Qanik ghosted along the border, her tail and gait held stiffly from her troubled thoughts. Things hadn't been going terribly for Tortuga. Day by day they grew larger, stronger, more closely-knit. She had held a training session and the pack had responded, and learned, and grown closer. She'd spoken with Roman and learned of their alliance with the pack Arcanum and the possibility of an alliance with one Ebony.

It had been considering alliances that had driven Qanik out here to patrol alone, having drawn quite mixed feelings from her. The possible alliance with Ebony - the pack that housed Roman's rapist - drew a deep, simmering anger through her chest. The thought of Roman possibly going to Valhalla to secure peace, if not an alliance - the sudden sharp pain of loss remembered. Flamesong.

So she'd gone where she spent her time more often than not these days... brooding on the border. Brooding was unlike her, and likely she'd have scolded a younger wolf for being so unsociable, but she couldn't bring herself to spend a lot of time with the pack just now.

A few more steps through the snow - accumulating now that winter drew ever nearer - and then she paused. Ears flicked back toward a sound, her head turning a beat slower to focus on it. Pawsteps, but from the Tortugan side of the border rather than the unclaimed territory, so she simply stopped to wait for whoever it was to catch up, her dark gray-blue eyes calmly watchful.

Speech,

Barristan

In the mere day he had been in Tortuga he had already begun to adjust. He had been doing frequent patrols in the territory where he had been accepted, The Red Forest. It had been time for him to expand to another part of the border as he had moved on to Waterfall Peak where he could further learn the territory and prove his worth to the entirety of Tortuga and prove that he belonged. He wanted to prove it more so to Queen Roman Armada. She had taken him in without knowing more than a name and where he hailed from, it took an enormous amount of trust considering the one question he asked her seemed to prove his values and morals. The matter was Ser Barristan Selmy couldn't let her down, not now, not ever.

He had caught the scent of a female near the borders, the scent of Tortuga rolling off her led him to the knowledge that she was in the pack and someone he should talk to. He hadn't met another wolf since his joining with Roman at the borders. He spoke up to talk to her. "Hello ma'am, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
