How had she wandered so far? It seemed only a day ago that the blue and green waters of the ocean were just a thin line on the horizon. Now her ebony paws were drenched in sticky salty water and her sapphires were scrunched against the biting ocean wind. Just her luck.

Natana had her regular bag of herbs bound to her right hind leg in case she needed them, as always. She had been trained to be prepared for any situation, but it seemed that ever since she came to Alacritis she hadn't needed it at all. She had hardly encountered any wolves who needed her expertise. Honestly it was quite a bit insulting.

"Not like they don't need me..." she muttered to herself, kicking a pebble that crossed her path. Those damn pups and young tyrants all needed proper healing, they were just careless and thought that those wounds that they so foolishly received would just go away and not affect them when they got older. They didn't know any better.

She reached the soft shoreline with a sigh of relief. The sand felt much better on her paws then the rocky landscape that led up to it. Just as she was settling her weary limbs on the sandy beach, she heard an unfamiliar sound and nearly whipped her head in the direction of its origin.
What the-?
Lying with its body half in the tide and half on the beach was a creature which Natana had never seen in her long life. It seemed to be struggling with some sort of black mesh that was tangled in its...paws? fins? It had to be some sort of fish, but had no gills. It had a long and pointed muzzle with a flat flipper for a tail. Perhaps some sort of whale? The woman could see that it was in pain and that blood welled from beneath the black mesh. Should she approach it?
Instead of following her instincts to run, the ebony girl shifted her paws restlessly, unsure of her next move.
It might hurt me...
Oh, fuck it. I've had a long enough life.
Well toned muscles propelled her hindlegs from the sitting position and pushed her quickly across the sand towards the struggling creature. While she ran, her mind raced through possible herb poultices that may help the wounds heal before it re-entered the waves. She could mix her yarrow root with some comfrey and plantain to aid in the fast healing process and pain...but perhaps she would instead go for chamomile...

How strange was it to run into not one but two that had been part of the Nomads. Something about the white female held an allure to stick around her, to learn from her. She had never felt like that since Skogos had passed away. The death of her mentor was the reason she had left. He had been murdered, throat ripped out, a harsh death for the brute but kind grey male. So to have this feeling again was very confusing. She had never been close to anyone, an outside among the Nomads. She had to leave that huge group of wolves, to get away and gather her thoughts. She had promised to return, to speak with Erani. Maybe she would stick around the older female to see where things went.

The dull brown girl with snowflake like markings on her legs and face padded blindly along the shore. Her mind so full of question, non having a answer. A sound so unusual made her ears twitch and bring her back to the present. Sharp blue eyes lifted to see some strange creature tangled in a things that could only remind her of a climbing plant's vines. Brows furrowed down in confusing as she watched a ebony colored female fussing over the strange thing. Was it prey? Was it safe. Slowly she continued forward till she stood just a foot away from the scene. "What is it?" She asked softly as her eyes noted the wounds on it. What did this too it? A pang of sorrow wrapped around her heart for the poor thing.

She reached the stressed creature in a short amount of time, and with little hesitation began to work at removing the black mesh from it's body. It was whistling and chirping in what she expected to be a whole lot of pain, for she could see that up close the wounds were much worse than they had previously seemed.

Natana was so busy biting at the mesh with her teeth that she hardly noticed the arrival of a female lupine shortly after her own. Sapphire eyes widened when she turned her head with a momentary start.
"What is it?" The woman asked her. She could see that the girl was a member of the marked nomad healers, like herself. Half trained in the art of healing, by the looks of it. With a curt nod of acknowledgement, Natana turned back to her work, pitying the poor beast who had been cursed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"It is some type of whale, a creature of the sea who lives underwater but requires air to breathe. A strange thing..." She trailed off while she bit through the last thick cord wrapping its body. "...that must constantly stay hydrated with sea water as long as it is beached on land." She turned back to the female and passed a large wad of moss from her pack. "SOak this in sea water and dab it on it's skin? Then I'll show you the best poultice to use for these wounds."

The ebony dame turned back to her pack, assuming the young healer would follow her orders and that she would be eager to learn. Natana did not care much for pleasantries when there was a job to be done. It felt good to be using the skills she was born with gain, even if it was to aid the health of what could be a great feast for a small pack of wolves.
If I had still been with a pack...
She shrugged, a soft smile growing on her features. Obviously, she was much more needed here on the outskirts.

Upon hearing the sharp whistles of the slender sea creature, the fae padded upon the scene, her small and delicate paws making prints in the yellow, grainy snowish substance. She had been wandering a while now, and took great notice of the once familiar and soft, white snow turning into a more warmer and coarser texture. Her pale blue orbs traced the outlines of both females before her. The fae's large, bushy gray tail flickered from side to side as she took time to process the situation. The bright sun was already causing her to pant from her thick fur both reflecting and absorbing the heat.

"U-um," the shy fae stuttered. "Wh-What is that thing? It makes a-an awful lot of n-noise." The fae shifted her paws nervously. She didn't really enjoy talking to strangers much but her curiosity got the best of her.
