The pup was excited. Soon, she thought, she could start training to become an Ebon Knight. The girl had already made up her mind on who she wanted to be her a mentor a long time ago. Vaughan. The black furred male was amazing, she loved his personality and devotion to the pack. He knew how to make her smile, and her mom too. Even Korrin seemed to approve of the male... Which was surprising. The fox kit could be very picky, even more so than her wolf companion. The two were nearly inseparable at times all the same however.

Korrin would push Svetlana to get out of her comfort zone, and already the chubby pup was making a bit more progress. She could go longer than she could before, even while running, and had her friend to thank for it. At the moment the two were jogging around the lake. Svetlana was starting to pant a little, but the girl was determined to keep up with the more agile fox as long as she could. Korrin would glance back at her, gray eyes gleaming happily. They would have their spats now and then... But the two were obviously close.

?C?mon Svet!? She would yip, paws carrying her on. This last for another couple minutes before Svetlana would come to a stop. She was panting more heavily now, plopping down as the fox kit turned to look at her. She was smiling brightly. ?Good job Svet!? The little creature couldn?t be more proud of her friend. She was doing wonderful. The wolves of Ebony would one day see that Svetlana was a wolf who one day be a force to be reckoned with.

The flutter of nearby wings caught the fox kit?s attention, and she would drop into a crouch, leaving her companion behind as she stalked toward a bush. Little bum would shake in the air before she would creep up and pounce, grabbing a small blue bird and pinning it to the ground with her front paws. ?Gotcha!? Her gray eyes were gleaming brightly. Time for a snack.

~ ADELAIDE LAZURITE ~

Luminous blue eyes would catch the light from the lake, watching as the sunlight was cut into tiny fragments. Adelaide squinted at the sight, but smiled in admiration all the same. This place was relatively unfamiliar, at least in comparison to the rest of the Ebony lands. So she made it her goal to explore the lake today. As her snowy paws brought her smoothly around its shore, she would see a bit of movement behind her. One of the heirs was out running today, trying to keep up with its fox companion. This was the little fox kit that Adelaide had brought to health. Her work had certainly paid off. The woman turned around to watch them with a proud smile, settling on her haunches as they ran closer.

Then Svetlana seemed to feel some fatigue, for she plopped to the ground and panted heavily. Good old exercise. The white maiden would chuckle quietly at the sight, only letting her laughter die away when she saw what the little fox was up to. Grey eyes would glimmer hungrily as it stalked another creature. Surely the victim was small and helpless. How else would this equally tiny creature find the courage to approach it this way?

Adelaide felt her jaw drop in shock as Korrin leapt forward and pinned a beautiful blue bird by its wings. Her muscles twitched with worry, aching to go rescue the poor animal. But she would hesitate only a beat, wondering if the fox kit meant it as a game. Probably not.

Finally, the sounds of distress from the bird caused Adelaide to take action. She bounded forward, clearing the distance in two large strides. Her nose would dip down to nudge the child away, still being gentle as not to bring pain to either creature. Hopefully small claws had not sunken into the bird. It would break the woman's heart to see it become flightless. "Come now, Korrin, this poor fellow isn't a snack..." her eyes locked with the bird for a moment, and she thought she saw a grateful light in those black beads. "You can't eat him. He's nearly as big as you are!" Her attempt to bring humor into the scene may have failed, but she didn't want to damage her pride. Korrin was probably very satisfied with herself, as she should be. It was a good catch. Just not one that was meant to be eaten.

Sveltana would look up, ears lowering as she heard the sounds of distress from the bird that Korrin had pinned to the ground. But in a matter of moments Korrin was nosed to the side by Adelaide, and the pup would feel relief spread through her. She hadn?t seen the bird yet... But she rather liked birds. She didn?t like the thought of them getting hurt... Or eaten. The fox kit would frown a bit, flicking her ears back as looked at her former would-be snack. She hadn?t pressed her claws into his wings luckily... Aiming to pin him down and make the instinctive killing bite moments later, though the healer stopped her.

The comment that the healer made caused the little fox kit to huff, sitting down and flopping her tail alongside her body. ?Bird probably all feathers anyway...? By now Svetlana had got enough of her breath back to come up alongside Adelaide, lowering her face to the small bird and giving it a gentle nudge. ?You okay little guy? Don?t mind Korrin... She doesn?t understand that you?re too handsome to eat.? She was smiling gently, though her comments would earn another little huff from her companion.

The woman would turn her attention away from Korrin, a light smile touching her features. Her sapphire eyes rested instead on the frightened bird, who was now fluttering to his feet and cautiously checking his wings for injuries. Watching the delicate creature made her smile even more. He really was a magnificent bird. Svetlana would come to stand beside the snowy maiden, her little pup nose prodding at the bird. It would hop away a bit, its eyes wide with shock. But the young heir spoke soothing words, complimenting the creature on his dashing looks. Could it be that a smile appeared on that dark beak? "I'll be fine, miss. I'm just a little shaken up from the whole thing..." Soft tenor chords would bring a jolt of surprise to Adelaide. He spoke with the tongue of a wolf, save for a bit of an accent that belonged to the birds.

"How interesting..." she commented, sinking to her belly at his side. She lowered her face to his level and held a steady smile, being gentle and calm as to give confidence to the small blue bird. "Where did you learn to speak like that?"

The tiny male would blink at the woman before hopping a bit closer again. Besides a bit of bruising in his wings, he felt alright. Nothing he couldn't recover from, fortunately. He managed another shy smile. This snowy wolf seemed very kind, as did the young pup. "One can learn many things if one pays close attention. I taught myself how to speak your tongue, with a little help from some other foreign creatures." He would shake his feathers lightly, releasing any dust that had gathered there during his attack. "My name is Elijah. What may I call the two of you?"

Adelaide would tip her head slightly, genuinely interested in what Elijah had to say. His accuracy was incredible, considering it was his second language. Then she returned her attention in order to introduce herself, pausing to let Svetlana go first. When the pup had given her name, she would speak up. "Nice to meet you, Elijah. My name is Adelaide."

The young girl would smile brightly as the handsome blue bird answered her question. He had a lovely voice as well, though he held an a bit of an accent. The tail of the chubby girl started wagging so quickly, glad that he was alright, and all the more excited that he could speak with them. He was just like Korrin, though a fox and a wolf were a lot more similar so it seemed to make more sense that the young fox had learned to speak their tongue easier. He was certainly intelligent, having taught himself to speak like them. He would give his name as well, and Svetlana would introduce herself.

?My name is Svetlana Xanilov. Nice to meet you~~? The pup would look up to Adelaide as the healer introduced herself, feeling Korrin as the fox brushed against her from behind, half curling around her form to look at Elijah. The fox kit?s ears were tilted back, still in a bit of a huff. ?Elijah seems to not be too bad Korrin supposes. Korrin apologizes for trying to eat Elijah...? The fox meant it, though her gray eyes were looking at the bird with perhaps what could be seen as a bit of jealousy. Another non-wolf creature talking to her friend. She didn?t like it.
