Early morning shone its bright rays down on the north, finally thawing the frozen landscape. Though the snow was sparse and few, leaving the ground wet, ash had taken it's place. At first the blue and russet girl thought the sky was falling apart. As it first came down she had ran in fright to her mother, fretting that the sky was falling apart. She worried she would never see the stars, moon, or sun again. But as those first few days past and nothing other happened she brave venturing out again. She had to find her brothers, make sure they were ok. First on her list was Rin. She had not seen him around that often and she was worried.
She hated this black powdery stuff. She cloaked her fur, staining it and always making her sneeze. And it tasted horrible too! She snorted with frustration. How was she going to pick up any scents like this? Amber eyes looked around. Her best bet was to go where their igloo once was and call for him. The four month old girl shook out her pelt and trotted off. In no time she found their place, left ear twitching where two little nicks were made. She pawed the ground to try and clean a spot for them. Head lifted to call out for her brother.
Dreaming. Though nothing particularly good. Rin awoke to the sour smell of ash around him, had he fallen asleep out here? He guessed so, he didn't really sleep among the pack much anymore, preferring to take up residence on his own away from the others. Not like they wanted him anyway. He had stayed out of trouble, remaining within the territories for the most part, not that there was anything interesting beyond the borders, but it was the same drab place here too. He was a stranger in his own home, but he was beginning not to care. His father boasted of being the "perfect" father. And yes, he was never to be found.
And it was during his thoughts on life that a call would sound nearby, Rin all too aware of who the voice belonged to. Ears perked in the direction, and he rising without hesitation to meet her. Translucent green eyes found her soon enough, Rin's nicked ear tilted forward as he approached. The thoughts on his mind he tried to hide behind clear eyes, but Irune was smart. No way she would fall for it unless he had a really good poker face with her. He always did around everyone else he came across, but Irune and Kyung were different. The trio could always tell what one another was thinking. "Hi Irune! How are ya?" He reached forward to muzzle her neck, tail wagging slightly as he recalled this to be the place where they had built their igloo.
