She had Gideon in tow for the swim and exploration of the island that she might just be making Valhalla's new home. It was located in the south, a while away from the current territory, but from what she had seen and heard, it would be a perfect paradise and get away for her members. Some would not like the move, she was sure - but the alpha had their best interest at heart. It would be easy to raise families in this more constant climate, they would be protected from their enemies in a more isolated region, and the serenity would do them some good. No doubt their nerves were quite frayed after all of the turmoil with Glaciem.

Her husband had come with her, but honestly she was interested in how well the male swam - it was a short distance, but Chrysanthe was betting on the pay off - and it would probably be worth it even if she lost that bet to see her husband nice and waterlogged. As much as she had to be upset about, to worry for, she would not let it take her hope for and of the future from her. The woman would yip as the gentle waves lapped around the two of them, and then grin back at the gorgeous male that paddled with her. "We're close, I promise!" Indeed, the sands were in sight, they didn't have much longer to go. "You'll love it." Honestly she hoped that he would be at least remotely impressed, she had missed him dearly, and despite being half blind and with a long string of fights ahead of her, she was happy to be with her husband. She would take her with him everywhere if she could, but was reluctant to place him beside her as alpha once again with Glaciem so eager to take anyone in her council. For now, she would place politics the the side in favor of making sure Valhalla had a perfect place to go until the plains were washed clean by the spring rains.

She had every intention to go back some day, it was where her father was buried, and had served a perfect home to Valhalla too long to just forget. But for now, and in regard to the near future, someplace new and exotic would be just perfect.

Why did he get an increasingly potent desire for the psychos? Well, that was a good question that wouldn't be answered with any variant of psychological study, because as luck would have it Gideon was no typical man and he certainly wasn't the typical choice for a broad like Chrysanthe. It was quite evident she could have done better (in personality--for Gideon was incomparable visually. Chrysanthe was one lucky doll.). Regardless of the argument at hand, Gideon knew he'd follow his little psych anywhere she wanted to go. Actually, he guessed he'd lead her...at least on the left side. ...blind jokes were not appropriate. Well, not allowed he could make them in his head. Which seemed to be the best option. Gideon had a particular inclination to smirk when he was amused by thoughts and yeah--he had every intention of ripping Isardis's fucking throat out through his ass, but it didn't mean he wouldn't play the situation as calm as he had anything else. Chill. Calm. Gideon. That was the spice of life.

Of course, his decision to follow her would promptly become regrettable as they neared water. "Well...balls," he didn't particularly enjoy swimming as it had a tendency to make him look like a wet dog (go figure) Praying that it wasn't what it seemed he broke a smirk across his face and stared at her, "If you wanted to get wet...all you had to do was come at me, baby," the jest was made and of course it was meant exactly as it came across, but it was just them. Now had Erani been there Gideon was quite aware of the fact he would have been promptly slapped across the face and made to apologize or act like a proper gentleman. She was mother nazi in his mind. But-eh, she was alright. She had Chrysanthe's best intentions at heart and Gideon had a feeling that was all that mattered.

"Better....be....close...." As he pushed through the waters (well aware of the giant freaking island, for he wasn't blind like chrysanthe) he stared at the shores. What was she planning? One didn't randomly just stand up and decide it was time for a family outing on the river banks. It wasn't particularly interesting to him--but he would give her the benefit of the doubt hoping that he could -see- the beauty here.

Hearing Gideon's obvious disagreement at entering the ocean, Chrysanthe felt that she had made the right choice. Seems there was still a bit of teasing left in her when it came to those she was truly close to, but the difference with Gideon was that he would tease back twice as hard. "There's time for that later." Her response would be simple, cheeky even, but surprisingly honest. It had been far too long since the two of them had been close - and despite the warm weather in her chosen territory, it was winter - her season of birth. In the rare moments where her thoughts weren't churning with stress and responsibility, they were plagued with Gideon. She had fallen for him, hard - but he had captured her attention with both his mind and body on the get go. Despite times changing, that hadn't changed along with it.

When they finally reached the shore, she would shake herself off - purposely flicking the water on her tail at her mate, before standing on the smooth sands with a small smile on her face. Looking at him drenched with water was enough to pull a small bit of laughter from her, which she would try to hide with a toothy grin. "Oh wow, that's a good look for you." The woman would tease, moving to brush past him and let their damp fur mesh a bit. It was nice, going from the cool of the water on her fur to the natural heat that his body gave off. Nice enough for her to place a kiss to her waterlogged husband's cheek for it. "I should get you in the water more often."

Turning her head slightly to face the island, she would take the looming vegetation as a challenge. She wanted to get a good feeling of this place, and scope the territory out completely before making her final decision. Of course, she had brought Gideon here with her because... well, she had to lay it on him, but she wanted to start on that family of theirs in the near future. This would be where it started - an island warm and inviting, perfect for the families that Valhalla would hold, and the family she wanted to start. "I hope you're ready to do a bit of exploring." She would do her best to reward him at the end if he was on his best behavior.

The both of them were already off to a pretty bad start.

--But just how strong was her will to deny him? Gideon Mathias was a force to be reckoned with. Regardless of being on land or in the water. Of this he was certain of. Her words sent a chilled feeling through his body and he stared at her for a long moment; amusement was the most visibly prevailent feature. Could he be looked at oddly for that? A daunting smirk encumbered his features and with an easy sigh (playfully made of course) he would shake his head, "That's not fair....Maybe I won't want you later," it was a rough jab and an easy lie. He would want her (likely more) later, and he wasn't going to rightly pretend like that was a lie. Gideon was constantly hungry for Chrysanthe and more than eager to quench the thirst that burned when she was near. Especially here of late...

Getting across the land and into the damned cold waters had not been a problem. However, getting back onto land was an entirely different issue. He looked like snuffleupagus all decorated in his wet fashion, and yeah that was fine--if you were into that kinky sort of thing. Chrysanthe, however, only pretended to be and faired to get a mildly annoyed glare from him. Still, he wasn't totally mad at her; how could he be? "Or ya know...not," He had no intentions of going diving again unless it was absolutely necessary, and naturally, he had a burning feeling that Chrysanthe was going to ask that very thing of him. Oh, the things he did for the girl. He was whipped , though, naturally she wouldn't ever be allowed to think such an absurd thing.

They were out of the water for a long moment--entangled; naturally, and he found that it wasn't much longer before the true intentions of their little meeting were revealed. A chuckled immediately reverberated in his chest and he watched her carefully. Exploring...yeah that seemed like good fun. And a rotten mess if she had the intention of dragging him over another piece of land. Say what you wanted, but he wasn't fond of the water--and it wasn't due to some odd kitty cat complex. He rolled his eyes methodically and stared at her, "Lead the way queenie."

Wouldn't want her later? Well then he would be swimming home alone, wouldn't he? His callous comment only made his wife snort in response, continuing the short swim to the island. The sand felt good beneath her paws, it wasn't as hot as it would get during the summer, but it was a pleasant warmth in comparison to the somewhat chilly waters they had been in before. Teasing Gideon had fished a glare from him - although she couldn't help but feel that it was more a fuck you to the ocean than to her. She smiled regardless, leaning on him as he chuckled. She would stay, content beneath his stare, she loved the brute more than she got the chance to show him as of late. Hopefully he knew that himself. "I want to make sure it's big enough for Valhalla." There needed to be enough prey to comfortably feed nearly thirty wolves and counting. "And safe." So they would have to check for anything dangerous themselves - hopefully this would go over well and not turn into the two of them trying to survive. "We have a lot to do!" With that she would carry herself forward, and continue into the trees that lie ahead of the beach.

It was truly a jungle something that the mainland didn't have too much of. The air was slightly humid, but the trees and their vines nearly blocked out the sun in some places further in. She didn't recognize some of the plants, and she wondered how Erani would feel about that. Preston though, might feel a bit more at home - her brother had spoken of being used to different flora after his time away from the mainland himself. The woman would try her hand at tracking some prey - maybe she could get a good idea of how many huntable animals were on the island... and whether other predators had decided to live here and take advantage of the isolation and easy hunting as she wanted to.

"And to think a place like this is floating over the ocean." She would smile slightly, staring up and ahead. Monkeys hooted above their heads, a few small ones that probably had a few families living on different parts of the island. They would need a water source - any rainwater that had collected here would do. The jungle was unlike the Valhallan plains that she was used to - the cool shadows were comfortable though, and the uniqueness struck the alpha as beautiful, but left her wondering just how much territory was ahead. The woman would look back at Gideon, wondering whether he liked it so far even though they hadn't run into a landmark - and nearly ran into a cluster of vines on her blindside. "The reef was easy enough to swim, and the jungle is a welcome change... but do you think a move will do the pack good?" She was curious of his opinion. Although really, she doubted he was too worried with where the pack was, and more about the pack itself.
