"Is There A Right Way For How This Goes?"

It was done. The boy had become a new member just a day or so ago, joined a pack he knew nothing about save for the close bonds that they seemed to hold. He had witnessed the battle upon the fields of blood some time ago, and although the Alphess had lost, he felt drawn. He felt no inclination to follow, let alone get anywhere near the opposing pack. They were blood thirsty tyrants hell bent on making the world around them miserable, reminding him too much of his brother...Lunatik. A shudder rippled through his body, the memories of losing his mother in that terrible fight plagued his mind. Would he ever find peace? Would he ever find one to love him like his mother had? Would he ever make her proud? He only wondered. Life seemed to enjoy dealing him a bad hand every change it got. Lunatik killed his mother, separated him from his family, gave him constant emotional insecurities, and lately he felt nothing but alone. However, was he really alone? He had met a young girl not too long ago named Odette, she seemed kind enough...enough to even call him a friend. He had rescued her from an ill fate after all, was that what considered someone a friend? Was he permanently fixated into the life of another without realizing it? Perhaps. At least, she was in his. He had a friend, she was his friend...He hadn't even asked her, and yet it happened. Was that how friendships formed? Was that how everything began? Unknown to one another and somehow intertwining without realization? Perhaps...it was one of life's greatest mysteries.

Toes felt the gentle touch of the waters edge as he stared out across the waters. The reflection of the morning sun glinting upon its ever moving surface. The reflection in turn, reflected upon the pure ivory of his own coat that contrasted against the black of his markings. Deep blue eyes nearly always portrayed a deep emotion that went unnamed...however, today it was sadness that was poorly hidden. He always was bad at hiding what he felt, but happiness was something he was foreign to. He could not remember the last time he had been happy, but he felt that maybe, he was meant to never know what it was. Pessimistic thinking...he hated it! But alas, it could not be helped. He would continue as usual, helping those around him to smile and be happy, even if he himself was not. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he stared out over the waters, quiet tranquility surrounding his form.

She was content. Odette was happy, Valhalla had reformed beneath a more than competent leader, it didn't take as much getting used to as she thought it would to be a part of Valhalla and not be leading it. It stung at first, that her mother had filled her ranks with other wolves and hadn't even glanced in her direction - but she understood. She was half blind, she had lost, she had respect that she had to earn back even if the woman was kind enough not to point it out to her and send her reeling. Perhaps it was the line between being an alpha and being her mother that made it hard to say aloud. Whatever the case, Chrysanthe would not push it, only do her best as a gamma and enjoy the time to look after herself and her family.

It left her with a little more time than she knew what to do with in terms of reflecting. Paws carried her aimlessly through vast Valhallan territory. The scent of home was comforting, and her mind was set to wander. Silently she would gather herself at the edge of Wolfpaw lake, the little area managed to be somewhat green despite the summer weather. It was morning, giving the water a certain shimmer that it didn't have at other points of the day. Looking out at the water, it would be from across the bank that she would see the stranger step into the water. With her one good eye she could see that he was deep in thought, and her ears would perk, wondering immediately what weighed so heavily on his mind.

He didn't smell like he had been in Valhalla very long - and it was no longer her job to get to know the pack's members, but she was still curious. Not to mention she was compelled to empathize, to understand, to help. It was a natural part of the woman, nearly instinctual, for her to quietly support those that allowed her to. Chrysanthe would gather herself up and gently pace toward him, letting out a small bark in greeting once she was close, to let the other know that he wasn't alone. "Hello there, you're not a face I have a name for." Looking at him closer, she had seen him, briefly, in glances - but she wasn't quite sure where or why. "By any means, welcome to Valhalla." A small smile would play on her lips, and she would wait for his reply, hoping that he introduced himself proper before doing so herself.

"I'm Chrysanthe - it's always nice to meet more of the pack." A pack that was no longer hers, but that she would still fight (and lose) to try and protect.

He remained in quiet air, the morning silent and serene around him save for the rippling sound of the lake. Lost in thought, the cross marked male had not detected the presence of the other until she had made it known. He would turn to face her, and immediately flashes of recognition would plague his mind. It was the woman upon the battlefield, the one fighting to keep her pack from the enemy, though untold mysteries had caused her to lose the pack to the power hungry enemy. It was she that Jinxx had been drawn to that day, silently willing her to achieve her goals. But it would be fate that had granted the opposing side victory, only to release into the claws of another.

She greeted him, and he inclined his head in respectful greeting. Thoughts behind his blue windows dissipating as he retrieved the emotions of calm to hide what he wanted others to not know...at least not yet. He didn't want to look weak in the eyes of others, and so did his best on a day to day basis to appear as if his life was perfect, however lonely he felt. "Thank you, it is a pleasure to reside here. I suppose I must thank Erani for that." He offered a small smile as he removed himself from the shallows of the waters to stand slightly upshore, his coat gleaming within the light. Deep blue eyes looked over the female for no more then a few seconds, respecting her privacy and not wanting to seem like he was scrutinizing her. A sudden burst of embarrassment washed over him, a light blush rising upon creamy white cheeks as he cleared his throat. Erm, my name is Jinxx Black. A wolf of the Cross."

He would introduce himself promptly, and it did not take long for him to learn the name of the one he had seen before. He dipped his head again, a nervous habit of his, though often did not realize it. "It is nice to properly meet you, Miss Chrysanthe."
