The gray female found herself wandering without a destination in mind. Her paws carried her aimlessly forward, and despite the fact that she looked skinnier than a wolf ought with winter on the horizon, Serra moved with grace. She held her head high as she walked, tail waving like a proud banner in the air. For the moment, Serra had no goal; it was unlikely that her brother would be found here of all places. This was not the kind of place that she could easily picture Quelt. But perhaps the world would surprise her and she would spy the beloved form of her adored brother in these hills.

She wasn't holding her breath though. For the moment, Serra was just basking in the cool autumn air and stretching her legs, enjoying the way the wind stirred her multi-colored fur. It was a nice day for wandering. And Serra figured that she could not be harmed by exploring a little - perhaps she would find traces of Quelt and perhaps she would simply learn the lay of the land a little better. Of course, at the rate she was going, Serra might never find Quelt. She had chased signs of him to kingdom come, and had come no closer than she had been when she set off after him in the first place. In her mind, anything was better than sitting back on her heels and waiting for Quelt to come back though. He had always been their leader, and it wasn't right that he would vanish now, when he was closer to assuming the rank he had been promised since birth than ever before.

Anyways, their pack just wasn't the same without him. And it was nice to get a chance to move without everyone watching her. Serra could sleep in if she wanted to, and wander wherever she wanted to. It was something that she had taken to with ease, though Serra did occasional find herself lonely. Right then, however, she was content with wandering along, placing her paws easily one in front of the other. She wasn't in any rush to get anywhere, after all.
