Lizzy Buxton

Lizzy trotted jauntily down the beach, allowing the salty seaspray to wet her white-and-gold coat. After the terrible heat, it felt almost decadent to have the cooler water touch her skin. Besides, there was no one there to see her behaving so indecently, splashing about in the water like a puppy. Her tail flagged behind her happily, bedraggled from the seawater and flinging salty water every which-way as it wagged wildly from side to side.

Well and so what if she were behaving indecently? It was hot out and she needed to cool down, and if she chose to play as she did who was to know or care but herself?

The young wolf pounced into the water again just as an unexpectedly large wave came up to crash into her, sending her tumbling in the shallow water. She came back to her feet sputtering and laughing out loud in sheer joy.

There was something Alpine found alluring about the sight of water, the feel of its coolness and the serenity it brought with it. A fact only further proved after recent events... the big brute was now far more weary of the scent of females since recent adventures, he had just started to learn that summer was a treacherous time to be near the hormonal creatures. Even as these thoughts brought forth a chuckle from his mind and his paws reached yet another new source of water in the Alacritis region he saw the female.

He almost rolled his eyes at himself but knew he would not allow himself to such folly again, but nor would he be so ruse as to turn tail and leave without even a hello. Besides, he had been looking forward to the feel of the cool water against his coat, the rapids he had left had been to fast-moving for a simple swim.

He watched for a moment as she threw herself energetically against the water and he realised she was just a young thing and he found himself letting out a sigh of relief, he wasn?t really ready to deal with any fully grown females again just yet.
?The water looks good, mind if I join you??
He called out to the younger wolf, careful not to startle her or frighten her by approaching without a greeting. So he stood there, the sincerity of his nature showing in his smile.

The white maiden trotted quickly onto the beach, looking for some water to cool her down. Even with a light coat like hers, this summer weather was becoming unbearable. Her paws moved rapidly over the hot sand, not lingering in one place for too long. Unfortunately, some of the hot little granules were getting stuck between her toes. Adelaide let out a short grunt of frustration. Oh well, she thought. I'll be in the water soon.

Her blue eyes glinted with excitement as she neared the water's edge. Just as she was preparing to jump in, a large wave came tumbling toward her. As it rolled closer, she saw a small wolf coming with it. Adelaide yelped for a moment before simultaneously colliding with the water and the stranger. She laughed with the little female and untangled herself. "I'm sorry," she giggled. "I didn't see you there, dear."

Adelaide stepped back, keeping her legs submerged in the refreshing water. Her wet tail flipped from side to side eagerly, releasing drips of water everywhere. She couldn't wait to swim around in the bay. But she stayed for a moment first, to make sure this young girl was okay. Then she sensed another wolf nearby.

She backed away slightly as she realized it was a male. She was in season, and she knew better than to be around them at this time. Her crystalline eyes were wary as she nodded at him. Still best to be polite, she reminded herself.

The male spoke, asking if he could join them in the water. Adelaide looked to the young girl at her side and adjusted her position slightly, protecting her. "Of course not. Feel free to cool off with us." She knew that it didn't matter what she was feeling. Her voice was kind and welcoming. Whether or not she felt safe was another matter for the female.

Lizzy squeaked as another canine body crashed into her, sending her flailing through the waves again. She was still laughing as the other wolf untangled them. "Oh, think nothing of it," she chortled. "It is simply the best way to meet people; no one has time to feel awkward as they are much too busy drowning." She winked cheekily at the older woman.

A masculine voice broke through Lizzy's reverie of fun and she looked toward the visitor with alacrity. Her blue eyes twinkled and she couldn't resist teasing him sassily. "If I owned this bay I'd be a rich wolf indeed," she laughed. "Of course I don't mind." She made an expansive gesture with her tail toward the sparkling waters of the bay. Maybe it would be more ladylike to remove herself from the water and retreat somewhere private to make herself more presentable but Lizzy saw no reason to; he had already seen her playing in the ocean like a child, after all, and his opinion could hardly be swayed any further than it was.

As Alpine watched the younger wolf was carried by a wave that swept through the water, bowling the other into a new comer Alpine had originally missed seeing. He tensed for a moment but it seemed neither of the two were hurt as they untangled in laughter, a smile tugged at the corners of the brute?s lips as he watched the carefree actions of the two.

He shook out the cramps in his muscles and bounded forward with the friendly words of the two faes, as his paws hit the water and a spray crossed his muzzle he caught the underlining scent of the new comer and threw himself to a halt in the water. Standing in the sheepish wake of his spray he eyed the two wolves, certain of which wolf had bared the scent he had come to fear.

He took this moment to dive fully in the water, submersing himself in is watery depths and feeling relief wash over him with it. He was determined to enjoy himself. He would try keep downwind of the older fae even as he submerged from the water near the younger and shook out his coat in front of her, ensuring her already wet body became drenched with his spray.
?Rich indeed, my queen?
He teased in an Imation of a feminine sass, dropping a wink to know he meant no offense as he dived under the water again and paddled lazily in its depths.

Adelaide saw the male tense as he noticed her scent, but he did nothing else to show his discomfort. He simply teased the young girl and dove into the bay. The pretty white girl sighed with relief. This male was respectful, she would be safe. Once the thoughts had left her mind, she turned to the female she had crashed into earlier. They both had clear blue eyes, but all similarities between the two ended there. Her coat was a unique shade of yellow, with lighter shades beneath her chin and stomach.

"I suppose it is the easiest way to meet someone," she chuckled. She paused for a moment and plunged her head under the surface of the water. When her head was raised again, it was dripping wet. She sighed contentedly as the cool water trickled down her hot neck. As the male resurfaced for a moment, she spoke again. "My name is Adelaide. And what may I call you both?"

It may have been strange for her to ask so openly, but Adelaide was one who didn't like to be kept in the shadows. While she held a reputation for being clever and manipulative, it never felt right to have the tables turned. Furthermore, she wanted to know how to address her new acquaintances. So she smiled and waited for the two wolves to respond as the water swayed and lapped at her ankles.

Lizzy cast a slightly bemused look between the two other wolves, who were obviously unsettled around each other. She was hardly ignorant of the birds and the bees, with so many elder siblings she'd been able to pick up on a lot of what wasn't outright said for propriety's sake, and she was well aware that the female was in heat. Still, it would hardly be proper to make mention of it, so she would simply have to ignore it.

She squeaked again as the male shook water all over her, and swept water playfully at him with her paw. "That is simply no way to treat a queen, good sir," she returned laughingly.

The female, who introduced herself as Adelaide, inquired as to her own name. "I have been remiss in failing to introduce myself. My sincerest apologies," Lizzy declared, her eyes twinkling in a way that made it clear she wasn't serious. "Miss Elizabeth Abigail Buxton, ma'am." She bobbed in a short curtsy-like motion. "Do call me Lizzy, please."

Alpine was pleased to see the other wolf continue the bantering, and listened also to the newly introduced Adelaide, and Elizabeth ?Lizzie? follow suit. He settled his rump down, submerging it fully in the water so that only his top half remained.
?It is my pleasure to meet you both, Adelaide, and Queen Elizabeth Abigail Buxton ? what a mouth full!"

He tilted his head to the side and looked at the two girls before him. It was a change to fall into this relax-fullness so different from other scenes he had entered of late. He enjoyed the easy banter and the play and decided he would much rather be a kid for the moment then the fully grown Gamma wolf he was.
?And my apologies also, my ladies, my name is Alpine, of the Valhalla pack?
He bowed his head low so that the tip of his nose touched the surface of the water. Before leaping forward, moving to touch Adelaide with the tip of his nose, holding his breathe against her intoxicating scent as he did so.
Aaaand it
He cried, turned, and paddled through the water away, dropping a wink as he did so

The girl continued to dip her head in occasionally as her two acquaintances spoke, relaxing as the water slid gracefully down. The black markings on her face seemed to leak, but she didn't care. She put on a playful smirk as the two wolves introduced themselves. "And it is my pleasure as well, Lady Lizzie," Adelaide replied, continuing the banter they had started. Then the brute introduced himself as Alpine of the Valhalla pack and asked if she had a nickname.

"To be honest, sir, I'd never thought about it before. I suppose it could be Addy." Even as the words passed her lips, she gave a decisive nod. Addy. She liked that nickname.

But before she could dip her head down for another splash, Alpine surged forward and bumped his nose to hers, declaring her "it". With a shocked giggle, she bounded after him, crashing through the waves like an excited pup. She had to admit, it felt good to let go and cool off on a hot day like this.

Lizzy laughed aloud at the gallant older male's teasing. Queen Elizabeth indeed. The other woman carried on the joke, calling her Lady Lizzy, and she smiled cheekily at them both. "Sir Alpine, Lady Addy, an absolute pleasure." Suddenly, quite unexpectedly really, Alpine tagged Addy with his nose, declared her "it" and sped off through the waves, Addy pursuing him like a pup. Lizzy grinned and would have immediately bounded after them, but hesitated. Surely what was proper alone or among peers would changed amongst mixed company of this sort, and would it not be inappropriate for her to act the ruffian?

Lizzy gave a sharp shake of her head in wry amusement at herself. How silly of her to be worried about proprieties at this juncture, when she'd been acting the ruffian since they'd approached her. With a joyful bark she sprinted after the pair, then bounced in front of Alpine to splash water at him, hoping to foil him so that Addy could catch him, then she turned tail and raced a little further into the waves, giggling. "Is that how poorly all Valhallans play tag, Sir Alpine?" she laughed.

With a rush of waves Alpine could feel the force of Addy tearing through the waves after him, a shocked giggle sounding after her and Alpine found himself grinning, having been the cause of it. There was a moment?s pause from Lizzy before she too joined the game, splashing in from of him cause him to veer slightly to the right and pause to shake water from his eyes. In doing so would have given Addy plenty of time to in turn tag Alpine and the brute shot a teasingly stern expression after Lizzy That would depend, do all queens play dirty tricks like you??
He teased, and shook the water from his coat in the hopes of hitting droplets on them all.
Assuming Addy then tagged him he would bunch up his powerful hind legs and leap after Lizzy, it was after all her turn to be tagged. Landing in a heavy splash of water her would tear after whatever way Lizzy went, keeping an eye on Addy in case she became an easier target.

Adelaide let out an endless fit of giggles as she trailed after the white brute. Soon she noticed that Lizzy had joined the game, pouncing through the waves with a childlike grace. She stopped in front of Alpine and splashed him violently, aiming to deter him. It worked. Alpine veered to the right and paused to wipe the mist from his eyes, which gave Adelaide all the time she needed to catch up. She sprinted through the water and leapt, closing the distance between them. Her soaked white paw came up to swat at the male's face.

"Now you're it," the woman teased, bumping her hip against his as she hurried away. Another laugh passed her lips as he shook out his coat in a rain of cold droplets. Some of them hit her, but she didn't mind. She just grinned as the game continued. Alpine's muscular legs stretched as he righted his path toward Lizzy. It was her turn now.

The white girl felt a wicked grin crawl across her face. This was her chance. She was the queen of sabotage. The black tip of Adelaide's tail whipped excitedly as she chased after Lizzy, keeping a safe distance from the one who was "it" - Alpine seemed focused on the other girl for now. The foxlike woman cut her way through the waves, turning Lizzy's path and kicking a mist of water at her in the process. One more pass would bring her victim circling back, into the jaws - or rather paws - of the large snowy male. It was a hunting tactic often used when working in teams. Who said it couldn't be used here?

Adelaide twisted her body to the side, turning completely around and running to intercept the younger female once more. The wicked smile stayed on her maw as she worked to sabotage her new friend. It was only a game, after all. Some trickery was to be expected.
