Sound bent down to the water to drink. The cool water hit against the back of her throat, cooling the fever that's rested there. As she stood back, her tongue lolled. Alone beside the river, Sound felt at peace. Who needs anything other than nature? She'd been spending more and more time alone now. She had grown taller in her solitary state, her frame hinting a more feminine look to developers in months to come.
Pushing herself through the bracken, the girl made her way to her den. After sweeping aside the weeds that hung from above, she slumped down near the back. The den wasn't big, but a comfortable size for her. Sound's little amount of possessions occupied a corner. An eagle's feather, Brown with black hints at the edge. A few odd pebbles, all different shades of blue or green. A bundle of organized herbs and plants. Nothing too out of the ordinary. The girl had a strong interest in healing and herbs, but was too shy to approach others in the pack about them. With a short sigh of exhaustion, Sound closed her bi-coloured eyes and was soon in a deep sleep.
After a night of fitful sleep, Sound woke to darkness. That's odd... I can hear the birds singing, and the creatures rustling, the heat of the sun as well, but all is dark In a dazed stripper, Sound rose to her paws and stumbled out of her den. That's when the panic kicked in. Her heart beat a mile a minute. It wasn't that it was still dark, it's that she couldn't open her eyes! They had somehow crusted shut in the night. Her paw raised to her head in an attempt to find out whatever it was but their size made it impossible to tell. The girl slumped to her hind and went into a state of shock. Her tail quieted and her shoulders shook What will I do? What can I do? He- The girls thoughts were interrupted as a bout of nausea overwhelmed her. Her sides heaved, the alabaster girl barely being able to breathe between gut aching retches. Afterwards a wavering, high pitched howl tore from her lungs. The message was clear. Help!

Sorrel had begun to get a little more adventurous now. By no means was he like most children, out exploring as much as he could and he certainly didn't have his cousins ambitions of finding his own den anytime soon, he had only just gotten his mother back and he certainly had no plans of leaving her side anytime soon. Besides with F?li ill at the moment and their mother still recovering she needed help right now.

He was out attempting to collect any possible herbs. He certainly still had a lot to learn, couldn't name a lot of the things he had found but his mother and all the ill wolves needed to get better before his lessons could really start, in the mean time he was thrown in at the deep end as he attempted to learn whilst everyone struggled to find a cure. It was not exactly the nicest of learning environments.

The sudden cry for help caused the boy to jump. A part of him was certainly tempted to flee a little scared by it and not wanting any sort of danger. He wasn't far away however and a guilt within him caused him to go and see what the problem was. He crept closer at first though upon noticing the dried blood around the other's eyes he knew exactly what the problem was and suddenly found himself becoming a little more confident.

"Quiet." He told her, alerting the other of his presence. He couldn't name her nor did he particularly care for introductions, instead moving straight on with the matter at hand. "You are ill." He told her bluntly. "You can't open your eyes?" He observed that the girl's were still closed, the dried blood quite thick around them. "I recommend that you go and wash them, you've got blood around them." Hardly the greatest bedside manner in the world but it was certainly the most he'd spoken to a stranger before and the most confidently as well.

It wasn't long before the girl heard rustling moving towards her. Even though she called for help, a mixed emotions came to her. Relief, but also fear. She didn't know who was coming towards her. It could be someone bad. She realized that this is a little like what prey must feel when being hunted. When the voice came to her ears, saying Quiet She was surprised to hear how young it sounded, around her own age. You are ill. Well, you don't say... The aggressive sound to her own thoughts towards this stranger surprised even her. You can't open your eyes? Sound nodded, her body still shaking uncontrollably. I recommend that you go and wash them, you've got blood around them. Of course! Why hadn't she thought of that! Washing them shouod have been the first thing to come to her mind. The girl stumbled towards where she heard the river, hindered by her lost eyesight and the fact that her left hind paw wouldn't stop moving in odd directions. When she reached he river, Sound thrust her head into the water. After she emerged, she felt like a weight had been lifted from her eyelids. She opened her eyes, yellow and blue gems widening in relief. Even having lost her eyesight for only minutes, she realized how much she took it for granted. Sound turned back and returned to her den unsteadily. She looked at the boy in front of her and smiled weakly. He was evidently family. He had the same eyes as herself. "Th-Thank you."

She was even less talkative than Sorrel though the thought didn't cross the young boy's mind as it may have done others. Besides it was probably out of worry, it did have to be quite alarming to be so sick and to realise this on your own. Unfortunately for Sound her cousin was hardly the greatest of company, it was a wonder really that his own family tolerated his antisocial ways, far more eager to be a part of the pack than he was. In fact as it stood he hadn't even considered the fact that they might be cousins, all he saw before him was a patient. He may not have been the greatest doctor in the world, but he would do what he could now.

He walked with her as she made her way towards the nearest water source, it wasn't far fortunately for Sorrel probably wouldn't have been able to find it quite so swiftly had he needed to navigate the girl. She wasted no time in submerging her head and it was only then that he paid a thought to how cold the water probably was given it was the middle of winter. The girl hid any reaction to the icy temperatures however, and instead would turn her attention back to him with a thank you.

He saw now what she had noted as well, the mismatched eyes of opposing colours mirrored to his own just as his brother's were. He ignored her thanks, sadly not of of modesty but in fact simply being somewhat rude. "Others are ill as well." He informed her, perhaps she knew of this perhaps she didn't though he hadn't noticed her at the healing meeting or at any other point. "We do not know the cure for it yet." A rather blunt way of simply saying he could help her no further.

If Sound had noticed her cousin's disregard of her thanks, she didn't show. With a weak smile she listened to him speak. Others are ill as well. We do not know the cure for it yet. Others? Who? How much of the pack was infected!?! What of her siblings? Her mother? Silently she cursed for distancing herself from them. If only she'd been a more careful... Sound looked up from the ground to her cousin. I'm Sound, by the way. After a pause, she asked, Are my siblings and mother okay? The girl's worry about her family conquered the worry about herself. Her stomach probably would have heaved again if there was anything left in it.

There was certainly a lack of subtlety when it came to Sorrel's words, far from a delicate way of giving her the news either. He could have pointed out they were trying, revealed some sort of positive such as none had died from it but no, of course he wouldn't do such a thing. Her main worry however would of course suddenly on her family, he couldn't name all of the sick wolves, hadn't actually been around them all that much either and when he had there certainly hadn't been any pleasant introductions. That being said it wasn't news to him that many Destruction's lived in Ludicael and he should have figured stating such a fact would suddenly cause the white girl to worry about their family, most normal wolves did, even Sorrel had worried when he'd first seen that F?li was ill.

"Sorrel." He answered simply, introducing himself as he supposed Sound probably wanted him to do. He wasn't sure how they were related at this moment in time, nor did he care too much but her name was unfamiliar to the unsociable boy. She did however ask after her family soon after the formalities were over and that posed a problem for him, given that he didn't know who her mother or siblings actually where. There had been another pup he remembered around the same age as he and Sound though what the boy's name was he couldn't remember now. "I'm not sure."

Sound listened. Sorrel. Hmm... The name sounded familiar. Perhaps a cousin. He was definitely the right age. Whatever. When he told her that he didn't know of her family, she didn't despair. She would just find them on her own. The boy didn't seem very talkative nor did he seem to want the hold the conversation for much longer. With that, Sound said thankfully "Thank you, Sorrel. If you hadn't turned up, who knows what state I could have ended up in. I'm going to go and find my family now though. " Sound stood on shaky legs and started towards her mother's den, never having felt so eager to go home in weeks. She felt kind of bad leaving Sorrel, but she'd apologize later...
