Aphrodite made her way to Wolfpaw Lake, the closest body of water to where she and her twin sister, Persephone, were denning. A cold winter breeze had sprung up earlier that morning, chilling the ebony mistress to the bone. The girl fluffed up her fur to ward against the wind, making her look almost twice her size. Aphrodite raised her nose to the sky, silver and lilac irises scanning the empty sky for any signs of the coming storm. Far to the east, a thick bank of wolf-gray clouds were rolling across the sky. Aphrodite estimated that it would be another couple of hours before the snow hit.

The girl trudged through the ankle deep snow, grateful that her overly-fluffy paws kept her from sinking through the hard-packed snow under the layer of fluff, which would be past her knees instead. Aphrodite padded down to the shore, where ice met earth. She searched for a break in the ice where she could get a drink, but the ebony femme was unsuccessful. Shrugging her shoulders, Aphrodite prepared to break a section of ice. She was thirsty, dammit!

Rearing back on her haunches, Aphrodite brought her weight back, and then brought it speeding forward, crashing down on the ice with stiff legs, all of her body weight and momentum bringing her forward with much more force. The ice cracked, but didn't break. Not wanting to soak her paws in a frigid lake, Aphrodite picked up a stone in her mouth, a decent sized one, and dropped it where the cracks fanned out like a spider web. The stone went clean through the ice, creating an almost perfect circle for the black-pelted girl to drink from.

Aphrodite bent her neck, salmon tongue finding the water and lapping up several freezing mouthfuls. Thirst quenched, the girl rested back on her haunches, not sure what to do next. Persephone was being a lazy bum, still sleeping in the den that Aphrodite had left her in. She could go back to Persephone and be bored out of her mind, or she could find something to do. The ebony fae shrugged and started walking in a random direction, determined to find adventure.

Oh how the blood was just everywhere! Malasith couldn't have been more satisfied with what he had just done. He could almost roll around in all the blood, but that would make him a dirty boy and he doesn't much enjoy being unkempt. The wolf he had killed was a wanderer just as himself, he was irrelevant to most every wolf out there. Killing the wolf seemed to be Malasith's greatest honor that day, but he needs to move quickly. He needs to hide all that he has done. He cannot let a soul know that he is impure, that he is a cold blooded murderer. Secrecy is his number one rule.

Malasith whispered to himself, "I wonder if I should dump the body in the lake?" He will need a pine branch to lay the body on to drag it without leaving a trail of blood... This will be harder than Malasith thinks. Malasith decides to start covering up the blood with snow that surrounds the area before discarding the corpse. This was easy, so now all he needs is a branch, when all of a sudden Malasith hears a noise coming from the lake. He quickly darts to hide the body under a nearby tree and puts on his best guise and that fake smile to approach whatever may be out there.

He approaches the lake but remains at a distance to discover what smells to be a lady wolf taking a few sips at the lake; she is alone and her back is turned towards him. She does not notice him, so he decides to back up and remain out of sight. He has many options, but there are two that stick out to him the most: he can approach her and kill her, or he can ward her off in the opposite direction to conceal the body.

Malasith figures that he would love to kill again, but today just one will suffice. Maybe he can off her at a later date? Maybe he will make a new "friend?" For today he decides to go with option two. He definitely does not want her to stumble across the body, this isn't even a question. If she does discover the body he would slit her throat before the gasp of horror even left her mind. Slowly, Malasith begins to emerge from his hiding spot and inch his way closer to the woman. He starts to shiver as the wind blows close to his dark brown coat, but not from the cold; it was from sheer excitement, but no one can tell the difference. He halts a good thirty yards away from her and remains there. As she turns around Malasith smiles warmly at her and says, "Well hello there !"
