Everlong - Foo Fighters.

The amount of area that Newol had to cover here was so ideal. That thought kept straying through his mind as he made his way through the mountain. The roar of a waterfall could be heard strongly in the background and the sun beat down on the earth, not yet mid day. This place suited his need to explore, his need to learn. Of course, he'd already learned a fair deal, and already grown a lot since he'd started living here. When he'd arrived, he'd known no one. And now, he had a few wolves that he knew. Even had one that he could call his friend. But as he scaled the mountain, the thoughts slowly started to fall from his mind the more he got into it. A defiant fire started to build in his body as he searched for the next foot hold or landing, and climbed and pulled his way up the mountain. The strain slowly sinking into his limbs and making all his muscles happy with the effort. Something about that feeling. Whenever he got it, he always wanted to milk it for every drop he could, and go until his body was no longer able to. Which he did. As the sun found its way to the top of the sky, mid day had already come, he happened across one of what must have been one of a handful of entrances to the network of caves and tunnels that made the Singing Caverns. He'd heard about them from another Loner the other day, and had elected to go and find them today. When he finally made his way to the entrance, it was separated from him by a short drop off. Making his way to it by moving across a narrow ledge one paw step at a time, then reaching his gap, he readied himself, lowering on his hind legs and shifting his weight, he sprang forward across the gap into the entrance he'd found. Once he took a moment and got his footing, he looked around at the walls around him. With a grin, the wolf made his way into the caverns. As he moved along in the faint light, and in some places total darkness, the grin never left his face. Losing track of time as he went.

After awhile, his thirst started to build and he actually developed a want to stop and catch his breath. So, turning at one intersection of paths, he came into a cave inside the mountain. Pooling in the center was water as it dripped through the earth. Stepping out onto the stone floor, Newol made his way up to the edge of the water. He'd seen a similar site here once before, but something about his one, being inside the earth perhaps, is what made his spine tingle for a second time. Faint, blueish green light reflected throughout the cavern off the smooth stone and water that was clear as glass. Bringing his head down, he closed his eyes and lapped at the pool before him. After taking enough to satisfy his thirst, the wolf sat down, the brown fur of his chin wet a little from the pool before him. After looking at the cavern around him for a moment longer, an urge to sing began to build in his chest. he fought it for only a moment before deciding that it was futile. Tilting his head back, his eyes closed and his ears rotated back. The first words of a song he had learned running from the desert like his mother had told him to fell from his lips with a smooth grace. "Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong." His voice was soft at first. Gently rolling across the room. And as it built the farther into the song he went, it echoed down the caverns, his voice rolling off the walls with a beautiful chores. It was likely that anyone else in the caverns at the time would have heard him.

Her soft white fur was freshly groomed and yet it still managed to blend into the shadows of the caverns. Her light and icy blue eyes searching desperately for the herbs she sought out time and time again. She could not let Raisa or the pack down. What if one of them was injured and she didn't have the right things to treat them? What if she failed and was kicked out? The Sola Knight highly doubted the fair and regal queen would do such a thing to her but she never knew what to expect. She didn't know what was the happen next. Why don't you know the kingdoms under siege and everybody needs you. Is there still magic in the midnight sun, or did you leave it back in '61? In the cadence of a young man's eyes. Out where the dreams all hide. She hummed to herself as she worked. Her father sang her the song whenever she felt down and it had reminded her that there were others that felt worse than her. It reminded her that she shouldn't be a sad person. It reminded her of everything her corrupt and misguided parents had told her about herself.

It took her a while to figure out that there was yet another wolf around. She felt insecure around other wolves, at the very least all except Raisa. His fur was chocolate brown, light brown. It was multiple shades and she was memorized by him. She knew very little about him still and so she hid behind a rock, watching him carefully with a small yet shy smile. He spoke and she thought that he was talking to her. How could he be waiting for her if he did not know her or anything about her? It wasn't possible and she became extremely curious. She slowly took steps out from behind the look, looking at him like she had just seen an angel fall from heaven. "I don't believe you." They were words from the song that her father had taught her, A Dustland Fairytale. Did he know that? Probably not, her father had invent the song and he died before she had left. This man had never met him as far as she knew. Then again she had a habit back when she was in Arendelle to favor seeing her mother rather than her father.

Everlong - Foo Fighters

Newol

The voice caught him by surprise as he sang into the cavern walls, falling gracefully upon his ears. Quickly turning to look at the fea, he was caught once again by surprise at the beautiful wolf that he saw. She was smaller than him, but her lack of hesitation to present herself spoke of her bravery, which only spurred interest in his chest. This was furthered along by her looks. She was clad in a solid white belt, much different from his own set of browns and greys. But what really caught his eye was the two crystal blue eyes that met his from across the floor. He forgot himself for a moment and just sat their for a few seconds looking at her like a spirit had appeared before him. Then his sense kicked back it. It had been awhile sense he'd been caught off guard by a female like this. Especially one so attractive as this.

Turning his body and bringing himself up to his feet, the three scars on my muzzle now visible to her even here in the faint light, he gave a respectful bow of his head. A shy and somewhat embarrassed smile finding it's way to his face, his ears managed to hold their ground, staying upright and confident, but a slight, nervous flick of his tail escaped unsuppressed. His embarrassment faintly visible in his voice, he spoke. "My apologies. I didn't see you there." bringing his gaze up to meet hers again, he continued. "It was a song that I was singing. I didn't mean for it to be about you. That was just a coincidence I suppose." He was taken away here.

Newol did believe in coincidence, but his approach was that it did not happen very often. Fate and God's will put moments together on this planet. They arranged it so that you could obtain anything you truly wanted as long as it was good and with honest intentions. All that you need do is have the courage and belief to charge forward and Earn them. There was nothing for those that didn't believe in themselves. That said, those that had the brutes favor did have one thing that was going for them, and that was his loyalty to fault. He was willing to do most of the leg work. So with this in mind, he offered this beautiful creature before him a welcoming smile and introduced himself, his rebellious confidence back underneath him. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Newol."

Elsa listened as the man explained that he wasn't talking to her and a humorous grin grew across her muzzle. "I know." She razzed him further as she started to explain herself the the beauty. "I don't believe you is part of a song my father taught me. He'd look just like you'd want him to, some kind of slick chrome American prince. Blue Jean serenade, Moon River what'd you do to me. I don't believe you." She explained to the man before her, the words were strange, that was for sure. She had never heard of jeans and she had no idea what an American was. But it sounded soft, sweet, almost romantic and her father had a bit of a Romeo complex. "Elsa Winterfall. Sola Knight of Ebony." She introduced with a small bow back. Her confidence surprised her. Perhaps being with a family to call her own, a pack who treated her like she wasn't some contagious disease was getting rid of the shyness she had so desperately held onto in isolation. She looked him in his green eyes and a small smile grew. He was a handsome man now wasn't he?

She noted the scars he held across his muzzle, seems he fought for what he believed in now didn't it. Three of them spread across the top of his muzzle and she had no idea what they were from. As a healer she was quite interested in finding out what it was. The dark chocolate color mixed in with almost a light brown tea type color or light mocha color really suited him. He seemed strong and independent. He smelled like a loner and Elsa was confident that if she could convince him about Ebony, that Raisa would take him in a heartbeat. No doubt he would be an Ebon if he did. Elsa was in too much of a hurry to drag him over there though, he could have plans of his own and that would be quite rude. She took a deep breathe. "What would a man like you be doing here all alone?" She asked in an almost teasing manner. That small smile that held resident on her face only grew more and more. So what was he doing out in the caverns all alone? Surely a handsome and gentlemen like man as he would have a mate to travel with.

Newol

She quickly corrected him on his assumption, and that provided some relief to him. She then proceeded to explain that she too had been singing herself. A song her father had taught her. And as she continued along with the part of the song that it had been from, something stirred inside the brute's soul to hear her voice handle the verse of music gracefully. He was no stranger to being swayed by a female, but it was still something that made his heart race. However, he did good to keep himself at bay, not allowing his mind to race off into immature thoughts. He wanted to treat this very pleasant moment as a gentlemen and make a good impression on this woman. The words of her song where strange, but not too unfamiliar thanks to the diversity he'd met in the wilderness of the world as a loner. One in particular, American. One of the tenses of the word America. It was a location. That much he knew. Then finally, she introduced himself. Elsa Winterfall.

Winter was a very potent theme to a wolf of the Zaraidd bloodline, which Newol was. He was a Loner child of a runaway Scion, but the royal high pedigree blood pulsed through his veins none the less. This much was clear by his high pedigree looks. Even of he as a soul echoed more of rebellious chaos and joy. The fall of Winter was a call for a Zaraidd. All of it's great members rose up and claimed their glory in the cold snow. Nothing helped to highlight the fire of one's soul like surrounding it with cold to show the scale of difference. So even her very name caused the attraction to grow in his chest. Finally finding his voice, he spoke again in a humble and confident voice. "A beautiful song, and a beautiful name, Miss Winterfall. I'm very pleased to meet you." He wanted to explain the meaning of his own song, but the moment had not presented itself. So he carried on and answered her question.

Thinking of why he was here, the answer was actually pretty simple. He'd had nothing better to do with his day and couriosity had begged him on after hearing of this place from another loner. But now, something told him that he'd been meant to come here today. "Well, it's quite simple really. I have no where to belong at and no one to belong to at the moment. So I figured I'd go exploring for something fascinating." and with that, he made his first small advance, making up his mind that he would. A handsome and charming smile and light coming to his maw and eyes, he mused his next words. "And now I can certainly say it was not a wasted endeavor." This woman was the first fea he had met thus far in this land that struck his fancy so. So he'd come to the conclusion that he'd be foolish to not try and get her attention.

The man cajoled her with his sweet and well placed words. This man did not have a home and that perked her interest as well. A handsome loner such as he was on his home? How curious and fortunate that she happened to stumble upon him. She felt the heat rise into her cheeks with every word that he had said. "If it is a home you need, Ebony would love to have such a capable man as yourself." She said with a kind and benevolent voice. "Your song, the one you were singing, what is that one about?" She asked with interest in the male. It was quite obvious that she was checking him out no matter how much he tried to hide it. She felt more heat rise to her cheeks. She really couldn?t take a compliment or be around men without feeling that heat in her cheeks. She had really made his endeavor worth it? She took a deep breathe to calm her heart rate down but to no avail. It was beating fast and she could do nothing to stop it.

Saw Cinderella in a party dress, she was looking for a nightgown. I saw the devil wrapping up his hands, he's getting ready for the showdown. I saw the minute that I turned away, I got my money on a pawn tonight. Change came in disguise of revelation, set his soul on fire. She said she always knew he'd come around. And the decades disappear like sinking ships but we persevere. God gives us hope but we still fear what we don't know. She sang the song in her head to help her calm herself down. Her father had done that and it worked before, it was working now. The song was sad and almost depressing.

Newol

He noticed the way that she was looking at him and so decided he would do his best to continue to impress her, the first guilty thought coming to his mind. He quickly suppressed it thought, again forcing his mind to hold off on that for now. As she continued to eye him over, he settled himself on his rump, a pleasant and confident grin positioning itself on his face as he perched his head above his broad shoulders. He made no discretion to hide his eyes passing over her body themselves just once before again settled on her own blue orbs. He liked this female. That much was certain. He had now made up his mind that he would now definitely court this woman.

But her next words threw him for a little bit of a loop. He was a loner, and not too keen on joining anyone's pack. Especially now that he was such good friends with Erani and some of the other Valhalla wolves. Newol was always afraid of joining a pack. One of the advantages of being a Loner was that you got to know wolves for who they where. The creature underneath the rank and title. However, he feared that in a pack he would get lost in all of the ranks and titles and lose that. Still, he would try none the less. "Thank you for the kind offer, Elsa. But I am content where I am. However, I do thoroughly enjoy the company." And then, finally, she inquired about his song. This caused his pulse to speed up just a tad as he pandered over how he might be able to use this moment to charm the woman's heart a little more. With a smooth and soft voice, he uttered some more of the words of the song. "And I wonder. When I sing along with you. If everything could ever feel this real Forever. If anything could ever be this good again. The only thing I'd ever ask of you, You've got to promise not to stop when I say when. She Sang." When he was done, he lowered his gaze to his paws. He was old enough by now to play this game, but he wasn't experienced with it. Going by instinct as he tried to make nothing but positive marks with this woman before him.

Finally, he opened his maw to explain. His voice soft and gentle. "It's a song I learned in the wilderness, a pretty handful of loners know it." Finally, he brought his green eyes back up to meet her's, "It's about a fleeting moment in time that can't make up it's mind if it wants to last, of if it's just a once in a lifetime thing, where two Souls harmonized together beautifully." He knew why the song applied so well. Being a loner was a nothing for granted lifestyle. You couldn't be for certain if the person beside you at that moment was someone you'd ever see again. But this female before him. He wanted to see her again. He wanted to know more about her. She fascinated him.
