The father to be was now getting himself settled. These lands were not very big, it was a nice location, compared to the islands or maybe the last tortugan lands he had been in. Though with this came new strength, with the man wading through the water like it was nothing, who could tell what the walkers adventures would be next. With a family coming up, he honestly didn't know how to feel. Though his cousin Arian was also on his mind. She had told him about the recent happenings, and that she needed help looking for two wolves. One of which was a golden like colored woman, natural by the name of Thalia. The other one was hard to remember though.
Hajime didn't know what made the girl think they'd be in Ebony. They could be anywhere on Alacritis by now, and a hunting party wasn't entirely his thing at the moment. He was stuck, happily, but still stuck at where he was at. And again he knew no one in Ebony besides his mate Elsa and Vaughan who had accepted him. So, there was not much help that he could ask for.

Walk | Talk | Think

Tahlia had been sticking close to the den of late, reluctant to venture further than to check on her elder children at their den just a short distance away. After the events in the Rock Garden, the earthquake that had dropped a tree across her and her children, she had been injured, taking a few scratches across her eye that had ruined her vision on her right side. She had refused to look at it, but it was still a nasty wound, a few scratches crisscrossing over it and the once lovely dark gold color of the eye now cloudy and grey. It was best she did not see it, at least not until the scars healed up a little more.

Encouraged by her family, she was beginning to come out a little further, drifting even so far as the lakeside in order to take a small drink in the privacy she could find there at times. This, however, as not one of those times. As soon as her still functional left eye fixed itself upon the brown and black wolf she stopped, hesitated, tempted to turn and retreat back into her den while she still had the chance. But her children's encouraging words, her husband's unfailing loyalty even when she was in this state, made her press on, to continue walking out and about the lake and into the open where the stranger would see her and take notice.

Trying her best to channel a little of her old confidence and strength, she carried herself straight and tall, a dignified countenance about her. Her seeing and unseeing gaze stared ahead and fixed upon the stranger as she came upon him, inclining her head politely. "Good afternoon," she greeted, "I am Tahlia. You are another resident of Ebony I presume?"

Sincerest Regards,

Tahlia Carlier

It felt rather unrealistic for him to try and search for these wolves, it wasn't any of his business otherwise. This was something Arian wanted to do for a friend or family member rather, and he didn't know where he played a part in that. He may have been her cousin, but blood only ran so deep. Well that could be a lie, specially for many of the walkers and their complex loves as it was. Hajime was only just defining his own, it was so stupidly surreal to experience. His paws crossed over each other as he thought about this, maybe his own priorities ended to be set straight once more. Otherwise Elsa would not have him to rely on when the time was needed, he knew for certain that he needed to keep his head on for the pups on the way. His last litter he hadn't really been in their lives, and what did that say about his issues with commitment? Well this time it was different, he loved Elsa and he wouldn't think otherwise.
Suddenly he was approached by an ebony wolf, another one he had yet to know. But once the name erupted in those tones he nearly choked on his own tongue. What a stupid coincidence this was, he wanted to pinch himself with his teeth to make sure it was real. Well regardless it wasn't like he could spring up the hey this wolf was looking for you for these reasons card. That was rude in a whole other fashion, and these were his pack mates not just some business partners to be striking a deal with. A soft smile would rise on his maw, "Yes I am, my name is Hajime its nice to meet you tahlia. How have you been?" it was a routine question. Hopefully his skills with small talk weren't totally broken, not that he had any in the first place. Connecting with others came with a bit of a challenge for him, more than he'd like to believe anyway.

She had not been expecting much. Maybe just a cordial greeting, small talk about nothing in particular, maybe even a few discreet glances made at her eye and, if the wolf was of the bold sort, a question about it. A part of her was ready to bristle at the thought but custom dictated that she should not. Even if she had a right to lose her temper she was not supposed to, though she supposed exceptions could be made to any rule. What she had not prepared for was the look of unexpected surprise that crossed the male's face. For a second she wondered whether she should have recognized him, how it might have been that he should show any sort of recognition for her, but nothing came to mind.

Whether he did know her from somewhere or not, he continued with what manners stated he should do. He smiled, perhaps a little more friendly than she would have expected, as if they might have known one another already, and confirmed what she had assumed in her greeting. He was an Ebony wolf, Hajime, and while he was nothing but polite she could not help but feel slightly affronted by his inquiry. She blinked, her clear and scarred eyes averting themselves to stare downward in a moment while she soothed her easily offended vanity. Surely he had not meant anything by it; she was simply being sensitive.

"As well as can be," she answered, her tone short and her voice tight with restraint, "all things considered. I should hope you are doing better?"

Hajime was not a highly social one, but it did help since of his younger days. Tail flicking slightly, he gave a soft smile towards her. He felt bad if she took offense at all. Maybe he was too kind for his own good, either that or he was trying too hard obviously. His red eyes looked over her as she spoke, and he honestly wanted to pry and check if things are okay. Though that would be rude, so he would shut his mouth and not say anything about it.
"I'm sorry to hear that, I guess I am. My mate is pregnant for the first time with my pups." Hajime said with a slight nod of his head, still digging it into his head. Things with elsa were going even more perfectly than he would have first assumed. Ebony was excellent too, he had finally found a home at that.

She remained tight lipped, a firm hold on what dignity remained, and listened silently as the brown male smilingly responded. An apology came first, one that was not entirely expected, but Tahlia did no more than blink as he went on to say that he himself had been doing well. She supposed it was to be expected. Their pack was prosperous, even despite the earthquake that had stolen the vision from her right eye. Even better, his wife was expecting, a few more bundles of joy to be added to their ranks. She might have thought indifferently of him so far, but more children meant more playmates for her own Lior and Kailos. And she did want them all to socialize more with their pack mates.

"Congratulations," she offered, nodding her head with approval despite the still present tightness to her tone. A young family, it was an admirable endeavor that he and his wife set out on, all things considered. "I wish good health on all of you. There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of parenthood." And at last the coldness of her voice began to thaw, the topic something she could not speak about without warmth and tenderness as her thoughts were claimed by images of her own children, adopted eldest included. They were her pride and joy, as her husband was her strength and stability. As much as she wanted to still be upset, even minimally, at Hajime, she found herself unable to. He appeared sincere, and with such great prospects for himself lined up she thought it nice to see such a youth so well put together.

Sincerest Regards,

Tahlia Carlier
