A warm heart can melt the ice

The cold was starting to get worse here, her emerald eyes shining slightly as the sun peaked through the grey colored clouds. She had been wandering the landscape for a while, not stopping to come home to her new pack, but she knew she should come to a meeting, even though she had not participated, at least they could tell she was there. Her obsidian pelt shook off the fragments of snow that was trickling down and causing her to get cold as the flakes seeped through her pelt and onto the skin underneath.
The field was completely frozen, and she longed for spring to come back, though she was born in winter, she sometimes liked her birth season, and sometimes the femme wished she could deal without it. The cold bit down on her pelt, and her claws dug into the foliage. The ice formed in between her paws as she would sometimes stop to gnaw at the frozen pads of her feet, sometimes bleeding and leaving a small trail of dripping blood in her wake.
"How i wish spring would be back, even warmer weather would be nice. But, i wont complain," she smiled as she walked through the field and lied down in a shady tree, licking her bleeding paws and the black, cracked pads of her feet. Shaking her pelt once more, she could hear the sound of ducks flying south, and the distant sound of birds chirping in their little hollows.
Her eyes showed happiness, and also somewhat sadness came through her expression. She sometimes wished that she had someone who she could be happy with and have some love in her life since she had none for what seemed like many years. She gave a small whimper, placing her chin upon her forepaws and heaving a small sigh, leaving a small cloud of mist that dissipated into the atmosphere and vanishing in a blink of an eye.
