Oracle
. . .

Oracle shifted the den was almost empty Galah slept on the other side of the cave ait was still dark but her stomach was growling demanding that she wake up and pay attention to it. She was struck by the memory of another morning when the pups had woken before the sun sitting together at the entrance to watch the sun rise over the waves, that had been almost a year ago on their first trip from the den. Oracle sighed standing up and padding over to galahad she knew he liked his sleep but if she was hungry he probably was too. Their parents had disappeared almost a month ago and Ode well Oracle wasn't sure when her sister had left one morning she had just been gone from the den. Aunt Merci and her pups where along the cliffs and knight, well she didn't know where the brute slept but he was here somewhere.

Quietly she nudged at her brother trying and wake him up, she knew if they told Aunt Merci they where hungry the lady would get them food she was not a good hunter but she always seemed to get by, likewise they could tell knight, the male was good enough to keep Merci's pups fed, but Oracle was determined that she at least was old enough to find her own food, and galah was going to help whether he wanted to or not.

?come on Galah, its time to get up,? she muttered poking her nose into his neck, ?were going hunting or ain?t you hungry,? teeth aimed to close on one of the boys ears, if she caught it she would give it a little shake to get his attention before releasing her hold and taking a step back waiting for some sort of response. Sighing she then turned towards the exit, ?i'll meet you outside when your ready,? and with that she stepped out of the den sitting her behind at the cave entrance she watched as the sun began to rise dragging itself into the sky. there was a strange new sent in the cove this mornign but she paid it no head, she was tired, since Ode had disappeared she had split her time between keeping an eye on her brother and searching the border for any trace of the girl or their wayward parents, so far neither had appeared, still she hoped.

"Speech."

Galahad
. . .

Where had he gone wrong? Had he not defended the den every night? Had he not, with all of his heart, tried to look out for his mother, his father, and sisters? But now the beautiful family of five had dwindled down to a troubled duo, having mostly each other to rely on. A deep sense of sadness washed over the young male ever night as he went to sleep, always on the opposite den of his remaining sister, Oracle.

Every morning when Galahd awoke he was afraid that, just as his parents and their sisters before her, Oracle would choose to go her own separate ways from him. But as the pup would wake he would remember that she was as sad as he was that their family had broken down, and that they were now closer because of it. They had to be closer, because each other was all the other had left.

Beautiful green orbs opened sleepily. Much of the night Galah had stayed up, watching Oracle as she slept, whispering words of brotherly love and promises to never, ever abandon her. They were young... and they would be strong. They wouldn't need to rely on Merci or Knight. He could make out Oracle's voice, so beautiful, telling him that they were going hunting. They hadn't done much of it on their own... but perhaps Oracle had decided it was time they became more proficient at it.

Galahad rose, stretching out his legs with a loud yawn. With a few blinks he felt himself waking up, his usual energy bubbling into his system. Now Oracle had to put up with the brunt of all that energy and affection all on her own. Galahad bounded out of the den, coming to a stop by Oracle's side with an affectionate nuzzle to her shoulder.

"So we're going to hunt for ourselves today huh?" A playful grin crossed on Galah's face, and he swished his tail back and forth as he bounded forward, spinning to face Oracle. "I'm going to catch you the fattest crab you've ever seen!" There was a bright sparkle in the boy's eyes now. He had promised himself he wasn't going to lose Oracle too... and he was going to take care of her. Galahad spun in a circle, already eager to begin, and to keep his sister cheerful. "Does that sound good to you?" Not that Galahad had ever caught a crab... but he was going to do his best.

"Speech." Thought.

Oracle

Oracle returned the nuzzle, giving a little snap at his tail as he bounded past. It was hard to be moody around galah and she could not help the smile on her face ?oh realy she laughed sure it wont catch you,? Galah was her little brother, it didn't matter to her that they where the same height he was family the only one she had left and she would be damed if anything bad where to happen to him. Her tail waved in the air behind her as she skittered forward she nipped at him as she passed the smile still on her face, ? I bet I can catch more crabs then you,? she exclaimed prancing down the slope to the beach, they would have to travel a way only small crabs lived in the sand all the larger ones the ones worth catching lived at the rocky outlet of the steam further down the beach.

She nipped at him again as she passed dancing further away down onto the beach, ?catch me if you can,? she laughed pausing for only a moment before taking off at a gallop towards the rocky outlet. Claws dug into sandy soil marring the clear expanse left by the retreating tide, she had grown since her birth her paws and ears still to large for her frame she had grown lanky her limbs growing longer, the muscle was still laking from her frame. Growing pains still plauged her and she made the best of her time without them and hunting with her brother definitely counted as a good use. She relised she had lost track of him in her flight and her place stuttered as she looked over her shoulder for him. Rocks had begun to rise out of the silt and they where within sight of the out let.

Galahad let out a soft chuckle as he heard Oracle's teeth snap closed behind his tail as he passed. The brute wrinkled his nose at his sister's comment. "It might try, but I won't let it!" Crab pinchers could hurt pretty bad... and so far Galahad had only made the mistake of letting one get his paw. Of course that was when they were just getting out of the den, and he had been so excited in seeing the creature that he got too close. Galahad had learned after that day yoiu had to be careful with crabs, not that he was an expert at hunting them. Still he was going to try his hardest for Oracle's sake. Despite being the younger one between himself and Oracle because he was the male he felt the strong urge to do everything for her. Just like she felt the strong urge to protect him. Galah let out a soft snort as she nipped at him, watching her pass by him. His eyes danced with happiness however. Seeing his sister in high spirits was a wonderous thing. His ears perked up as she spoke, then he slowed to a stop as she took off down the beach. The brute chuckled softly, mischief coming to his gaze now. If that was how she wanted to play it, then he would definitely play along.

Galahad took off in the direction that Oracle had gone, long strides speeding his progress. But he didn't want to catch up with, well, in some ways. He wanted her to taste the victory of being the first one near the outlet, and so Galahad held some of his strength back. After a while he caught up, smiling brightly at his sister. "What's wrong, worried you lost me?" The black and whtie brute came up beside his sister, his own fur brushing against her own. Galah smiled at Oracle, his ears twitching happily. "Looks like you won our little race." His tail swished side by side happily as he looked ahead. "Not much farther now." He looked back to Oracle, nudging her shoulder before he started off again, his ears continuing to twitch with happiness.
