly, an unfamiliar form came into view, the sounds of her fathers voice echoing up ahead. She stopped, watching as the wolf tried to escape, a growl bubbling in the strangers throat. Unfortunately the trespasser was a klutz and stepped right on a twig. Lips pulled back in a wicked grin, ivory daggers glinting in the dark. "We seem to have a visitor, father." Tones echoed through the caves, surely reaching her fathers ears. The young girl stood in the path of the woman, blocking her only exit. Audits stood at attention, pools narrowing, tail twitched at her hocks.

Slowly, her paws would kiss the cool stone of the caves ground, forcing the woman deeper into the caves, catching her in a trap between herself and her father. A low growl rumbled in her throat. Was she a fool? Did she not know who's territory she had trespassed on to? She would quickly learn. The fiery girl would await her fathers next command, either the woman would escape unharmed, or she would be trapped here. Forever.

Uisge

A growl would rumble in his throat as he heard the howl. A smirk would play onto his lips, teeth biting further into the struggling deer he had within his grasp. With a final twist of his head, the sickening scream of his prey would be cut off as he broke the creatures neck. Sapphire eyes narrowed towards the direction where the howl had come from, and ever so determinedly he would move its way. The prey dragging in the dust behind him as blood pooled onto his tongue and painted his lips a crimson red. He had heard wind of the Amenti bitch committing suicide, and he would only scoff at her demise. Hmph. What a waste, oh well if you can't handle the power then it will be the end of you. Now someone has taken your place...tch, I knew that wench was a coward at heart.

It had not taken the assassin long to find the scent and sight of the one who howled. Head lowered with perked ears, the carcass dragging behind him as he approached. He cared not who tried to stand in his way, a twisted grin finding its way on his features, bringing another spurt of blood from the buck's vocals. He moved with an air of determination and power, dragging his dead victim effortlessly across the ground as he stopped in front of the cave. He would then release the throat of his catch, dark gaze falling upon bone-jawed Arkhos. "So, you are the one that has taken Amenti...I heard wind of you, and you look a hell of a lot stronger then the bitch that ran this pack into the ground." He eyed Syrinx, dark pupils turned to slits as he noted the air of strength, power, and leadership about him. This one did indeed seem worthy of following, perhaps a lot more then the ice devil that Uisge had previously met. Though the assassin had turned him down because Uisge did not see him as worthy enough, nor any of the other packs. But this one.

"You see, worthy of serving...What does one have to do to join this new pack of yours? Obviously you're a strong leader, and I would think you'd want wolves that will hold no mercy towards their enemies. Well sir, I will state this now. I am strong, I give no mercy to those that are undeserving, and I will not hesitate to fight and kill. I am a spy, an assassin...I have wandered packless in search of a leader worth following, and not even that ice fool was worthy of my services. But you, you are another story." He would chuckle, a dark mixture brewing in his chest as he took a step back to gesture towards his catch. "An offering for thy new king."

Perhaps he had every reason in the world to consider those that were important to him. And he did to a degree--one that was, naturally, arguable. Syrinx believed in one's own personable strengths and if one was not pushed to attain their strengths and even further strengthen them then there was no point in pretending they existed. His eyes would turn to his children (those that came) and he would watch them with borderline scrutiny. They would be ready in ample time. Still, there were preparations to undergo and Syrinx had to be sure that anyone else that came around him and his family was of the loyal type. To forget loyalty when it was the basis of the empire he was attempting to build...that would be sinful.

Sevan was the next to speak (though he had not missed the sound of the mountain girl) and he would smile at his daughter, flicking his chin towards the caves and offering her a gesture to proceed, "Then go welcome her, my darling," bring her to me. Eyes turned until they were on Vyvienne--silently instructing her to go assist her sibling. Would she listen? It was a test, of course, but he needed to know, even though her opinions of life were obscure, that she would know what the best course of action was. Even if she did not do it out of wanting to please she should do it out of the want to find things out...to sate curiosity...and cover her thirst for belongings.

A male's voice draped over his ears and Syrinx dropped his ears against his head and turned. His teeth bared in a low snarl and he only upheld when the boy began to speak, and to explain. A gift was given for him and his features slowly eased--though the firm muscle below his flesh did not cease offering its show of power, "Ah--I ask your loyalty and nothing more...of course. If you betray me--I ask your head," it was a simple way to argue what he wanted and Syrinx was pleased to admit that if he chose to follow him Syrinx would be pleased to carry through with the latter part of his deal. He would always be a man of his word. Muscles flexed and torqued as Syrinx turned towards the opening of his cave system. Rear found the earth and tail coiled around him. The behemoth sat like he were the one delivering verdicts on judgement day. He would wait for his daughter to bring him the sneaky cretin.

(I'm assuming here that Sevan is old enough to pose a threat to Arayne)

Arayne whirled as a voice came from behind her. The speaker was a surprisingly young wolf, but she was large for her age, and while Arayne puffed her hackles up in a feeble attempt to appear larger and wrinkled her muzzle, she found herself being pushed back into the cave by the other wolf, the red one's whelp, apparently. Another wolf, brown and white, was talking to the male, but she kept most of her attention on the ones closest to her.

Sidling so that she could see both wolves at once, she glared at the brat, tail raising slightly. She had little doubt that coming off as too aggressive would only earn her an ass-beating, but she was sick of being the one pushed around. "I'm not here to make trouble," she said to the red male, allowing a slightly accusing tone to come into her voice, "I only came to see why a wolf was howling at the caverns I was denning in." She tossed her head at the small pile of pelts and dry grass that made up her nest. She had little hope of keeping her spot, but now she was more concerned with actually being allowed to leave."Speech"

The woman turned defenses shooting up. A wicked smiled curled her red lips as her father spoke, requesting that the trespasser be welcomed. But instead she would continue to push the woman deeper into the caves, nails clicking against the stone groound. Tthe woman moved away from her. She was smart not to attack, though her aggression might get her in trouble. She listened to the words that spewed annoyingly from the trespasser, who claimed to live her. "Well you don't live her anymore." Low lyrics dripped from russet jaws, blue and silver eyes bright with twisted excitement and curiosity. What would her father do with this woman? She stood in her place, blocking the woman's path. Audits swiveled, listening to a man proclaim his loyalties to her father. No one could be as loyal as his children.

The soft breeze would cradle the body, whisper in her ears as they pass by in there travels. Her father would question her, perhaps to figure out how the dark pearls mind really works, on how she will adapt, the answer was simple though and with a simple flick to the icy pools she'd lock upon her father. " We've accomplished what we need to, you've sought out a crafty environment that'll outwit an enemy if they choose to attack." Meinx would ooze the words from her onyx lips, putting it into the most simple of words, knowing her father knows all to well of the success he's made with the land.

As soon as the girl had finished, sevan would enter confidant, trying to threaten a woman who is wiser and far larger. The young adravendi's may have pride and wish to do the best, but sometimes it cant always be with aggression, especially if it could mean being outwitted. With a flick to the wispy tail a soft smile would print upon the face, everyone deserves a chance to give an explanation and solve it. Striding forward towards her sister Meinx would bare her teeth slightly in warning. " She may not live here anymore but theres no reason she cant compromise or ask to join our forces, After all the stronger our pack the greater we'll be." The words would tease, before glancing over to the woman. " Miss, do you wish to keep your home? you can serve the Akros, if you serve him well you'll get safety in return" She'd speak in a subtle tone, wondering if the woman would choose to accept, If she chose to neglect the kind offer, then the earthly woman can leave. a quick glance was made to sevan, hoping she wont act on stupidity.

Did Meinx know if Syrinx would approve? no. But she'll learn from any mistakes that he catches.

>>Listen to my lullaby<<

It was such a shame the weak had to realize their demise. Ryu had chosen to stay within the amenti name, and was now serving under the bastard Syrinx. Though she wasn't dumb enough to say those words out loud. She didn't enjoy being low of rank than she was, but over time she could love to prove herself to get higher. She followed behind the children of the king, and how pretty were those things. As they disturbed the home of one, no this was their place now. While the insane lady was of the old Amenti, time passed by so easily. The smile on her face did not falter. Her scar making it even more of a creepy factor of the dark aura that covered the 42" tall monster. Her tongue rolled out as she stayed a bit ways away and just watched.
She really didn't need to say anything, the amenti's were well off. Though Ryu had to play nice with Valhalla now, which was fairly sad. Though she knew she had plenty of others who hated her, she didn't mind. The beast loved to kill, in her head it was the only thing she knew how to do to take the pain away from her childhood. It put her to good use at least, she was a well off commander.

Alena padded into the caves, her violet gaze drifting around its walls. It had been quite a while since she had been here. Last time she had been in this place she had been quite pregnant with her pups, the memories drifting back to her as she followed the call of her new king. So this would be their new home? It wasn't near as appealing as the Red Forest in her opinion, but she could see the logic in his choice and for that she could appreciate it. By the time she reached Syrinx quite a little gathering of wolves had formed.

She looked around at all of them as she sat down quietly, her tail around her forepaws. So the king's children, two wolves she did not recognize, and the black and white fea with the scars that she had noticed at the last meeting had arrived so far. Interesting. She looked around the cave once more, wondering if her children would like it. She hated having to move them like this, but she hoped that they would understand her reasoning one day.

Speaking of her children, she hoped Jian and Lel would come introduce themselves... and that Syrinx would accept them into the pack as well.

Syrinx was not particularly tyrannical, in most aspects, he was actually fairly strong and very open to suggestion--which was saying a lot given the ship he had striven and decided on running. Lips quivered into a gentle smirk and his eyes held onto Arayne as she was brought to him. She was a pretty little thing. Something he felt deserved to have seen more in her life (lack of scars guiding him to believe she had it easy). Her short proclamation left Syrinx tilting his lips into a displeased simper, "How unfortunate. I do love my bit of trouble," He left her with the grueling smirk that only he could have given and turned to listen to the words that were spat all around. "oh--but she could, Sevan. Let's not rule anything out," his eyes stayed trained on Arayne, examining her, and waiting. Perhaps he could give her a purpose. How he would like that.

Meinx would speak up and Syrinx would leave himself pleased at the way she handled herself. She offered words that were both kind and yet affirmative--and while he would have handled it with more ferocity he wouldn't argue with the fact she was more the Chrysanthe of his bunch, "Do you wish to go, Arayne? When this could be your chance to actually hold some value?" the words were tempting and his voice remained husky and reminiscent of a deep voiced jazz singer. Smooth, clean, and charming. do you want to run? if she did he would have more than enough fun chasing the young woman off. More than enough fun trying to catch her and crush her.

Ryouta and Alena both came and Syrinx would present both with a firm nod of the head. His eyes reveled over both women and his skull flickered over the mountains, "Welcome to your new home," he purred. They would, hopefully, grow to enjoy it as he had. Limbs pushed himself forward, towards Arayne, and he attempted to lower his jaws near her ear--to whisper, "It's your choice, temptress," perhaps this was the best way for him to choose the best course for Amenti. Perhaps seduction could be his ally--and was it a falsity to admit some women preferred the rough antics of a strong king? He offered this and so much more and only prayed that he played the part well enough. Love had not bode him well, perhaps another course would.

(Ooh this just got interesting >:3)

Arayne growled as the cub stated the obvious. "I'm aware of that, brat." The last word was spoken under her breath, barely audible, but there all the same. Arayne was trying not to provoke the invaders into attacking her, although it was difficult to keep her temper. She turned her head as another wolf approached, equally young, but warding off her sibling. Arayne's tense posture became less hostile as the child addressed her in a far more polite manner, offering in inviting to join their pack. Her turquoise eyes flicked towards the massive red brute, who she guessed was the 'Akros'. "A kind offer," she said, her voice markedly less growly, "but one I don't wish to take at the moment."

Other wolves padded into the caves, a female with a scars that gave her a hideous grin, and a white female with purple eyes. She reminded Arayne of a white, purple-eyed cub she had met long ago, but she didn't have much time for reminiscing.

The monster wolf finally addressed her, giving her an unsettling grin. She squirmed uncomfortably under his blue-green gaze, but did her best to hold her ground even as he towered over her. If you and I are thinking of the same value I want nothing to do with it was what she thought. What she said was "The only value I wish for is the value I assign myself." She took a step towards the mouth of the cave. "Besides, I only plan to stay up North until the thaw hits and the mountain passes become crossable again." She spoke the truth there. Arayne was not a cold-weather wolf.

She sidled away and flattened her ears as his jaws hovered near them. An outraged exclamation escaped her mouth as he dubbed her a temptress. Oh, he was masculine, there was no question about that, but he set Arayne on edge. He was like a serpent, one she didn't want to let get too close to her for fear it would strike. "Then my choice is to leave," she replied curtly. She turned her gaze back to the one who had herded her into the cavern, giving her a contemptuous, hooded-eyes look. "Now, if the child would kindly step aside..."

This was their new den? It didn't seem nearly as homey as their old den... and it was so big. The tri-colored pup didn't think she liked it here very much yet, but if this is where their mom wanted them to live then she would get used to it. She followed her mom's scent into the caves, peering up at the huge walls with wide, curious, blue eyes. She hurried over to her mom's side and sat down in a similar manner with her tail over her paws. Like mom like daughter.

She watched the commotion around her, wondering who all the wolves were. She pressed into the ivory side of her mother, almost blending. If it hadn't been for the black stripe down her back and the black socks on her forelegs she could have just disappeared into Alena's fur. "Who are all these wolves, momma?" she asked softly, peering out at all of them curiously. She saw all the younger wolves around, wondering if they were all siblings. They looked to be the same age and they looked like they were a little older than she was so Jian was intrigued by them.

It was with an eerie presence the russet mistress would hunt, seeking the luring stench of her once-was mate beneath a faltering gaze of half-hearted intention. The chill of the atmosphere clung to her lungs with a painful familiarity, a ghost of the past that would cling her presence and boast of mismatched fairytales. Numbers, their presence seared her pipes and caused a snarl to twitch at feminine features, gaze narrowing with a judgement of dissatisfaction as the figures of so many loomed in the near distance. Muscles tremored with revulsion of wolves unknown, coming to loiter mysteriously behind the group, motionless and silent as ears would flicker backwards against tapered skull. Pale gaze would hold to Syrinx, debating whether or not she could tolerate divorcing solitude to aid his endeavours. But it was unlikely, as the smaller numbers even here would prickle awkwardly against her core.

Lel was pouting, head dropping slightly tail dragging behind him and an angry glint to his violet eyes. He waddled along beside his sister, stomping his paws as he went. Their mother had told them they were leaving their old den and moving to a new one. This was something the ivory boy did not want in the slightest. He didn?t like change! Not now anyways, too much had changed, his whole life being thrown into chaos since the very first big change. Still he went following their mother?s scent, the boy had little other choice. He would not abandon his sister, and despite how the move made him feel he wouldn?t be leaving his mother any time soon.
As they approached the cave the boy allowed his sister to race ahead, he paused, hesitating. He didn?t really want to be with his mother right now? With a huff he would enter the cave ignoring many of the others around him, heading towards his mother before veering away from her some and going to sit off to her right side, slightly ahead of her. He was going to show her how unhappy he was! Still his position gave him away, he was visibly listening for Alena's answer to his sister's question.

Her fathers words reached her ears just as her sister approached. The russet girl would bare her own teeth towards her sister, eyes narrowing only a fraction. As her sister spoke to the woman, it was apparent that the trespasser wanted nothing to do but leave. Now if the child would step aside. Before her anger had a chance to spark, a familiar scent would taunt her nostrils, daring her to believe it was true. She would turn, ignoring the still trespassing woman, blue and silver pools would fall upon the form of that who could only be her mother.

Surprise pulled her brows up and then down, crown tilting slightly to the left. She had not seen her mother since the day they all joined Valhalla. The woman could hardly be considered a mother, after all she took no part in raising them, leaving them under the chaotic care of their father. "Mother?" Words were hushed, she took a few slow steps forward, uncertain. Was her mother here to stay? Or would she vanish again?

The amazon arrived late, acidic gaze observing her surroundings, noting the details she cared to note. She noted the strange members of her pack, the ones whose worth she had yet to gauge. Her gaze froze upon Arayne, Uisge, Ryouta, Alena, Jian and Lel. It did not sit well with the woman that she would rank beneath these strangers, these peasants. The woman ignored her mother?s presence for now, prepared to deliver the woman quite a speech later, but for now the girl would approach her father. Long limbs carried the abnormally tall girl to the alpha, looking up at him with a fierce look in her eyes.
"Make them leave. They smell," she demanded. Vyvienne refused to be an underling to a stranger. She?d tolerated it in Valhalla for the sake of family, but now the girl would no longer let herself be an underling. "I don?t bow to peasants,?she snapped. Even if she was a child, she refused to be subservient to adults who she was simply better than. She also refused to be on the same level as brats who she could squash in a minute flat.

The meaning behind the words spoken by the king would prove to have a far more volatile meaning than it was likely for him to have been persistent about, but alas--he had relied on taking to her loyalty and growing her into something remarkable. To refuse his kindness was a severe offense and he merely flickered his maw towards her, "Sevan, Meinx--Escort her out," however they chose to do so was by their own doing. Nails lazily clicked against the stone as he twisted and turned and his eyes fell on the approaching figure of Eos. A low growl was what he prefered his reaction to be, and yet she had come to him--standing there he had nothing to truly say; nothing that she would fully be able to understand.. Admittedly, while his was more chaotic; he did have more a heart than she, "You left," the accusation was clear and cold and harsh, and this was not the place to converse these things with her.

"Then don't bow, Vyvienne. You are to be my heir if you prove yourself. I may be yours, but your loyalty needs to be mine," the words that fell from his chords were clear. I know you're the strongest. and how could one argue with that? Meinx, Sevan, Syren, and Cynder were all incredibly strong assailants; but it was Vyvienne he was putting the most faith in for the task he longed to prepare her for--leadership. However, it was not by her attitude alone that he would select her. he had many other factors to look at, and when the time came he would choose who had been the most involved. She could not shove them off.

"Amenti will follow me....those that wish to disperse--do so now." the words were mostly meant for Eos, however, anyone else could take to them if they wished to. He wanted to see how she would play this out, for his faith in her was a dwindling and fleeting things. After all, he had sought her out above all else. Shoulders rolled, body turned, and the king was exeunted.
