The time had come for Eria to give birth. She had travelled with Friction to the Plains to be welcomed to Valhalla and have the pups there, but the pack had vanished. There wasn't enough time to look for them before she had their children. With all that was happening, she knew she couldn't travel anymore. While the contractions were still early and less painful, she searched for a proper place to have her babies.
The abandoned dens were empty and held plenty of options to choose from. Eria's eyes sought out one that was on higher ground and appeared perfect. She walked up the small hill and into the den before collapsing on her side against the cool wall. Her eyes squinted in pain and every muscle in her body cramped. Moans escaped her lips as she felt the contractions even more, but she didn't fight them. Instead, she barked weakly, hoping Friction would arrive in time to help the little ones enter the world. She knew he was a healer and it was his specialty...but as a midwife, she wasn't too sure. One could only hope, however.

Erani

Strength flowed back into the snowy Valhallan lead healer with each passing day. Surreal and Alsander were taking attentive care of her, and she was almost ready to move to the new territory. That was a nettle in her heart. To leave behind the place that Cairo and Collision had chosen, so long ago, and yet not so long ago. To leave his grave behind, and her den. All because of Glaciem.

A deep sigh huffed through her nostrils as she padded along the path to Cairo?s Glade, on one of her strolls that would help strengthen her muscles. She was putting on weight, her ribs only slightly defined now, and her muscles were showing stronger, no longer shaking, as long as she didn?t push herself too much.

Rains had washed away the scents of battle, a minor flood of the river wiping away the traces, save for the grave of Lovatt, and the grave of the grey male from Glaciem. Her tail flicked, deep blue gaze sweeping the surroundings quietly as she traversed a steep incline, paws silent as a wildcats.

As she arrived in the small, cool glade that was the resting place of her king, she slowed, finally coming to a stop beside the riot of aromatic herbs and colorful flowers. Slowly, her haunches lowered, the rest of her body following, until she lay beside the resting place. Her head resting between her paws, her eyes closed, ears flicking as she listened to the heartbeat of the glade.

Her ears perked abruptly, before her head lifted. There was a change in the rhythms of the surroundings, a scent on the wind. Quietly, she rose, following the feel of the change, following the scent on the wind. A female, on the verge of adding to the world. Erani veered and padded toward her den, entering the cave and stopping at the herb pile. Would there be any of the herbs like these on that island?

She selected the plants needed for birthing, turning away and leaving the den, patiently making her way through the territory again, following once more the stranger?s scent. There were hints of a familiar scent mingled with the female. Friction?s scent, in fact. Erani hadn?t seen the male in a while.

She came to a stop at the mouth of the den containing the female, giving a low, muffled woof of greeting.

ooc;; sorry this took forever, gonna give only this thread my attention from now on :) sorry for the crappiness, I'm back up at camp and I only have my phone to post on at night unless I want to sign up to use a computer lol

He was heart broken to learn that Glaciem had pushed Valhalla from their home, even worse that Valhala had gone to an island of all places. After so many had died in the floods not so long ago they had moved to a god damned place surrounded by water. He had left Eria for a short while after then had arrived in Veronica Plains to find it abandoned and empty. He had wanted to know where the pack had gone. It had been his sistersho have eventually told him where they had gone, apparently Tortugans loyal to their old leader Taurig had moved to an island as well... Was that the new thing?

Thoughts were plagued as he loped back towards the plains from where he had met his sister, a fish hanging limply from his jaws. It's scales were dull and listless due to being out of the water for quite some time now but the time of the birthing would be soon and he wanted Eria to have something special to eat, not just some bunny. Almost like the day Aislyn and he had gone fishing in the plains before she had given birth to Liberty...

She was buried in the plains, could he ever leave there?

Head was shaken once more as he slowed to a trot and lowered his head to the ground to try and pick up Eria's scent. She had set off to find a den as he had set off to fine the pack. Hopefully she had found one... Oddly enough though he caught a different familiar scent first, an old friends scent who had helped him out of a dark place after Aislyn's death. A smile began to slid over his lips as he loped after it. Erani had always been one of the most respected wolves in the pack and though not a close friend he had always enjoyed her company.

Her bark was faint but close enough that he caught the trail end of it. Now? The pups were coming now? He ignored Erani's scent and headed towards the bark, though in the end both trails would end up in the same place. He gave a soft, muffled wolf as he approached and padded up to Erani easily, dropping the fish at her paws and then placing an affectionate kiss on hr cheek before ducking into the den and moving towards Eria. "Sorry that took so long. Seems Valhalla has gone to an island... But I'm here, and I'll never leave again. I brought fish too," he said affectionately as he loops around to lay behind her so she could lean back into him if she wished. "Erani, I'm glad your here. This is Eria. Eria this is Erani, she was the lead healer of Valhalla and our pups couldn't be in better paws for their birth other then yours" He said as he laid an affectionate kiss atop her maw.

The pain was becoming unbearable, but not to where Eria didn't register Erani's unfamiliar form. The white female was cautious and Eria felt a streak of relief that she didn't barge into the den. She met the woman's gaze and firmly nodded. Words had been lost in the waves of labor pains and she didn't dare risk trying to find them.
Then, out of the blue, Friction appeared. Unlike Erani, he didn't hesitate to enter the den and find himself a spot behind her cramping frame. She turned her bright blue eyes on him and the honest emotions of raw pain and relief for his presence was obvious. Not log after he settled beside her, she gave him a nuzzle and felt a fresh wave of contractions around her abdomen. Like a child, Eria whimpered and writhed, hoping that it would end. Movement inside of her made her eyes widen and she then clenched them shut as the pain intensified. She cried out, wishing it would stop! Of there was anything that could be done, she would do it.

Erani looked over her shoulder at the muffled woof, the voice familiar. Friction approached, a fish in his jaws, and dropped it at her paws. The swipe of his tongue over her cheek surprised her, but she gave his side a return nuzzle, watching the male curl behind his mate in the shadow. When the introductions came, Erani dipped her head and started forward, setting the herbs Eria would need to eat in front of the laboring female, who seemed to be in a great deal of discomfort already. ?Eat these. They?ll ease the pain.?

Stepping to a place out of the way, but where she would be able to watch and intervene if things started to go badly, she curled, resting her chin on one paw, watching Eria and Friction, remembering her own birthing? Luna?s Breath, it felt so long ago?

ooc;; sorry this took so long, I have stared at this thread forever being like 'i don't know how to write a bitching post from a pups perspective' anyways heres how it goes in my mind so we can get this done, get him older and get him obsessed with his mommy

Memories? They would always be such a fleeting thing to the boy, even as his world started to convulse around him the memories of floating and serenity would begin to melt and fade away. He wouldn't remember the pain the seared through his head as his siblings paw would strike at his face, wouldn't remember the cold as he slipped from his mothers womb in a damp mess. No, but there would be memories that would stick with him forever. Memories like the warmth of his mothers touch, the rasp of her tongue, the softness of her voice. He would squirm, testing his vocal cords for the first time as he cried for her. He wanted to feel her touch and as he finally managed to squirm and wiggle and possibly get pulled closer he would run his nose across her belly until he found what all his instincts screamed at him to find. Milk. It was another memory he would forever hold onto. That first thing he drank, the warm life giving substance that would wash all his worries away. All these things that came from the woman who brought him into this world. His mother.
