She was tired of it all. The dismay of losing him, the happiness of his return, followed by disappointment and anger again. Maija Artenie was sick of worrying about where he was and what he was doing. Explanations were now poor excuses in her mind. If he had any smarts, he would know that she didn't put up with bullshit. Her wrath had only been small the first time. Now, she was not one to be messed with.
The tornado of emotions that swirled in Maija's heart and mind had enough force to knock over a small island. Since she couldn't physically do that due to her size, she did what she could do best: settle for destroying bits and pieces of the island that had been her home. The security and serenity of the small piece of land was not that anymore. They symbolized her being away from the world, which was something she had wanted before meeting Taurig. Now, she was ready to get away from what the island had represented and she was going to do it. NOW.
Roars and moans had sounded across the island, scaring the prey that had quietly grazed on its grassy knolls. Everything had taken cover when she had stomped through, fur standing on end and green eyes blazing. Paths had been left in her wake and she intended on making them stick. After three days of anger built up, Maija had taken it upon herself to damage as much as she could. When she returned to her chosen piece of beach, she felt better for it.
Thankfully, the children hadn't seen her rampage. They knew how upset she was, but she didn't show it to them when she was around. Instead, she had insisted they go with Uncle Falk for a couple of days so she could sort out what their next move would be. As the sun was starting to head towards the western part of the sky, Maija looked at the mainland so many miles away, contemplating on when she would see Sibelle again. She needed to talk to the russet-furred queen. It was indeed urgent.

The woman hadn't return to the island since Taurig had returned. She have ventured to the mainland shortly after and had gotten so caught up in her own life that she hadn't had time to return. But there was a pause in her day and so the russet beauty would venture towards the shoreline, leaving behind Covari for the moment. She would steel herself before plunging into the frigid waters. Winter was an awful time to cross the ocean to travel to the island, but she wanted to see her brother, Maija and all her nieces and nephews.

Legs churned the water until toes brushed against the sand. The woman would pull herself from the waters, russet pelt dripping, even as she shook the excess water from her bodice. A shiver ran down her spine as the woman dragged herself up the shore, sand clinging to her wet paws. Verdant gaze scanned the beach, distant roars of anger catching her attention. Brows would furrow, and worry would fill her chest. The woman would pick up a trot, tattered audits swiveling in every direction, trying to pinpoint the source of the sound. But before she needed to, a familiar golden form slide from the tree line. Immediately the russet temptress would rush towards her sister in law, a smile pulling at pale lips.

"Maija! Is everything ok? I heard an awful noise." Tail would wag as she closed the distance between herself and the woman. At first she didn't notice the rage and pain that were etched in golden features, it wasn't until she stood about a foot from the woman that she would notice. Immediately concern filled her russet features, eyes searching the woman's body for any signs of harm, but there was none. Crown would tip to the side, ears falling loosely against her skull. What had happened? "Maija?" The woman's name fell quietly from pale lips, pleading with the woman to tell her what was wrong.

Since the children were with their uncle and away from the island, Maija had no problem letting her emotions show. Her anger and hurt rolled into one was evident on her face and she didn't hesitate to let her disturbed gaze glare at Sibelle. Her sister-in-law was not the one to throw her negativity to, but she had to talk it out or she would blow up! It had happened when Taurig finally returned, and it would most likely happen again if she didn't do something.
Maija hadn't calmed down yet, so her chest was heavily moving up and down with her deep inhales and exhales. They didn't calm down any part of her, but did show how upset she was. Her body trembled with the remaining anger that hadn't left from her destroying the parts of the island she could reach, but she didn't dare attempt to hurt Sibelle. Her leaf-green eyes met Sibelle's own acid-toned gems and her Romanian accent was very strong when she started to speak.
"He's gone. Taurig is gone...AGAIN!" Her voice trembled like her body, sides tightening with each deep exhale she gave. "After he came back, he didn't even stay for two weeks. WHAT KIND OF MAN DOES THAT?!" She slowly stalked past Sibelle, eyes glaring at the cold water that continued to hit against the beach. Her gold ears flattened themselves against her head as she growled loudly at the air in front of her. "He didn't leave because of sickness this time, Sibelle. Who did I fall in love with and marry? Who was the man that fathered my children and swore to be there for us?" She gave a sarcastic laugh and it greatly resembled a bark. "NOT HIM, THAT'S WHO! How could I have been so FUCKING BLIND?!" Maija realized her pun, but didn't voice any sign that she did.
Slowly, she turned back to look at Sibelle and her tail twitched behind her in high annoyance. "I open up my heart and he takes it without showing any hesitance or signs that he was going to steal it. He knows how it has been for me and he fucks me over -- not once, but TWICE." Her face held a horrible snarl, and her eyes flashed in anger and disappointment. "I trusted him, more than I had anyone in my short life, and he goes and does this." The snarl slowly smoothed out and her familiar, stony look returned. "I will never be able to forgive him after this, Sibelle."

Her sister in law looked like she was about to explode. Her chest heaved, her gaze was like daggers, and when she spoke, her tones were like acid. He's gone. Her heart dropped into her stomach. No, it couldn't be, Taurig wouldn't just up and leave them. But Maiaj continued, confirming it. Disappointment swirled in her heart, slowly being replaced by anger. He had a family! How could he possibly just take off? Again! The golden woman's movement caught her attention as she slinked by. She would pivoting, watching Maija unload her burden.

Part of her felt bad for the woman, but it wouldn't show, she imagined that the last thing Maija wanted was pity. She allow the woman to finish speaking, but she had no idea what to say. She never expected her brother to just abandon them all again. Especially his kids and Maija, they meant to the world to him. A sad sigh would slip from her lips while her verdant gaze burned with unbridled anger. "I'm sorry, Maija. I never expected this from him." Her words were mostly neutral, tinged only by the slightest bit of rage and hurt. What had gotten into him>

"I've joined a pack, Covari, I'm one of the Betas, you and the kids should come back with me. It would be good for them, and you." The last of the woman's words echoed in her skull. She would never forgive Taurig. But in all honestly, the russet beauty wasn't sure she would be able to forgive him either. He had only just returned, only to leave again, and with no real reason. She would take a step towards the woman, hoping that the ideal might able to her. Getting off this island would be good for her, and even better for the kids. No else resided on the island anymore, they needed to get out and see the world. And so did Maija, she was still young, she couldn't confine herself to an island by herself.

The anger that had been released still festered in her chest and surrounded her heart. It was hot and acidic, something she was starting to enjoy. Maija didn't know how long it would take for the ice to harden around her beating core again, but she knew no one would dare get close to her again. She had trusted Taurig with everything she had and now that he had abandoned her - TWICE - she was sure that her heart would remain isolated from the world. However, despite the rage that she had towards her estranged husband, she knew that her love for the cobalt male would be hard to carve out of her heart and soul. For now, all she could do was take the negativity that drenched from his name and push it around those feelings. She would deal with them later.
From where she stood, Maija continued to look out at the ocean's cold waters. Temptation was definitely in the air as Sibelle encouraged her to leave the island for a better life on the mainland. She didn't have anything there anymore, except for the memories of her children growing up way too fast and Taurig becoming absent after only three months of their offspring's births. A long, soft sigh slipped through pursed lips as she automatically made up her mind. Slowly, Maija turned her head to look at Sibelle's own vivid green opts. Sibelle and Fawk would be the only wolves kin to Taurig that she would consider her 'family'. Even if the latter was not present as much as his sister, Fawk would still be noted in her mind as a supportive brother-in-law.
Her thoughts only dwindled slightly on the russet-furred memory as she let a small smile appear on her lips. Sibelle's words had worked their charms and the memories of her beloved sister-in-law attempting to befriend her made her decision more concrete. "Take me away from this place," she softly said, Romanian accent digging into the proper crevices of her words. "Our family must continue to flourish, and there is no hope for them here."

Though she couldn't see the woman's face, she could only hope that her words were working. And sure enough, they did. She would step closer, coming up beside her sister in law, seeing the small smile play on her golden face. She wanted to leave, she was willing to leave. Russet plume wagged slowly. Joy swelled in her chest, though it was minuscule against the grief and anger she held towards her brother. She would press her shoulder against the woman beside her, encouraging her quietly. "Let's get the kids and go then." She would plaster on a smile, hoping it looked earnest enough. She was happy to get what was left of her family away from the island, and onto happier places. She knew the kids would love the mainland, there was so much to do and so much to see. "You'll love it on the mainland and in Covari." Gentle words were meant to soothe, hoping to made the transition easier on her sister in law. She would let Maija take a step first, since she didn't know where the kids were and she figured Maija would. It would be quite a trip getting all the kids across the ocean and to Covari, they would all be exhausted without a doubt by the time they made it to their new home. "Vi also her has her children that the kids could play with, they are a bit younger however." It was idle chatter that was meant to shift the conversation to a lighter topic, and hopefully but Maija in a better mood. The russet beauty didn't know the extent of her betrayal, but she imagined that the golden woman would have a hard time getting close to anyone after this.

Maija allowed Sibelle to enter her personal bubble, felt her fur brush against her own golden pelt, and listened to the words that graced her bright ears. Her leaf green eyes began to harden, but remained softer than usual for the lady she considered family. As Sibelle mentioned the children, Maija lightly shook her head. "They are not here, actually." The words would have been scary if Maija didn't know where they were, but alas, the words were just that...words. "I asked Falk to take them for a couple of days. Once I knew that Taurig was not returning and my anger was becoming too much to handle, they had to go away for awhile."
She broke her gaze with Sibelle and looked back to the ocean in front of them. "As for Vi's children, I am sure they won't be too young for my babies to play with." Maija then thought of Pandora and a twinkle in her eye appeared. "Especially if Pandora behaves, but I don't see that happening." The images of Eon and Fakira wanting to play with younger red-pelted children made her chuckle. "They will think Eon a giant, considering his size. Fakira...one never knows." Freya and Bella, rolling around with Pandora, made her lightly shake her head again. "And what are my girls going to do when they realize they are the older ones, the role models? Who knows how that will affect them." Her babies were yearlings now, something she was not ready to accept, but had no choice. "They will be all right," she quietly admitted.
With another glance at Sibelle, she softly said, "Let us get to shore and get my children...So we can leave the past behind us." After that, she took a few steps forward before bounding into the water. Cold, salty water met her like a punch with enough force to knock someone out. Her defined frame continued to push through it as she swam the distance from the island to the mainland's shore. It was not long until her paws met the unfamiliar ground, where she rose up and shook all over. Her eyes searched for Sibelle and she waited for the russet-furred female before saying, "Never look back, correct, dear sister?" It was something she hadn't done very long, but was willing to do this time.

It surprised her to hear that kids weren't on the island, but she was soothed with the fact that Falk was watching them. She smirked at the thought of her brother trying to manage yearlings. The russet woman would listen closely as Maija spoke, explaining that her children would be fine with younger pups. "Their gonna do great." She would encourage quietly. She could only imagine how difficult this was for the woman. Everything she had ever known was on this island, and now she was leaving it behind.

She would plunge into the frigid water after her sister, gasping as the cold. Her pelt still had nit dried and now she was soaked to the bone again. She would be happy to be warm and dry again. Powerful legs churned the water as she trailed after the golden woman, not straying to far behind. Together, they would pull themselves from the waters, the russet woman taking a moment to shake the water from her pelt. "Yes." She would answer with a smile, just as determined as her sister in law. Taurig had failed her, failed his family, but she would not let her brothers mistake ruin her life or hold her back.
