She rolled in with the mist and the fog like a scarred ghost with piercing blue eyes. Her little sisters scent was strongest here, here in this land of Ebony. She had heard rumors. They fluttered on the wind and kissed her ears with confusion. But even so she knew Katja was around here somewhere, the scent was stil fresh and she had news to deliver. The gods has sent her visions, some troubling, some providing some relief and she need to discuss them with her sister.

The three-legged fae lingered at the border before tipping her head and howling for the alpha. Surely they would know where her sister was and a name she could manage that. Au?ra had been practicing her languages after all. The gods had given her much to think about.

The unexpected but much welcomed sound of her sister's voice rose over Ebony's pack lands, and Katja's hunt was immediately abandoned in favor of racing for the border. There was no elation on her stoic features, but the intent light in her gold-flecked eyes and the tension of her wiry body spoke volumes. The call was for Ebony's alpha, and well... that was indeed who would reply to it. But even had Raisa been alpha still, Katja would have answered the call. Too long had she been the only one of her family in these lands and if Katja were to admit it, she was in a way lonely. Always no matter how far she traveled as a mercenary she'd returned to her family, but she was bound by oath to remain far from them. And to Katja, family was one of the most important things in her life so being away from them was gnawing at her.

Emerging quietly from the brush to stand before her sister, the dark alpha studied her lighter-colored kin silently for a moment. Au?ra seemed to be more at ease with her handicap now, but seemed to be troubled by something. "Du kalte meg s?ster?" she questioned in her sister's native language. Katja had been practicing.

Au?ra's own eyes glittered at the sight of her sister, a soft smile spreading across her maw at the approach of the darker woman. She moved to nuzzle her younger sibling. Such displays of affection were unusual for the viking women but Au?ra was all too aware of her dwindling time. "Du ser vel s?ster" She was pleased that Katja was becoming so fluent in her native tongue. She'd been practicing as well both in German and in English but still her native tongue felt most comfortable for her. "Jeg kommer b?rende nyheter. Gudene har sendt meg en visjon. Jaegar er d?d." She gave a few moments for the news to sink in for Katja but she would not give her too long for she had even more foreboding news to give and she felt herself desperate to tell someone. The norns had loosened their lips and spilled to her the fate that she would now have to face. "Jeg har ogs? d?rlige nyheter. Jeg er til ? d? snart ogs?. Det er derfor jeg ?nsket ? se deg, men jeg er ikke redd."

Au?ra moved to nuzzle her, and Katja leaned into the caress. Though not a demonstrative person it had been long since she'd been in the company of family, and of all her family Au?ra was the one she felt closest to. The comfort of her touch was welcomed today.

But her words brought nothing but confusion as she relayed the knowledge passed to her in dream. Jaeger, dead? His death would release her from her oath, but there was a vague sense of loss - her whole time here the thought of bringing her cousin home to justice had sustained her, and the absence of that possibility was... emptying. And despite all that he'd done he was still family, and for him to have died at the hands of anyone but family was an insult to their line. Or was she not properly translating the still unfamiliar words?

Perhaps she was mistranslating, for Au?ra's next words could not possibly be so. Au?ra, to die soon? No, that could not be. The words hit her like a sword thrust, taking her breath and tightening her muscles in protest for the fierce pain. "Nei, s?ster, nei." Her angular head shook in denial, her face expressionless in it's agony. "Sikkert det er en feil, noen onde triks av Loke. Du kan ikke d?. Du er Finnvi. Du er min s?ster." Her hackles were raised, body set as though to fight for her sister. "Et offer vil sette denne retten. Vi har gudenes fav?r, vil de ikke forlate deg som dette."

The gods had seen fit to give her a pack, a home. Was there something she had failed to do, that they would take away her only friend, the pups, her cousin and her chance of bringing him to justice, and now her sister? What had she done wrong?

Au?ra waited in serene patience for her sister's response though she welcomed the return of her sister's nuzzle. She would make sure to relish her sister's company as much as possible. And perhaps aid her in her ambitions? It was most curious to find Katja as an alpha in a foreign pack. Though she was sure Katja would explain when there was time.

Au?ra carefully watched her sister's face and she could see the confusion. Truly, the seer herself had doubted the words of the gods when they first relayed this vision to her. Part of her wondered if she'd been mistaken. Part of her feared she misinterpreted the dream but all the same she would trust in the gods and well as her own skills. Katja pulled away shaking her head in disbelief but Au?ra knew not what else she could say. The norns had already woven their fate. What else was there to do but meet and accept it?

"Katja, v?r skjebne er ikke v?r egen. Hvis gudene s?ke ? ta meg da jeg vil g? gjerne. Jeg vet ikke timen for min bortgang. Det kan v?re i morgen kan det v?re ?r fra n?. Men trygg p? det vil ikke v?re f?r jeg har tjent min hensikt." Au?ra knew the news would be hard on Katja, especially with the degree of uncertainty as to how long she had left but even so she would not fear death. When her time came she would greet it like an old friend. "I mellomtiden. Katja. Jeg ville hjelpe deg. Hva trenger du av meg?"
