Fury clawed at Loki as he stalked over the land withered land. His skin felt hot, prickly, from far more than just the summer that had the land in it's grip. Ripples of light shone in his silky fur as his pelt twitched and shuddered restlessly. How dare he, how dare Skoll presume to speak to him that way? To just waltz in from his oh-so-happy life in Vili's pack and make insinuations and insult him, demand he return to take control of the pack? Loki had made it clear in no uncertain terms that he had no intention of ever returning to that nightmare of a family and that if Skoll wanted him back he'd need to drag him there in pieces.
The way the fool kid stood there and smiled so peacefully all the time, it was easy to forget sometimes how casually violence came to him. On second he'd been snarling in Skoll's face, the next he was on the ground, stunned by the swiftness and strength of the blow that had knocked him down. Skoll had still been smiling around the blood bathing his pale muzzle when he'd leaned down to murmur his words in Loki's ear before sauntering away. By the time Loki had shaken off the confusion, the brother was long gone, and Loki's rage was consuming him.
Blood still dripped from the wound on his muzzle, staining the ground with every step. It wasn't usually in him, this rage, this fury, but the idea of going back to that life he'd been in, giving up this newfound freedom, provoked a deep sense of... were he to admit it... fear. Fear, and self-loathing because he knew he was terrified, and rage that Skoll would drive him to that. So blinded was he by this that he very nearly stumbled in to the crypt.
He paused for just a moment before up his mind and plunging into the dark interior. The blackness suited his mood, and the solitude would allow him to burn off his anger without harm. Maybe he'd lose himself forever in the maze of tunnels rumored to be here.
But that was not to be. No sooner had he gotten out of reach of the sun's rays, still within sight of the exit, that he tripped over the napping form of a wolf. Loki thrust himself back to his feet, turning on the wolf with a snarl.
